Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 766 - 767: They Are Willing To Offend Us
Now that the other immortal had appeared, Kael did not relax.
He refrained from using Conquering Mode Avatar partly because it would not be of much use.
Conquering Mode Avatar when used on immortals happened to cost a lot of Conquering Essence and Kael was not ready to take on that cost yet.
At least, the immortals that were on standby were more than one.
Kael brought his hand up to clean the blood that trickled down his nose and stained his lips and his beard.
"The Cheetahs," Kael muttered.
Azeus nodded, "We’ll pay them a visit," He said.
"Haven’t you paid them a visit before?" Kael asked. He turned his head slightly, showing a dark side of his face. With the way he was talking, one may forget that all of them were stronger than he was.
The commanding and heavy tone that had befell his voice was magnetic and caused the others to think five times before doing anything.
It wasn’t like the cheetah race in Original Heaven was pushovers too. They also stood with a member acting as a councillor at the Ancient Felines Council.
The lions and the other felines were not on good terms. Among the felines, the lions had no allies at all.
What Kael was asking was, if they paid the Cheetahs a visit, what was going to happen? Were they going to beat up a few cheetahs or maybe kill the few that they could?
How was that going to be different from what they had been doing in the past?
Just like in ancient times, the Lions were more dominant and superior naturally than the Cheetahs in terms of combat and sheer might.
But that difference didn’t mean much above the tier 7 tier.
Kael didn’t want to pay a pointless visit to the Cheetahs if he wasn’t certain of dealing with them.
What were they going to do if they went there? Show face and make threats?
"Before the cheetahs decided to take these actions, they had carefully weighed the cost of offending a lion," Kael said, his shoulders dropped and he brought his head low.
"And by their logic, they thought that the lions were worth offending for the sake of their agendas.
How far have we fallen?" Kael asked, shaking his head, then he turned away to look at the observation lake and pay attention to the flashing identity mark.
The faces of Alexander and Jordan were calmer but Azeus, Phestus, and Gabriel were uneasy.
Indeed, the cheetahs did not respect them at all.
What gave them such balls? What gave any of them such balls in the first place?
"The Lion Hegemony still stands, let us rebuild it to its former glory.
We are not going to show mercy to our enemies when the time comes, is that an agreement?" Jordan said.
"There was no question about that, but what about my consort? The consort of your All-King, your Primordial.
Am I to suffer a heavy loss so that I can rise or some shit?" Kael tilted his head.
In the observation pool below, the images showed that the Primordial Panther was being chased by five immortal lions.
One of those immortal lions in particular was quite large and seemed hell-bent on tearing the Primordial panther to shreds.
They chased after the streaming clump of dark energy which raced to the uncompleted Apex Pyramid.
Soon, the Primordial Panther slammed into the side of the pyramid, dragging his body over the unfinished surface and metal plates.
It was surprising to him that he was not able to bash his way through in one try. Usually, it was hard to find any material that could stand in his way.
The walls of this Apex Pyramid seem to have been cast and constructed from the best of materials the universe could offer, being reinforced hundreds of times and sealed tightly to prevent any entity like the Primordial Panther from sliding through the gaps.
It wasn’t indestructible, but it was very durable.
The Primordial Panther immediately kicked his limbs on the side of the wall and shit away.
Almost immediately, a large lion smashed into the wall at the exact position the Primordial Panther had been.
It immediately became clear who was superior physically.
Where the Primordial Panther had barely made a few scratches, the large and mighty immortal lion created a crater with deep cracks. One more hit and he would break through the wall.
The Primordial Panther was wary of this particular lion, why was he so strong? He asked himself in his mind.
But it wasn’t that he was particularly scared of the large lion, he just didn’t want to get close. Fighting a War Lion in close combat was a very bad idea, whether the other opponent was a Primordial or not.
The Primordial Panther and Cheetah were not like the Primordial Horse or Lion that could use the abilities of others. They had to rely on the abilities given to them by their affiliated law.
So, a Primordial Panther was not going to have the exceptional physical prowess owned by a War Panther.
It made sense why he had to run away. He would be crushed under the span of a few moves if he engaged in this big lion.
What made it worse was that four other lions were also chasing after him from different angles.
The Primordial Panther’s feet moved fast, his body blending in and out of the darkness as he ran over the side of the colossal unfinished pyramid.
The lions chased after him with relentless will.
Meanwhile, Quin, one of Memphis’s former friends and an immortal now, had joined the fight against the Primordial Cheetah along with four other lions.
Instantly, the Primordial Cheetah was put into a state of discomfort.
Quin alone was given a run as he teamed up with Memphis to corner the speedster.
The Primordial Cheetah zoomed from one corner of the continent to the other, dodging all the attacks that were coming his way, only by a hair’s breadth.
Unfortunately for him, the lions were also battle masters and were fully capable of adapting to an enemy like him.
Soon, the Primordial Cheetah had to start tapping into his Speed Essence reserves to protect himself. A single cut on his shoulder from a spatial blade was a warning that this had just become extra dangerous.
He had only managed to kill one consort, which wasn’t enough at all. He had to kill all of them, that was the order.
It wasn’t like he was obligated to do it though. But he had to choose.
It was either he would ensure to complete his mission here or go back and answer to the angry Patriarch of Luthor House.
He had to make a decision fast because only one of them would guarantee that he continued living to see the next day and that definitely wouldn’t happen if he continued fighting in this place.
Amidst his evasions as he flashed through the sky, dodging Memphis’s claws and those deadly spatial blades coming from every which way, he cast a glance at his supposed partner.
The Primordial Panther was also about to be cornered.
That he could survive against five immortal lions was impressive already. If only there were darkness all around, he might have stood a chance.
The Primordial Cheetah made a decision.
Meanwhile, down below, under the flashing lights of the retreating construction shuttles, fallen vessels, and immortal battles are happening in the sky.
The rest of Kael’s consorts were present.
They stood around Ruda’s cold body. Ruda who had once generated a spark of pink electricity with every movement was now as still as a wooden board.
Her body had reverted back to its true form, lying there on its side with the other side facing the sky.
Alora, Olivia, Zabita, Priya, Nalii, Wei, Diane, Katari, Eidel, all of them stood around Ruda with a solemn atmosphere around them.
Katari remained expressionless, her inner thoughts unknown. But one could guess that she was thinking of how big a loss this was for both her and Kael.
Only N’bayé and Chloe were absent for obvious reasons.
But they must have gotten the message.
Ruda was gone.
Eidel’s tears had dried off again, and Alora looked to the sky coldly.
She wanted to give an excuse, that it was because they were weak that this had happened. But how many times had they given this excuse?
They were weak, acknowledging it at this point was more like a stab in their hearts.
None of them were tier 7, only Memphis was at the immortal tier.
Yet, even she had a difficult time before Quin and the others arrived.
What could they do?
Nothing?
Katari could only imagine how disappointed Kael would be, if he were.
They were supposed to be the extension of the All-King’s power, but one of them is dead right now.
Katari had this very strong urge to do something very dangerous.
Just then...
