Limited Time Marriage: Nice to Meet You Mr. Foster-Chapter 18: Not a Wonderful Thing
South Grant looked up at Fiona Grant.
Her gaze was cold and clear, staring at Fiona for a long time. That cold look was like a knife, as if trying to cut her open, to see what color her heart was, whether it had any warmth.
Fiona felt a chill under South’s gaze, unsure of what was going on with her.
Just a few days ago, she had been the compliant sister, never refusing Fiona’s requests.
But after the incident with Shawn Grant, she became different.
She became no longer warm, turning cold and unfeeling.
Now, she was looking at her with such eyes. Why had she changed like this?
Could it be because of what happened that day, when I asked Shawn to find her, and she held a grudge?
Fiona was just about to explain what happened that day when South spoke up.
"Mother has nothing to do with the Foster Family, don’t even think about becoming related to them, it’s just a resemblance."
South’s voice was calm, showing no fascination with the words "Foster Family."
When at Lynch Manor, she was bewildered by Nathan Foster being introduced as her uncle. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
It was as if a thunderbolt had struck her, leaving her charred and confused.
She was just now starting to regain her composure.
She wanted to get close to Nathan Foster, but first, she needed to hold the initiative.
Not remain passive like she was now.
First, she needed to understand Nathan Foster’s motives for his actions.
Someone as controlling as Nathan Foster would not keep someone whose background he didn’t know by his side.
In the previous life, she was by his side for ten years; South didn’t believe Nathan hadn’t investigated her.
If he had investigated her, he would surely know about her parents and everything.
Putting oneself in his shoes, knowing she was his niece, if he could still pursue her, he’d have to be an extreme pervert.
Although Nathan was quite twisted, he wasn’t that extreme.
Now, with a clearer mind, South increasingly felt that there must be some conspiracy she was unaware of.
"But how could there be two people in the world who look so alike? Sister, could you be mistaken? And our mother sometimes forgets things, maybe she forgot her own origins."
Fiona was persistent, continuing to talk about it.
"Whatever, the Foster Family is at Regal Point Estates, you can go recognize an uncle there anytime," South said, then turned away, ignoring her and returned to her bedroom.
There must be some unknown hurdle here; Stella Foster indeed existed, and the news piece with Stella’s profile was from many years ago, and its publishing time couldn’t have been altered.
Even if Nathan Foster fabricated the album, the news piece was real.
The likelihood of mother being Stella Foster was very high.
South grew more and more headache-ridden, so she simply closed her eyes and stopped thinking about it.
Fiona saw that South ignored her and left her room feeling wronged.
That night, possibly due to the upheaval at the banquet, South had an extremely unsettled sleep.
She dreamt of her past life.
It was just after she got out of prison, and Nathan Foster brought her to Regal Point Estates.
She moved in with Seth, and with professional psychological treatment, Seth’s condition slowly stabilized.
South was prepared to become Nathan Foster’s lover because she had nothing else besides this body.
She couldn’t provide her brother with a stable life, couldn’t find him a professional doctor, nor could she reclaim The Grant Family from Miles Grant.
So she accepted Nathan Foster’s arrangement.
He wanted her body.
She wanted the capital to stand against The Grant Family!
And the dream she had tonight was of the first time after her release when he slept with her.
It truly was not a pleasant experience!
