Legendary Traveler: By Earning Progress Points I will Become Supreme!-Chapter 186: The Bet
For the next short while, after revealing his Crafter's Display, Aoni took some time explaining the defenses of his territory and all the things he'd built. Through this conversation, the Thurston family was able to get a relatively good grasp on his situation over at Genovia, and overall, they were quite pleased with the results.
However, something was bugging them, and that was how, if the mountain was so dangerous and filled with monsters, he had survived the barrier coming down, and when it came to explaining that Aoni was in a difficult position.
On the one hand, he felt that it was unnecessary to explain the new barrier, while at the same time, his Attribute Notice repeatedly advised against it.
It was one thing to admit to having an adaptive barrier that only allowed monsters weaker than the Territory Lord to enter its confines and another to talk about how it was created altogether.
Especially when Aoni still has no idea how it came to be.
Sure, he had some hints about it being a product of an ability he would have access to at some point in his Traveler Journey, but that's it. There are hints, but there is no solid proof.
Then there was his Summons, his beloved Floof and Birb… they brought along a whole different set of problems. On record, the only things Aoni got from the Flume were useless junk items and then two swords.
For two beings to suddenly be thrown into the mix, beings who could apparently get stronger beyond their printed information on the Summon's Display would shatter the entire status quo.
To be honest, Aoni knew that eventually, people would stumble upon his territory, or better yet, that his family may come to visit or something. Still, now that he was being worked into the Thurston Family Retreat Plan, it could happen at any time.
I don't have to explain why telling the User's family unit about Summon: Glacia and Summon: Nyria is a bad idea
'Yeah, I got that part. Still, the issue lies in the fact that I can't explain their growth. If I had a window of when they would show up, I could explain them off as new, high-grade Summons; however, swinging by for a quick look now and then in a few months would be devastating because they'd no doubt notice the rapid growth of my Summons.'
There are millions and billions of possible explanations and diversionary tactics that can be used to explain a Summon's explosive growth, mainly Evolution or special unique resources, so to some extent, in the early stages at least, it would be easy to explain
However, every species or race has a hard growth limit. Fortunately, that will never be the case for the User because all you need to do is add points, as it has been named
'Are you saying I can tell them?'
It has been decided that there is no threat to the User's Growth if they choose to reveal the existence of Summon: Glacia and Summon: Nyria to the Thurston Family
"Sigh," Heaving his fiftieth sigh since waking up that morning, Aoni leaned forward and propped his elbows up on the table, drawing everyone's attention because they had a feeling he was about to say something important.
Well, everyone except Archie, who was clacking away on a tablet, and Clara, who wouldn't stop petting the trousers Aoni had brought back to the table.
"So soft, so soft, so soft," Clara whispered while being ignored by everyone else.
"Clearing out the monster tide that occurred after my Newbie Barrier collapsed wasn't something I did alone. Well, I take that back; the Cavern clearing was all me, and let's just say that was difficult, but as for the other monsters…that job fell to my Summons, Nyria, a species of Artic Bird with a high level of intelligence, along with an Affinity for Ice Magic…and my first summon Glacia…let's just call her a baby Yeti-Bear."
Going around the table, Aoni met the eyes of each member of his family one by one, judging their reaction to his words, only to realize there wasn't a whole lot for him to find apart from acknowledgment.
"I knew it. Pay up," Cathy said in a cheerful tone while extending a hand around Archie toward Ant.
"Tsk, shit, of course Cathy was right, damn," Smacking his lips and digging into his pocket, Anthony slapped a crisp 50 CryptoDollar bill into his younger sister's hand, having lost a bet.
Meanwhile, Lea and Jason shook their heads before smiling at Aoni.
"Uh…not the response I was expecting…" Utterly confused because he truly believed everyone would freak out, Aoni sat there like a deer in headlights until a certain BroCon slapped him on the back.
"My Dearest Baby brother, we all knew you were hiding something; it's not like you have a good poker face. There was even a family betting pool going on about how you pulled it off! Cathy over there said you probably had some powerful summons and, using your Attribute, crafted some weird artifact to hide their presence in your Summon's Display."

"I said you found a treasure that created a safezone around your territory!" Pausing mid-typing and raising his hand, Archie added.
"Mom and Dad believed you were strong enough to handle it all on your own." Pointing at their parents, Clara continued.
"For me, it was that there weren't that many monsters in the first place, and then Ant…"
"I can take care of explaining myself; I simply said there was an outside factor involved that took care of the beast tide." Shooting his sister a glare, Anthony ran his tongue along the inside of his bottom lip and rolled his eyes.
'If only they knew that basically, everyone was collectively right…' Lost in the moment, Aoni felt his whole body rock forward as Clara continued smacking him over and over before; eventually, he grew annoyed enough to move slightly, angle his body, and deliver a savage karate chop right to the top of her head.
THWAP
"WILL YOU KNOCK IT OFF!"
"Ahhh, owie, you HIT ME!" Staring at Aoni with horror in her teary emerald eyes, Clara looked no different from an innocent child who couldn't understand why she was being punished.
