Chapter 133: You Tear Through The Noise

Memories poured into Elias’s head in increasing frequency, threatening to drown his mind. His Ageless Echo had fully transformed into the body of the Void Echo, and he was holding in his hands something that had shrunken to the size of his previous Ageless Echo, and it resembled a brownish-red tumor with too many limbs that was screaming.

"THUD!"

The ground shook as the Ageless Echo fell to one knee; the mental strain of all these memories was nearly shattering his mind, and Elias knew that he was in grave danger, but he could not move.

Perhaps if he had been able to swallow the Void Echo when it was not aware, then he would retain a degree of control, but now that it was awake and actively fighting him, there was no way he would be able to win.

This creature was terribly smart; it had noticed Elias’s greatest weakness, and that was his youth and lack of life experience. Elias was eighteen, but this creature was so ancient that Elias could not put a number to its years.

Even if 99.9 percent of the memories of this creature were just darkness, the other .1 percent was filled with so much experience it would take Elias ten lifetimes to go through them, and it was these memories that the creature was using as a weapon.

Inside the Lumina Space of Elias, he had the advantage, but these memories were one of his weaknesses, and as he screamed in pain and shock, every piece of him fighting to control the flood of memories in his head, he knew that he was going to lose.

The void creature was no longer screaming; now it was beginning to laugh, and then it spoke,

"Neth’lyss tuu’vorr."

"We die together."

Elias did not respond as he focused on the part of his mind that was linked to the creature and began to smash into it with his will so he could tear it away from his consciousness. It would be like slicing part of his essence away, but at this point, it was his only option.

However, the Void Echo had already anticipated this, and its will encircled Elias’s own and strengthened it. It was ironic that this benefit would only lead to his ruin.

The Void creature in his hand was now glowing like a red sun, and with the amount of power that was gestating inside it, the resulting explosion would wipe out everything for countless miles.

"Is this where it ends? Then I guess I had a good run."

Elias’s Void Echo stopped screaming and focused on the memories pouring into his head, trying to find calm in the midst of the storm.

He had watched some of his prey, when, at the moment before they died, fell into uncontrollable panic. Elias would be aware that at that point, there was still a slight chance to turn their fate around if they could focus, but most of them did not, knowing they were about to die; all thoughts and common sense were thrown away, as they screamed, cried, and did everything else but think.

Fighting would not work; his strength was far from this creature, and if there was indeed any chance for his survival, it would be found inside the silence of his heart and the calm working of his mind. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

It was in this silence that he heard the sound of music.

The voice belonged to a woman, and it was soft yet contained such beauty that his eyes snapped open, and underneath the glare of the red sun he was holding in his hands, he looked into the distance and saw the beautiful woman in the palatial robe with her eyes open, and she was the one singing.

Elias had killed this woman inside the Fragment where she had been corrupted, and what he believed to be her soul and those of her children have come to reside on the edge of his infinite pools.

Beside them were hundreds of souls, all of them belonging to the cannibals that Elias had killed, and in this moment, all of the souls inside his Lumina Space were looking at him, and their eyes were glowing red from the light of the Void Echo that was on the brink of destruction.

With everything that had been happening around Elias, he had barely had the time to enter his Lumina Space and properly investigate the souls that had been gathering on his white sands.

He understood the reason he was holding all these souls was that he was collecting everything from those he killed, and if these souls were meant to return to somewhere, they could no longer go there.

Elias did not know their purpose or why they existed inside his Lumina Space, but the song of this woman gave him a glimpse of it.

He remembered what she had called him when he was killing her monstrous form inside the fragment. She had called him Thraem’voryn, which meant Broken One, and before that, she had also called him Thraem’grahn, which meant Broken God.

Elias did not think he was a god, nor did he have any ambition at this time to ever be a god, not that he would want to be a god when being an Ascendant was better. However, the song of this woman was a reminder that in this place, his greatest strength may not be his body, but what was contained inside his Lumina Space.

He could not fully control his talents or the Pillar of Divinity that he had assimilated with his body, and it was even hard for him to control it, but the souls inside this place were different, and whether it was by design or choice, the song of this woman had pierced through the flood of memories blasting his consciousness and he could feel a little bit of control entering his body.

Perhaps he was not a god, but in this place, he had the powers of one.

Using the last bit of power left inside of him, the Ageless Echo of Elias raised its massive head up and roared in the language of the lost that he had learned from this woman whose powers he was sure rivalled an Angel at her peak.

"Khrath’ul voryn’grahn na’keth... ssael’vyr!"

"Your broken god commands... sing!"

His powerful voice that emerged from the monstrous body of the Void Echo was like an earthquake given a voice or a storm that rages against the heavens.

His words were like a divine commandment, and none of the souls here were able to resist it, and so from hundreds of throats... from the mouths of the woman and her children and the hundred cannibals he had killed came a rising song that was less about words but more about emotions.

This sound cut through the noise of the memories bombarding his mind, and for a brief moment before the Void Echo poured more of its memories into Elias to suppress him, his body was free, and so without any hesitation, he brought his new wings forward, and the hundreds of arms on it seized both of his true hands and they pulled with all the power he had inside the body of his Ageless Echo.

With a sound that was sickening to hear, Elias tore off both of his arms, and with a cry of rage, his wings threw his severed arm into one of his infinite pools.
