Legendary Shelter Survival Guide-Chapter 216: The start of a little chaos
Lucas was moving ahead toward a dense forest, a forest that at first looked dangerous but Lucas had started seeing it as his home. He was not scared of it at all no matter how many peculiar things he found in it.
Behind him was a small band of people, one of them was a burly man, a man that could frighten any small child with his size and face.
Next was an elegant woman with a not-very-expressive face. She was looking in the skies and her eyes were flashing with emotions as if she was seeing things.
Next to her was a sweet-looking girl who had her cute little determined face on, she was looking everywhere in vigilance which was not needed much as they had another guy.
A guy who could not be seen with normal eyes, a guy who was not moving in the normal plain but the dark one, swimming in the shadows looking at things with a perspective that was downright opposite to the ones who were normal.
The last one was a mature beautiful lady, she had a staff in her hand that no matter how one looked at, it was a healing staff with the exterior properties it had. her presence exuded warmth. Something that everyone yearned for in a time like this.
The small yet very dangerous group was moving while observing the marks on the trees, these marks were just small clean slashes from a dagger yet Lucas had a very special set of eyes.
Observing things with a perspective that was different from the others was what the skill was all about.
They moved in silence, feeling and observing the beauty of the forest while traveling.
The fact of no insects had become a relief for many, people who were repellant from the idea of going to a jungle just because of insects were now happily in these places enjoying and traveling.
Lucas had no idea how things worked in this place, he knew that while insects looked very disgusting in one hand, they were actually important for the ecosystem, he didn’t know the rocket science behind it but some basics things were clear.
They had traveled for hours on end without stopping, the speed was so normal that no one’s feat hurt, no one sweat at all being that the temperature was so nice in the big and dense forest.
"We are near."
Lucas heard a distant voice from a shadow near him, he got the creeps but he had already established the fact that this was going to happen many times. Getting accustomed was the least he had to do.
Lucas stopped and showed the hand, meaning the other had to stop too. Leader’s order.
"How far?" Lucas asked toward a different shadow than before making the other look at it too.
"… Another 5 minutes. Then you will start seeing them."
"You remember the drill right? Go with the musket and get ready." Lucas said and without any other words, went forward again.
NOt many shared the same sentiments of being excited, it had been a long time since some of them had fought. Especially Ella, Sandra and Sarah. They were in the shelter this whole month.
Only Jerry seemed excited other than Lucas, trying his best to not let out a manly giggle.
They traveled for another few minutes until Lucas saw what they had waited to see for many hours.
The Kobolds.
Lucas averted his gaze, something that he was told to do when he saw them by Bill.
His killing intent and sharp gaze was too threatening for any specie just like Kobolds.
While the others hid behind trees and bushes to look a them, Lucas first calmed his nerves with some breathers and looked again.

The Kobolds were the same looking as before, their eyes that of a snake, their face like a crocodile and body like a human. They were the embodiment of a cross between and lizard and a human.
Only one thing was different. The Kobolds looked even more strong and big than before making Sarah feel like why were they even here to fight such creatures.
Before anyone could look, Bill was on top of one of the tall trees. A musket in his hand while he channeled many points of mana inside it.
"He went to the tree top so fast…" Sarah muttered while being shocked.
"There are a lot of shadows in the tree top among the branches." Lucas said and looked at the Kobolds yet again who had no idea that they were even there.
The Kobolds were either on the ground lazying or were in groups talking. From afar, Lucas couldn’t hear them but he was hoping to have an interaction soon.
If Duke could speak with his menial intelligence, these Kobolds were way more intelligent.
Lucas was happy with one thing, not a single Kobold had a weapon but in the middle of all those leaves, he felt something that made him activate his perceptive eyes skill.
"Hahaha…."

"What is it?"
"They got a lot of gold and equipment under the leaves. It’s like a treasure chest without the chest." Lucas said, his eyes glowing while looking at the KObolds.
His greed got the better of him and it was the first time the KObolds looked in their direction.
While the others had a jerk in their body.
Lucas had a huge ear-to-ear grin on his face while looking at them. He moved his hands together and clapped a little hard one time.
This time, many Kobolds reacted yet it was a little late.
BANG!
A bullet shot from above the tree on one of the branches where Bill had a chance to accurately shoot.
PUCHI!
The bullet directly went inside the neck of one of the Kobolds that was in a group.
Blood spurted out of the neck as the Kobold held the wound with its hand. Its eyes looked wider but still small just like the others.
Yet it did not scream but made a small shrieky noise that died down soon.
