Limitless Evolution: I'm The New Dragon God?-Chapter 51: Dungeon Diving
Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Dungeon Diving
[ Welcome, Evolver! Please choose your preference ]
Difficulty Mode:
Easy | Mid | Hard | Extreme | Hell
Ryu blinked as the glowing blue screen hovered before his eyes, the text neatly aligned in an almost playful tone. It felt slightly out of place in the ominous chill of the frozen mountain air.
"So this dungeon has difficulty channels," he muttered quietly, eyes narrowing with intrigue. "That means each Evolver has its own layer or dimension..."
His lips curled into a faint smile.
’Perfect for a solo dive. No interference from others.’
He eyed the options. Mid was tempting. High felt like a real challenge. Extreme and Hell? No thanks. Not until he was sure how this place worked. He wasn’t here to die for curiosity.
He tapped Easy with his finger.

The world around him shimmered like broken glass catching sunlight. A wave of mana passed through his body, pulling him forward gently.

Whoosh!
The environment changed.
He stood now inside a sprawling icy cavern, its ceiling covered with glowing frost crystals that bathed the area in pale blue light. Frozen stalactites hung overhead, and smooth glacial walls reflected his own image with ghostlike distortion.
There were no other hunters in sight. Just him. Alone.
In the distance, faint growls echoed from deeper inside the den. A cold mist clung to the floor, swirling around his boots with every step.
Ryu inhaled, the cold air crisp in his lungs.
"Alright, let’s see what kind of prey Easy Mode has to offer."
He drew his sword and stepped into the icy unknown, ready for his first solo dungeon dive.

As Ryu moved deeper into the frost-laden cavern, the silence began to fade away. The cold mist parted ahead, and a soft squelching sound echoed faintly through the corridor of ice.
Plop... plop... plop...
Ryu paused.
Something emerged from behind a crystalline boulder. A strange, wobbling creature made entirely of icy-blue gel.
A slime.
But not just any slime. Its body emitted a faint chill, and thin frost trailed behind wherever it rolled. Snowflake patterns danced within its gelatinous mass like drifting ash.
Above its translucent head, a glowing label hovered briefly.
[ Iceling Slime – Level 6 ]
Ryu blinked once. "Ohh, A slime? Seriously?"
The creature let out a high-pitched gurgle and suddenly lunged forward, its round body extending like a whip. But Ryu had already moved.
With a sidestep, he swung his Iron sword.
Shing!
The blade cut cleanly through the slime’s body, which collapsed into a puddle of icy gel.
Boing... Boing...
Almost immediately, another two Iceling Slimes bounced out from a small crack in the wall, growling in their own bizarre watery way.
"Hehe.. Guess the first one had friends."
One of the slimes shot a shard of ice from within its body. Ryu tilted his head and dodged, then dashed forward.
Slash, Slash, Slash.
His blade flashed again and again.
Three slimes.
Three clean strikes.
All defeated.
He stood among slowly melting piles of semi-transparent goo. Then, from each of them, a single orb of blue light rolled out and came to a stop near his feet.
[ Iceling Slime Core (F) x3 ]
Ryu crouched, picked one up, and examined it.
The core was smooth, palm-sized, and emitted a cold breeze. It pulsed gently in his hand like a weak heartbeat.
"These things should sell decently. Or maybe be used in crafting cold-element gear."
He stowed the three cores into his Fusion Lab which works as a inventory space.
"So this is Easy Mode, huh?" he smirked.
Resting the sword on his shoulder, Ryu continued ahead, the cold air brushing against his cheeks. The frozen path before him shimmered faintly under the icy light of the dungeon. The crunch of snow beneath his boots was the only sound.
But peace never lasted long.
"Swoosh, swish, swish!"
Out of nowhere, shadows leapt from behind a cluster of jagged frozen rocks. They moved fast, their paws silent and swift on the snow.
Ryu’s senses flared, but the ambush was too sudden.
He spun around just in time, raising his sword to guard.
Bam!
One icy paw struck the blade, sending a shudder up his arm.
Pow!
Another slammed into his stomach, knocking the wind out of him.
His body flew back like a ragdoll.
Thud!
He landed hard on the frozen ground, snow puffing up beneath him. His back stung, but his grip on the sword remained ironclad.
Groaning, he raised his eyes toward the attackers.
Three sleek wolves with fur like crystallized frost emerged from the shadows. Their eyes glowed pale blue, and mist curled from their mouths with every breath.
Above their heads floated a nameplate.
[ Glacier Wolves – Level 7 ]
"Great," Ryu muttered, pulling himself to his feet. "I just beat up some jelly monsters, and now I’m the main course for ice hounds."
Awoo!
The wolves like blue glacier, growled in unison, circling him slowly. Their breath fogged the air, and their claws scraped the ice.
Ryu adjusted his stance and took a deep breath. His sword glinted coldly in the dim light. His heart thudded in his chest, not out of fear, but anticipation.
"Alright then, round two."
The wolves pounced again.
The first wolf attacked with its wide jaws as icy breath trailed behind it like mist.
Ryu sidestepped, barely missing the snapping fangs, and brought his sword down with a crude arc.
As a inexperienced person, his sword strike was slow and crude, but it was enough to land a few strikes out of survival instinct.
Splat!
The blade sliced through its side, breaking the crystalline fur and spilling out blue, slushy blood. The wolf yelped and tumbled onto the snow, twitching before going motionless.
The other two wolves snarled, now cautious.
"Even I know when to land a strike whem my life on the line," Ryu whispered, gripping his sword tighter. The cold stung his fingers, but his focus remained razor sharp.
The second wolf dashed in from the left while the third flanked from behind.
[Sunflare Glacial Roar (E)]
Ryu realeased a hot and bone chilling cold mist, and froze the Wolf in mid air.
He overlapped the skill with [ Hydra Human ], which came almost naturally, although he wasn’t aware pulling this off was difficult for newbies.
Whack!
His blade smacked the third wolf across the muzzle with blunt force, knocking it sideways. Before it could recover, he lunged.
Stab!
The sword pierced its chest, right where the mana core should be. The wolf twitched, then faded into motes of ice and light.
