’The Empty Throne?’
The moment the voice told him what class he had awakened, Lucien was completely stunned.
He thought he would awaken a general class like Mage, Knight, Assassin, or even Enchanter, but what was with this uncanny name?
"Swoosh!"
However, the dungeon didn’t allow him to think, since as soon as the voice announced, he suddenly felt a huge amount of energy being pushed through him.
Then, suddenly, the vision he saw before disappeared, completely replaced by a simple room.
’Throne?’
Lucien saw that now in his vision was a wide, simple room devoid of any decorations.
Only, an empty throne stood at its center, silent yet majestic, while at its side lingered four tall shadows, just like those heroes outside.
As soon as Lucien laid his eyes on them, he immediately understood each of these shadows seemed to represent a different path: Devourer, Sorcerer, Enchanter, and Assassin.
He could recognize them because of their unique aura.
The Devourer pulsed with a dark, voracious energy, as if it could consume anything in its path and grow stronger with each bite.
The Mage exuded a swirling, arcane power, fragments of spells flickering like starlight around its form.
The Enchanter shimmered faintly, cloaked in a delicate blue light, carrying weird yet enchanting illusions that were quite attractive.
And the Assassin stood completely draped in a black cloak, almost blending with the darkness.
Each shadow appeared silent yet alive, bowing respectfully to the throne that was empty and unassuming. The vision was so weird yet so expressive.
[Congratulations! Your class has been successfully awakened.]
[As a being that has a Unique Class and SSS-rank skills at his disposal, you are qualified as a resident of the World of Origin.]
[You have been invited to the nearest Domain Dungeon.]
The voice continued on its own, not giving Lucien a chance to breathe or think. Before he could even grasp the meaning of his class, a sudden surge of knowledge flooded his mind.
It was a map, etched vividly into his consciousness.
’Domain Dungeon? Why do I feel that this place is familiar?’
Lucien suddenly saw a dungeon marked in a vast sea and felt it was quite familiar.
[The Class Awakening Process has been completed. The candidates can now leave the dungeon of their own will.]
The soothing voice slowly got lower, as if it were the end. Lucien even felt that his vision was beginning to return, as the bright white light surrounding him began to recede like a tide.
’Huh? Is it over? But... what about that suggestion of the Mother Origin? Is she playing with me again?’
Lucien thought that might be so. This girl was really not trustworthy at all.
’Forget it. I don’t care about that anyway.’
He thought, ready to explore his unique class instead. He felt that he might have awakened something amazing.
However, just as the white light blinding his eyes was about to recede completely, the voice that had almost disappeared appeared again, whispering in a low voice:
[Those who steal the abilities of others often lack the power of their own. Be careful, as the Empty Throne might remain empty forever.]
After that, the voice truly disappeared, leaving Lucien stunned in place, out of the white blinding light.
’Is that the advice from Mother Origin?’
Lucien thought, recalling the so-called advice.
’Is it... trying to say that while I now have multiple skills, nothing is my own?’
He remembered the empty throne he saw that was surrounded by the shadows of the classes. While those classes seemed awesome, the throne itself was completely unremarkable.
So, if he thought about that vision, it did make sense.
"Did you awaken your class? Why are you so late?"
Just when Lucien was musing over things, he suddenly heard someone questioning him from the side with curiosity.
"Hmm?"
Only now did he realize that Lilith and her entourage were already at the side, as if waiting for his appearance.
"Umm... am I late?"
Lucien didn’t know if he was late or not. After all, he was blinded by the white light and couldn’t perceive his surroundings.
Although remembering the continuous blabbering non-stop, it did seem he had awakened a little late.
"Otherwise? Look, even everyone outside has already awakened and is leaving this place."
Lilith rolled her eyes and signaled outside the barrier, where only a small number of people were still standing. It seemed many had already left once they awakened their class.
When Lucien looked ahead, he saw that although many were gone, Liora was still outside, watching this place nervously.
She seemed to have awakened her class and was waiting for him, though she didn’t appear to see what was happening inside the barrier.
"Forget them. Tell me, did you awaken your class or not? What is it?"
