Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 71: "IT" Descends Again
"Plot a course; my first move should be increasing my Rank Potential, followed by my Resistances, then I need to figure out how long I was unconscious; if it wasn’t too long, I don’t need to worry about Glacia right now, and can instead work on my situation first." Working his way through several calisthenic exercises to keep his blood flowing in a weak attempt to warm up, Aoni made a small checklist while keeping an eye on his Traveler’s Display.
"Last time, foo, my Rank was too high to upgrade, yet my Attribute Potential cost me 25 points with a 5-point bonus," in the middle of jumping jacks, the Lad analyzed his situation while trying to figure out the cost of his next upgrade.
’Based on how things are turning out with my other statistics, I can only assume that the upgrade will cost me 50 points with a 10-point return. Care to chime in?’ Swapping back to his internal monologue, Aoni asked for his Attribute Notice’s input, and sure enough…

’This piece of shit still won’t give me answers…well, if it didn’t get replaced, that means it won’t be 50 points.’ Huffing out a cold blast of air, the Lad, left with no other option for gathering information, spoke out the mental command for an upgrade.
’Increase my Rank Potential.’ The moment he did so, Aoni’s attention shifted away from his TD and instantly to the heavy and dense pressure falling from the sky above down onto him.

’This again…’ feeling his knees and ankles strain under the weight from above, the Lad tried to fight back against it and stand up fully, but it was almost as if this pressure was demanding him to kneel before its might.
’What…is…it,’ with bloodshot eyes and clenched teeth, Aoni fought back, yet soon enough, he found himself dropping down to one knee, feeling as if 10s of thousands of pounds were forcing his body to the ground.
Strangely enough, although stifling, the pressure didn’t cause him any physical pain, and without any agonizing presence, the Lad found the time to take note of his surroundings. That was how he caught sight of a strange occurrence out of the corner of his eye.
All of the snow was rapidly melting, and that’s when it dawned on him that this pressure must be so intense that it generates ample amounts of heat and may be the cause of what happened to the several feet of snow formerly covering the platform outside of the cave, along with the heat inside.
Exhaling in short, sharp breaths, like a pilot would while under heavy amounts of G-force, Aoni pushed with all his strength to stand back up, only to fail and end up on both knees right as the mysterious pressure disappeared, appearing to mock his efforts.
"Damn it; this is the third time now this shit’s happened; who knows how many other times I’ve been subjected to this outside force, NOT ME because I always seem to be unconc…GLACIA!" Thinking back to how every time he woke up, the ball of fluff seemed petrified; it dawned on Aoni that this must have happened more times than he had noticed.
’If you have any idea, I’d love to hear them…’ crossing his fingers and hoping this time he would get a real answer from his AN, Aoni once again was let down by his illusive not-so-helpful helper and ended up dropping onto his ass while staring up at the sky.
Staying like that for several minutes, more to gather himself than anything else, Aoni eventually exhaled loudly and smacked his cheeks.
"The best thing I can do is hope that it will all be revealed in time; maybe it’s like those novels where I’m too weak to learn about its origin, thus shouldn’t; either way, there isn’t much point in worrying about what it is…however, I can definitely trigger it again for experimental purposes."
Jumping up to his feet, Aoni raced to the edge of the platform before coming to an abrupt halt…because he suddenly realized he didn’t feel as cold as before.
While standing on the edge of the platform, the Lad’s eyes darted to where his TD was located, and after a short examination, he realized the only changes were to his Potential and, of course, his progress points.
"O..kay, that’s weird. Did I just need some time to acclimate to my Elementalized Energia, or did that pressure somehow integrate it better…" Noting that he had lost 35 points but gained 10 back, Aoni stared down at his hands in confusion before coming up with a reckless idea.
Spinning around on his heel and nearly slipping on a puddle of melted snow, Aoni sprinted over toward his cooled dinner and began chowing down.
However, unlike before, where he stopped after six bites, this time, he persisted until everything was gone, and frankly, he believed he was about to die.
Not because he was so full his stomach was in danger, but because he felt so bloated with Energia that he was on the edge of a messy death.
"Oh God, ahhhh, this was dumb," Straining to move even an inch and experiencing the worst case of heartburn in his life, Aoni’s eyes drifted toward the notification he had seen earlier, which had appeared after his 5th bite of food.

’Ima die….ooof, at this…ugh…rate! Do it, damn it, convert my Overabundance of Energia into Elementalized Energia!’ Practically screaming the command in his head and seeing his vision tunnel out, Aoni could only pray that his idiotic idea was gonna work because if not…well when Glacia woke up…she was gonna be VERY confused as to why there was a massive red blotch where her food was cooked.

Like a cartoon character, upon reading the last two lines of text, Aoni’s eyes nearly burst out of his head as if made with rubber, and just like that, the first part of his reckless plan worked out stunningly well.
