Legendary Battle Pet-Chapter 234 - Old Friend
The little dragon's words hit him quite hard.
"Fine, you've got some nerve! How about this: help me this time, and if you can trace the whereabouts of this person and take me there, I'll give you 10 jin of Nine Heavens Breath Soil, how about that?"
Nine Heavens Breath Soil is an extremely rare type of soil. Dragons love to lay it beneath themselves when they sleep.
Upon hearing this, the little dragon was visibly tempted, but it did not agree immediately. Instead, it snorted, "15 jin, not an ounce less!"
It had Azlan thoroughly cornered. It knew that Azlan was anxious and frustrated at this moment, making it an excellent opportunity to extort a sum.
"Alright, it's settled then."
The price increased by 5 jin, and although Azlan felt a pang of pain at the cost, he agreed to the little dragon's proposal in his urgency to pursue the thief.
"Alright, let me calculate."
The little dragon immediately closed its eyes. Being a Dragon, it had exceptionally strong detection capabilities. Quickly, it tracked the trajectory of the Sky Piercing Black eagle.
"I know where it is," the little dragon said.
"Then take me there quickly. I must catch this thief personally and skin them alive!" Azlan gritted his teeth and immediately leaped toward the dragon's back.
However, the little dragon dodged quickly, leaving Azlan grasping at air.
"What are you doing? You said you'd take me there, and now you're refusing to carry me. Are you trying to back out?" Azlan shouted angrily.
Although he needed the little dragon's help, as the patriarch of the Vast Tribe, he wasn't someone to be trifled with. The little dragon's behavior fueled his anger.
"I'm not backing out; I truly cannot take you there."
The little dragon's tone carried a sense of seriousness.
"Why? Give me a reason," Azlan demanded, noticing the change in the little dragon's expression and forcing himself to stay calm to get to the bottom of it.
"Because I'm afraid to go there. The fruit thief is too powerful," the little dragon said bluntly, its voice heavy. freёwebnoѵel.com
Huh? Upon hearing this, Azlan's expression changed drastically.
He was well aware of the little dragon's strength; if it came to a fight, the little dragon and he were evenly matched. Now the little dragon was saying it was afraid. Could it be that the thief is a gold level powerhouse?
"I don't believe it! Gold level powerhouses haven't appeared in our Western Plains for a long time. How could it be such a coincidence that one would show up now, and steal my Enlightenment Fruit? I think you're just being lazy, you tricky dragon!" Azlan shouted angrily.
"Believe it or not, I have only one thing to say: you'd better not go either, or you will die," the little dragon warned with heavy emphasis.
Seeing the little dragon's firm conviction, Azlan was momentarily undecided. His earlier disbelief was largely to test the little dragon. In his heart, Azlan knew that the little dragon never lied.
"Could there really be a gold level powerhouse?" Azlan's expression was grim.
Although he was the strongest in the Vast Tribe and a figure of influence, he understood that if he truly faced a gold level powerhouse, he might not even know how he died.
Yet, he was unwilling to let the hard earned Enlightenment Fruits be stolen just like that.
"The only option now is to seek help from Lord Holy Totem..." Azlan immediately turned and swiftly headed toward the family's altar.
"My Nine Heavens Breath Soil!"
Seeing Azlan eager to leave, the little dragon quickly spoke up.
"Are you done yet? I won't forget! I'll give it to you tonight!" Azlan shouted.
With that, he no longer paid attention to the little dragon and rushed into the family altar like a gust of wind.
...
In the skies over the Vast Tribe, the Sky Piercing Black eagle was flying rapidly. His silhouette, like a streak of light, was heading towards the Endless Abyss.
This time, he had successfully obtained the Enlightenment Fruits and was very satisfied. As he flew at high speed, he suddenly noticed a Blue bird spreading its wings and coming towards him.
Seeing the Blue bird, the Sky Piercing Black eagle abruptly halted. He hovered steadily in mid air, waiting for the Blue bird to approach. Moments later, the Blue bird drew near.
"Old friend, long time no see."
Looking at the large Blue bird in front of him, the Sky Piercing Black eagle showed a hint of nostalgia in his eyes and smiled.
Upon hearing this, the Blue bird retorted, "Who's your friend? Sky Piercing Black Eagle, it's been years, and your arrogance hasn't diminished since the old days. You dare to be so audacious as to steal from my Vast Tribe! Do you really think you can disregard me, Snow Storm?"
The Blue bird, named Snow Storm, was the sacred totem of the Vast Tribe. Upon receiving Azlan's report, it immediately rushed to the location determined by the little dragon.
Indeed, just before the Sky Piercing Black eagle could leave the Vast Tribe's airspace, Snow Storm intercepted him.
"Haha, am I that arrogant? But you, after not seeing each other for years, still speak without restraint at first sight. Did you eat gunpowder?"
The Sky Piercing Black eagle retorted immediately, showing no courtesy.
"You!"
Upon hearing this, Snow Storm was furious. In the past, Snow Storm had a deep grudge against the Sky Piercing Black Eagle, desiring nothing more than to eliminate him.
Though both eventually submitted to the Wu God and promised not to fight each other, the resentment in their hearts did not diminish over time.
Now, with the Sky Piercing Black Eagle stealing the Enlightenment Fruit, it added new grievances to old enmities, making Snow Storm grit its teeth in anger.
"Sky Piercing Black Eagle, I won't waste words with you. If you don't leave the Enlightenment Fruit today, we will have a showdown!" Snow Storm threatened.
