Limitless Evolution: I'm The New Dragon God?-Chapter 54: True Dragon’s Roar
Chapter 54: Chapter 54: True Dragon’s Roar
Grrrr!
As soon as Ryu selected Hard Difficulty, several ferocious wolves leapt at him from the start.
Caught off guard, he raised his sword purely on instinct to defend himself.
But one of their claws still sliced through his skin like butter.
Bam!
Another wolf headbutted him in the stomach and sent him flying backward.
Bang!
He crashed into a frozen rock, the impact forcing a mouthful of blood from his lips. Pain shot through his chest, signaling a possible internal injury.
But it wasn’t enough to stop him.
He got to his feet, legs shaky, and grabbed his sword from where it had fallen.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh...
All five Ice Wolves lunged at him again, mid-air, their fangs gleaming.
Ryu glanced at them and smiled faintly. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
Finally, a real challenge.
His figure blurred.
Activating [WindLeap Dash], he vanished from his spot and reappeared mid-charge.
With a clean, brutal strike, he slashed through the neck of the nearest wolf.
Thud!
Its head hit the icy ground and disintegrated into shimmering blue particles.
Still, Ryu didn’t allow his body any rest. He understood these wolves were fast and more dangerous than before.
Their levels hovered between 8 and 9, but their coordination and ferocity made them far more threatening than numbers alone suggested.
[Tunnel Gore Strike]
Activating the skill, Ryu burrowed into the frozen ground like a bullet.
Whoosh!
Them within a heartbeat, he burst out behind another wolf, sword flashing in a swift arc.
Slash!
The blade carved cleanly through its spine.
He didn’t stop. Using a mix of awkward footwork and burst skills, he took down the rest one by one.
Each kill was precise. Ruthless. Efficient.
And when the last wolf dissolved into particles, several glowing items dropped onto the icy ground around him.
But before he could even inspect them, a familiar wave of energy washed over his body.
[ Level Up: 8 → 9 ]
[ Strength +21, Agility +19, Vitality +20 ]
[ Mana +200 ]
Another level gained.
"Hmm... That was faster than expected. Could it be because I cleared the Easy Mode’s boss earlier? If so, I must have gained a large amount of EXP from that fight," Ryu muttered, nodding to himself.
His gaze dropped to the items scattered across the icy ground:
[ Ice Wolf Cores (F): x4 ]
[ Skill Book: Frost Rend Strike (F) x2 ]
[ Skill Book: Glacier Maw (F) x1 ]
His eyes lit up.
"Finally... some decent loot." He crouched and scooped up the glowing cores and skill books, inspecting them carefully.
"Even though they’re just F-Rank Skills, they can still fetch a good price on the market. But—" He paused and narrowed his eyes, "I won’t sell them unless I absolutely have to. They might strengthen my current skills through Fusion."
He then opened his status and checked his stats. All numbers had increased, but what caught his eyes was: MANA
[ Mana: 290 / 507 ]
After seeing this, a grin spread across his face. "Haha... 507 mana? With this much, I can easily clear the rest of this floor. This difficulty mode might be hard for others, but not for me."
But the moment he said that, a chilling sound echoed from deeper in the dungeon.
"Hiss... hissss... hissssss..."
His smile faded instantly.
Emerging from the white mist ahead, several serpentine creatures slithered into view. Massive crystalline serpents, their bodies armored with jagged blue ice scales, their eyes glowing like frostfire.
[ Crystalline Ice Serpent - Level 11 ]
They were bigger than anacondas, easily over fifteen meters long, coiling and uncoiling with terrifying grace.
Their presence alone made the temperature drop even lower.
Ryu instantly started running and began removing his clothes. At first glance, he understood that his human form wouldn’t be able to do a damn thing against those serpents. He needed to transform, but he also couldn’t afford to lose his new clothing.
The sword had already been sent into the Fusion Lab, and the clothes followed suit.
Now completely naked, he swiftly deactivated his human form and transformed back into his original dragon form.
Buzz!
The serpents chasing him suddenly froze, sensing a powerful shift in the atmosphere.
Then, right before their very eyes, the figure of the tiny prey vanished, or replaced by something far more terrifying.
A dragon. An Imperial Dragon.
Now standing at nearly 2 meters tall, Ryu’s sheer presence radiated overwhelming pressure. His aura weighed heavily on the serpents, suppressing their bloodlines as if demanding absolute submission.
But something inside the serpents stirred. Maybe a primal instinct, or perhaps a form of corrupted programming. Because of that, they resisted the bloodline suppression.
On the contrary, their eyes burned with icy madness. These creatures were not born to kneel. They were created to kill, regardless of what stood before them.
Ryu understood it instantly.
So he didn’t waste another second. Planting his clawed feet into the icy ground, he inhaled deeply.
Frost and fire swirled together inside his throat, mixing into a volatile blend of opposing elements.
He gathered the energies to their peak and waited for the serpents to come closer.
"Hisssss!"
When the serpents in range, jaws wide, fangs dripping with venom, Ryu’s golden eyes shone as he activated the skill with full force.
[ Sunflare Glacial Roar ]
ROAAAR!
This wasn’t like the same skill he used in his humam form. In his dragon form, it was something else.
The resulting blast was an eruption of opposing forces. Scorching flame entwined with freezing mist, bursting from his mouth in a torrent of elemental chaos.
Buzzz!
The air cracked and the ground fractured beneath the pressure.
Sizzle, Sizzle...
Fire sizzled through the frost while shards of ice danced violently within the heat, creating a storm that swallowed the serpents whole.
Hisss, hisss, hisssss!
The serpents thrashed and hissed, their crystalline scales shattering under the furious collision of extremes. One let out a dying shriek before its head split apart in a burst of steam and frozen blood. Another tried to escape, but its tail froze mid-slither, anchoring it to the ground just as the flames engulfed its upper half.
Within seconds, the battlefield was left steaming and scarred. Ice had melted into shallow pools that quickly refroze, and ash floated gently over the frostbitten stone.
