LEVEL 0 IMMORTAL-Chapter 121: You Glimpse The Height of The Heavens
The Crimson Vein Dominion Art gave him four abilities, and each one was more exciting than the next. It gave him a means of attack, which was Blood Dominion Lash, Crimson Shroud, which gave him a passive Bleed Aura, Elias did not fully grasp what that meant, and the third ability, Hemorrhage Cascade, seemed to enhance the effect of the Bleed Aura, however, it seemed all these abilities served the last one, which was Sanguine Resonance that gave him 0.05% Vitality per gallon of blood spilled.
If Elias did not have his broken Elder Talent, Extreme Adaptability, which gave him a lot of Attributes, he would be stunned in place as he saw what Sanguine Resonance was capable of.
He needed to experiment with this ability to understand what it truly meant, but if he was reading this correctly, he should be able to steal a portion of the vitality of his opponents if he spilled a gallon of their blood.
0.05% of vitality stolen did not seem like much. For example, if this ability were used against him with close to 3,000 points in vitality, it would barely give him two points in vitality. That did not seem like much, but he was only thinking that he had only one gallon of blood to spare.
And yet, this was still looking down on the power of this ability; Elias had killed a lot of cannibals in this forest, and the blood they had bled would fill a pool. All of those combined should give him at least 20 to 30 points in vitality, and this was in one small battle.
Inside the Fragment of Divinity, any of those corrupted babies should possess vitality that was many times greater than these cannibals, and he may have harvested at least fifty to a hundred points of vitality from them.
And yet, he was only scratching the surface of what this power was capable of. Elias would never forget the vision of the Blood Sovereign that slaughtered an entire kingdom filled with hundreds of millions.
If these abilities were to grow in the future, meaning that he should be able to gain more vitality, the higher he progressed as a Siphon, and instead of 0.05, he could gain 2 to 5% of the vitality in the body of his targets, then how much vitality did the Blood Sovereign gain in a single stroke?
Elias had felt a bit complacent with the strength of his talent and his ridiculous abilities, but gaining these Lumina Arts had shown him that the waters of this world were truly deep.
He was not special, just more lucky than most, and it was extremely possible that there were others who were far luckier than he and possessed abilities he could not even comprehend.
The Commander had told him that before Elias gained his Lumina Art, she could have easily won against him, and he did not truly believe it, but now he did.
There were many ways to gain Attributes outside what was given from leveling up, and only those who had the right tools and privilege were privy to this secret, and if there was any arrogance in Elias’s mind before this moment, this last ability washed it away entirely.
Who knew what sort of crazy talent and crazier Lumina Art was out there? The world was so big, and he was still so small.
His last gamble, the Art of Stone, gave him the greatest surprise. Only after he had placed the core inside him did he see that it was sealed, and it surprised him that of all the Lumina Vein Art in his body, the Art of Stone gave him five abilities, yet four of these were sealed. One more ability than a so-called Heavenly Vein Art. There was no way the Art of Stone was a Common Grade Art.
Still, its core concept was simple... Endure. This one word carried a weight that was hard to describe, and the first and only ability it gave him, even in its sealed state, was a 45% physical damage resistance when he was armored.
This ability was not simple. On the surface, 45% physical damage reduction might not look like much in comparison to what the other Arts were giving him, but that was not placing the armor he was going to wear into the equation.
The work of armor was to protect and reduce incoming damage for the wearer, but that protection was not total. Eluas would need to research more on armor, but even the best armor could not give a hundred percent protection to the wearer. If he added the Stone Skin ability into the mix, then he may gain a near-total immunity against all physical damage.
This was an insane thing to consider when his healing and his overall durability were placed into the context. So much power had been gained in a single stroke, but it depended on his ability to hold it all together if he was going to be able to enjoy all of these fruits.
He had gained a new title and a new trait, but Elias knew that he had no time to check what they could do; he was already stretching his window of grace to the limit, and still, he double-checked that there was less than one hour before the Void Incursion would descend.
His mind worked much faster than it had ever done before, and all of these thoughts passed through it in a heartbeat.
The trembling from the footsteps of the Flesh Mauler stopped a few feet away from him, and the sound of the creature’s heartbeat was so loud that Elias’s hair was vibrating with the sound.
Elias opened his eyes, and their multiple colors were enchanting as they glowed with an inner light that reflected the fact that his body was still being forged.
The Flesh Mauler looked at Elias with its dead eyes, and without any indicator, it lunged, moving faster than anything that size should, a massive hand pulled back to fallen Elias with a single blow. The ground shattered under its step, as a claw the size of a man swept down, trailing fire that would melt rocks into slag.
With the speed of the attack, Elias could have dodged, but he did not. Grinning, he stepped forward and threw a punch.
His motion seemed relaxed, but Elias had combined all of the strengths of his body in the best way he could, and threw everything into this punch.
Fist and claw connected, and for a moment, it seemed as if the world itself flinched, then a shockwave erupted from their position, and the Flesh Mauler staggered back, its claw smoking and cracked.
Elias had not moved an inch, but his legs had been driven into the ground, nearly up to his knee, and the hand he had used to clash against the Flesh Mauler had shattered into pieces, leaving a jagged stump at his shoulders.
He turned to look at the stump, and before his eyes, bones, cartilage, blood vessels, and muscles regrew in the blink of an eye, and a new arm was born. The arm was perfect for a moment, and then the skin cracked, showing his glowing crimson veins beneath.
The attributes that should have been added to his body were being converted into healing energy, and Elias nodded to himself as he saw how quickly he had healed. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Still, this only showed him how terrifying his Forging was. If he could heal back an entire arm in less than a second, then it could only mean that his body was being held together by duct tape and wishes, and the moment this healing energy vanishes, he would most likely explode.
"Okay, Master Yseult was right to question my survival."
