Level Up: Voidwalker-Chapter 354: Everything Okay?
Atlas woke up the next morning, ready to continue to the first empire city to start creating chaos across the Achaemenid lands to help the Alliance who was gathering in the south. When stepping out of the tent, he noticed Artemis and Grishna sitting around the fire, the two women beamed at his appearence.
''How are we going to attack the city's handsome?'' the Orc beauty questioned.
''Sneak in obviously and using the monsters,'' Artemis answered for him, her brown eyes glowing with excitement.
The green-skinned beauty laughed at this and slapped her on the shoulder. ''Good, I want to kill more empire soldiers, they've destroyed my homeland and I will be the revenge that comes for them.''
Just then, Estelle's voice echoed from behind. ''We need a group to scout out the surrounding area. Lilith, Noora, Amethyst, Medusa, Zena and Nulia. You girls are Shifters, it will be better if you spread out, locating the enemy strongholds, camps and anything else before returning to us.''
''You just want Atlas to yourself,'' Lilith complained. ''If we do this, we all want a date night with him, that's the final word I'm saying on this matter.''
The other five women agreed with dramatic nods causing the blonde knight to put her foot down. ''We all deserve a date night but we're behind enemy lines, with Immortals and spies searching for us. Once we get to ssafety all nine of us will get a date and night.''
Everyone sighed but Grishna added, grinning ear to ear. ''It's only fair as me, Blondie and Shorty will have to walk with handsome.''
Artemis shook her head before retorting the the cheeky Orc. ''Oi! I'm only a few inches smaller then you bitch!''
The group began laughing and Atlas loved how everyone got on but soon the women agreed, only to start transforming into their other forms and rushing throughout the landscape. Once they were gone, Estelle sat next to him, smiling. ''We can leave in half an hour, let the sun come up fully.''
''Alright,'' he replied while taking a cup of tea from Artemis.
''This should warm you up,'' she said.
''Thank you, Arty,'' Atlas thanked the brunette.
Following that, the four of them relaxed for a while and he began packing away the tent in his storage as Artemis decided to scout ahead. Grishna covered the rear while Estelle stepped beside him. He looked at the beautiful blonde who gave him a warm smile. ''Ready to rip the heart of the empire apart? They won't be expecting you to hit them where it hurts?''
Atlas's eyes traveled down, where he big boobs jiggled with every movement. He shook his head and answered. ''Yes, I'm excited to return the favor. They've been hunting us for a while now and took over my homeland. Once we deal them a blow here it will force the emperor to turn his attention here.''
''Hopefully he falls for the trap after thinking you was a devil,'' she giggled. ''Look how hard they were searching for you.''
''It helps that I have my own army as well,'' Atlas added, amused by the way they were being chased by the empire. ''Once we meet their armies, we can destroy them without an issue.''
Following that, the four of them continued on their journey down a dirt road they found. While on it, Grishna sniffed the air only to come to a stop. ''There's monsters nearby, a big group.''
Artemis stopped first, taking out her sling and readying some mana bolts. The Orc woman prepared her spear while Estelle took out here sword but Atlas waved his hand, summoning a dozen Void Cave Bears that appeared from an azure portal that opened beside him. The creatures surrounded them, protecting the group from the lunging big cat.
One of the bears claws tore the monster apart, blood flying everywhere. More beasts rushed out of the undergrowth targetting the women. A crazy-looking moneky swiped at Estelle who parried it's claws before cutting it in half. Artemis began slinging Mana Bolts into more of the creatures.
They tore through the weaker E and D Ranked monsters. Atlas began casting blasts into the bigger foes that slipped passed the Cave Bears. His mana burrowing through the Gorilla-looking things tough hides. They collapsed to the ground with a smash thanks to being killed without knowing how.
Void Bolts and Blast flew everywhere, turning the attackers into dust just before a wave of purple fire turned them into ash as Amethyst landed in the middle of the fight, she transformed into her human form, Atlas landed in front of her, greeting the purple-haired beauty. ''Hello, beautiful. Everything okay?''
''There is an Achaemenid camp a few miles to the west,'' Amethyst revealed, a bright smile crossing her face. ''Looks like their preparing to invade more lands but we can attack them at night.''
When Atlas heard this his face lit up and he hugged the young woman. ''Thank you, I want to start getting on the nerves of the emperor. Astoria and the Alliance will be wiped out if another army makes it there.''
The women agreed as Amethyst shifted once again and took off, flying in another direction to scout out more empire positions. Following that, the four of them headed west and only stopping when coming across the camp the Phoenix beauty mentioned. It was full to the brim with soldiers.
Artemis and Grishna crouched beside him as the Orc commented. ''Are we attacking or your monsters?''
''What do you think?'' he replied.
''Monsters because we can get overwhlemed with how many enemies there are,'' Artemis added, readying her sling again.
Atlas agreed with the women and opened a portal, summoning hundreds of monsters that stood in the shadows waiting for his command. Seconds later, he gave it and they charged toward the Achaemenid camp. The creatures suprised the sentries who were instantly wiped out by some Dreadmaw Lions.
Bloodhawks descended from the sky with bone-chilling screeches, their razor-sharp talons glinting in the dim light as they dove toward the battlefield. With terrifying precision, they snatched soldiers from the ranks, hoisting them skyward as the men's desperate screams echoed across the blood-soaked plain.
The monstrous birds, their crimson streaked with ash, tore through the chaos, leaving trails of panic in their wake. As the assault intensified, the tide of battle shifted when Artemis, surged forward to join the fray. With a steely gaze and resolve, she unleashed a barrage of Mana Bolts, illuminating the battlefield in bursts of blinding light.
Atlas watched the projectiles sliced through the air like vengeful comets, effortlessly piercing the officers' reinforced armor and sowing disarray among the enemy lines. The once-orderly formations crumbled into pandemonium as commanders fell, their cries drowned out by the cacophony of war, while she pressed their advantage.
Grishna rushed out, spear swinging as she took down a group of soldiers that pinned a Cave Bear down, the tip pierced through metal and flesh with ease, blood flew everywhere as several gurgles were heard from behind her. She turned around only to see Estelle killing several mages that snuck up on her.
The battlefield was chaos, the air thick with the metallic tang of blood and the acrid smoke of scorched earth. The Bloodhawks, their crimson wings slicing through the twilight, continued their assault, diving with predatory grace to seize the remaining enemy soldiers.
One by one, the terrified men were plucked from the ground, their weapons clattering uselessly against the rocky terrain as the monstrous birds carried them aloft. The soldiers' screams grew fainter, swallowed by the wind, as the Bloodhawks tore into their prey, leaving only tattered remnants to rain down upon the shattered remnants of the enemy ranks.
On the ground, Artemis and the other two pressed their advantage, moving like specters through the carnage. Her Mana Bolts, now glowing with an almost vengeful intensity, streaked across the battlefield, each one finding its mark with devastating accuracy. The enemy soldiers, already broken by the aerial onslaught, stood no chance.
Those who tried to flee stumbled over the bodies of their fallen comrades, only to be met by the claws of Ghouls and other monsters, who struck like a well-honed blade. The women fought as one, their movements a deadly dance, cutting down the stragglers with ruthless efficiency.
The last of the enemy soldiers, a ragged cluster of survivors, attempted a desperate stand, their faces pale with exhaustion. They raised their shields, a pitiful barricade against the inevitable. But the Bloodhawks were unforgiving. With a deafening chorus of screeches, swooped down in a final assault, their talons ripping through steel and flesh alike.
The ground became a canvas of ruin, painted with the crimson of defeat. Artemis stood at the heart of the slaughter, her hands still crackling with residual mana, her eyes blazing as the final enemy fell silent. The battlefield grew still, save for the mournful wail of the wind and the distant cries of the Bloodhawks, circling above.
