Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 182: Her Boyfriend Is an Ordinary Person
As Stella Grant left the doctor’s office, Justin Harrison’s expression was somewhat grim.
Stella pretended not to notice and ignored him.
Back in the ward, Lynn Adler was praising Justin Harrison to Ms. Dunn, saying he was a dedicated and responsible doctor.
Stella originally didn’t want to chime in, but worried that Justin might try to get information from Lynn, she casually remarked, "Mom, it’s better to maintain some distance in the doctor-patient relationship."
Lynn paused upon hearing that and turned to look at her.
Stella walked over to the water dispenser, filled a cup, and handed it to her, "Having a sense of distance isn’t necessarily a bad thing."
Lynn understood Stella and knew that her words carried weight.
However, in front of Ms. Dunn, Lynn didn’t feel it was appropriate to ask directly, so she took the cup from Stella with a smile and replied, "True."
The mother and daughter had a tacit understanding.
Stella smiled with a curve to her lips, casually grabbed a chair, and sat down by the bedside, "Do you want some dragon fruit?"
Lynn said, "I feel like having an orange."
Stella shook her head, "No way, high potassium content, it would put a burden on the kidneys."
The smile in Lynn’s eyes deepened, "You’re almost like my diet consultant now."
Stella had a small red mole at the corner of her eye, not noticeable when she wasn’t smiling, but alluring when she did, "Hmm, from now on, I’m your diet consultant; whatever you want to eat, you’ll have to pass my approval."
After Stella finished speaking, Lynn was about to say something but suddenly noticed the hickey on her neck.
Lynn, no stranger to these things, hesitated for a moment and subtly asked, "Has Ray Woods come to Brynnfield?"
Logically, he shouldn’t have.
Ray Woods was a well-mannered young man; if he had really come, he would definitely have visited her in the hospital.
But the hickey on Stella’s neck...
Upon hearing Lynn’s words, Stella looked up, "Hmm?"
Seeing Stella’s puzzled expression, Lynn coughed lightly twice, "Nothing."
The two chatted idly, and as noon approached, Ms. Dunn asked what the two wanted to eat before heading downstairs to buy lunch.
As soon as Ms. Dunn left, Lynn immediately asked Stella what happened in the doctor’s office that morning.
Stella didn’t hide anything and told Lynn the whole story.
Lynn was initially incredulous, then sighed lightly, "Dr. Harrison seems a bit out of line."
Stella wasn’t well acquainted with Justin Harrison and didn’t want to judge someone based on one incident, so she added, "What he thinks isn’t important, and whether he’s out of line isn’t important either. The important thing is, Mom, we need to have boundaries."
Lynn reassured Stella, "Don’t worry, Mom understands this and won’t cause you any trouble."
Stella, "Hmm."
After finishing the topic about Justin, Lynn leaned in and pointed at Stella’s neck with her hand, "What’s this about?"
Stella, unaware of anything on her neck, reached to touch it, "Hmm?"
Lynn asked, "Ray Woods didn’t come to Brynnfield?"
Stella replied casually, "No, why..."
As she spoke, she suddenly realized something, and her cheeks flushed red.
Seeing this, Lynn knew her suspicion was confirmed.
The mark on Stella’s neck was indeed a hickey.
But the one who left this mark wasn’t Ray Woods.
Noticing the change in Lynn’s expression, Stella pressed her lips slightly, "Mom."
Lynn frowned, "Did you break up with Ray Woods?"
It’s not wise to hide this kind of thing, as hiding it could lead to unexpected troubles.
Stella looked into Lynn’s eyes seriously, "Mom, I never dated Ray Woods; it was just an act to put your mind at ease."
After speaking, Stella felt her heart leap into her throat, worried she might anger Lynn.
However, all Lynn did was take a long breath and say, "I knew it."
Then she poked Stella’s forehead a few times with her finger, "I guessed it long ago."
Stella didn’t expect this outcome and couldn’t help but laugh, "How did you guess?"
Lynn said, "What couple in love doesn’t call at least once every ten days or so? Also, last time you two were at home, you acted too deliberately."
Stella, "..."
Lynn chuckled and added, "But I do quite like Ray Woods; he’s respectful and sensible."
Stella, "Indeed."
Ray Woods was indeed impeccable in his dealings with people.
With Stella’s words, Lynn didn’t say anything else.
After a while, Lynn asked with a smile, "Then who’s your boyfriend now?"
Stella’s fingers hesitated on the dragon fruit as the image of Silas Sutton’s nonchalant yet charming face flashed in her mind, "Just...just an ordinary person."
