Limitless Summoner: Rise of the Soul God-Chapter 81: More demons
Ethan hoped for a lucky break but it looked like today was just not his day. When the Red Tail strolled back out of the mine, three other demons followed behind it. Perhaps they were even a little suspicious of the beast.

For a second Ethan was worried if the Red Tail would blow his cover. Thankfully, the demon beast knew better as it took the three demons to a different route.
Ethan then had another thought. What if those three demons were the only backup and if Red Tail was indirectly setting up a good ambush spot for him? It was an opportunity he couldn’t miss.
For all he knew this forest might be crawling with demons. He was not sure if he could simply run to safety or if there were even any safe places in the vicinity. So the more demons he hunted and the stronger he became, his chances of survival would be that much better.
Without hesitation, Ethan sent the injured Razorclaw Berserker to the mine. The lesser demon limped toward the mine and immediately the two other demons rushed to it. They spoke in a language that Ethan did not understand and soon, one of the demons was helping the Razorclaw sit down.
This was also exactly the moment when the demon flashed a glance toward Ethan giving him an unmistakeable signal. Ethan understood and quickly made a move.
Ethan dashed forward, his dagger glinting in the dim light as he signaled his minions to strike. The injured Razorclaw Berserker had done its job—drawing the two lesser demons’ attention just long enough for Ethan to seize the advantage. The demon that had glanced at him barely had time to react before Ethan was upon it.
His wolves lunged in first, teeth sinking into exposed flesh as they tore at the demon’s limbs. The spiders, slightly bigger now after three consecutive level-ups, skittered up the demon, venom-laced fangs piercing through the demon’s hide.
A strangled roar escaped its throat as it thrashed wildly, but Ethan didn’t let up. He darted forward and drove his dagger into its side, twisting it deep. A burst of dark ichor sprayed onto his hands.
The second lesser demon, realizing the ambush, let out a guttural snarl and sprang at him. But Ethan had already accounted for this.
Armed with Lia’s buffs, the two goblins crashed into the demon from behind, their crude weapons slamming against its legs. It staggered, momentarily thrown off balance. That was all the opening Ethan needed.
He pulled his dagger free from the first demon and pivoted, ducking beneath a wide swipe before plunging the blade straight into the second demon’s throat.
A shudder ran through its form before it collapsed.

Ethan barely had time to register the notification before the first demon let out a dying shriek and fell lifeless to the ground as well. His minions wasted no time in tearing into its remains, securing their victory.

Ethan exhaled sharply, letting the rest of the notifications wash over him. The experience gained had started to slow down but it was still big enough to make a difference.
Wiping the demon blood from his blade, he looked around. It was a clean execution, but there was no time to rest. His eyes flickered toward the mine entrance, where darkness loomed like a gaping maw.
He immediately summoned his latest minions to have a chat. "Is there something inside?" He asked cautiously. Only after the confirmation, he hurriedly walked in, Lia closely following behind him.
Around them, the walls were jagged and uneven, carved by years of crude excavation. Streaks of mineral-rich veins pulsed faintly in the dim light—a deep violet ore, shimmering like liquid dusk, intertwined with veins of dull silver.
Here and there, clusters of crimson crystals jutted from the rock face, pulsing faintly with an eerie inner glow.
Ethan had no idea what these ores were but he did not want to focus on that right now. Despite the emptiness of the cavern, a heavy silence filled the air, the kind that settled in places where death had come and gone.
The ground was uneven, scattered with discarded pickaxes, rusted tools, and broken lanterns. But there were no bodies. Only dark stains on the floor where blood had pooled long ago.
