Legendary Architect of Apocalypse-Chapter 167: Unexpected Guest
If Astralious truly merged with the Ice Phoenix Flames, then Elias could easily suppress the fragile consciousness of the flames and make them his own.
Even if Astralious were freed from the prison of his mind, he could still be controlled through the Creation Control Skill, as long as he was merged with something like the flames.
Elias didn't have to worry about losing a precious material like the flames.
The flames trembled suddenly, as if they could understand what Elias was talking about. Based purely on instinct, the flames grew even more scared.
They didn't want to lose their consciousness, or the semblance of freedom that they still possessed. To protect themselves, they moved straight to Elias's hands and accepted him as their master, even though they were still scared of him.
For the first time, the flames on the surface made contact with his fingers, of their own accord. The core began disintegrating, and the blue flames covered Elias before he could even blink.
His entire body was engulfed in fire, but he didn't feel any pain. He didn't feel burning, or even cold. Instead, it felt extremely soothing, like being embraced in a soft blanket.
The Frozen Tree of Flames above the tomb also started burning brighter, and a blue, flaming bird materialized on a tree branch. The bird absorbed the flames of the tree and shone even brighter.
It spread its wings wide and rose into the sky amidst the fascinated gazes of all the Professors stationed around the tomb.
Every bit of essence that the flames had released on the surface was absorbed by the bird, which flew straight inside the tomb.

It passed from one wall to another, taking every single speck of flame in its path, like a customer collecting every bit of money from the bank.
"Did the Flames select their new master?"
"Hurry up and inform the Dean!"
Soon, the bird reached the boss room and passed through the door.
"Watch out!" Astralious called out in shock when he saw the terrifying bird fly towards Elias.
The bird struck Elias and entered straight inside his body, along with the core essence. It flew straight inside his heart, but within a second, it moved out like a frightened rabbit.
The flames were meant to form a core within Elias's heart, like they had done with their previous master. But something had frightened them a lot
Instead of making a home in his heart, they started forming a new core on the right side of his chest. The flames around his body started gathering within the new core that was marked with his blood, accepting him as the new master.
Astralious observed the scene. He was relieved that Elias wasn't harmed, but there was still a feeling of loss in his heart. If he could become a part of the phoenix core, could he truly be revived?
Even if that was true, it was too late as the flames accepted Elias.
'It is not as if I could have succeeded. Didn't he say that if the merger fails, all Materials are destroyed?'
He shook his head, and stopped thinking about it. There were already too many regrets in his heart. He didn't want any more regrets about what could have been.
He turned to the mirror, with the smoke almost dispersing completely.
"She is still alive?" In the mirror, he caught a vague silhouette that became more clear with each passing second.
It was the little girl that was struck with so many explosives. To his dismay, she was still alive.
"Just what kind of monster is she? After all that, she only lost an arm?" he mumbled at the sight of the girl who was missing her left arm.
There were also a few more wounds across her body, but they stood out less than her missing arm.
Even with that, she didn't groan in pain. She was more concerned about the missing Ice Phoenix Core that she had just seen.
She searched across the room, but the orb was nowhere to be found. It even made her wonder if the core was destroyed in the explosion?
"No, someone was here!"
She quickly rushed out of the hall, to catch up with the person that might have taken the orb, unaware that the person hadn't taken that exit.
She treaded back through the passage that everyone had taken to reach this place, but other than the corpses, she couldn't find anyone, no matter how frantically she searched.
She soon reached the hall where the doors were present. Elias was hiding behind one of the doors, but with the myriad of spatial passages that the doors connected to, it was impossible for her to find him.
She saw the lifeless girl sitting on the ground with her back resting against the wall, covered by Elias's robe that he wore before switching to a new one.
"This is the same scent." She walked closer to the girl, and picked up the robe. Even though it was a faint trace, she was certain that it was the same.
"Where is that pers-" She suddenly jumped back, as a rock fell above, where she was standing before.
Cracks rose amidst the walls, and the entire tomb trembled even more fiercely.
Once the phoenix flames chose the owner, the tomb had finished serving the purpose for which it was prepared. It started breaking apart, as if trying to erase every trace of it ever being present.
Spatial energy surrounded the girl, and sent her out of the tomb. The tomb used its last bits to send the students out, even if they were in the form of a corpse.
One after another, bodies started disappearing from the tomb, and appeared at random places outside, with the teleportation being unstable.
The last person to be teleported out was Elias, who had just finished making the Ice Phoenix Flames his own. Before he could be sent out, he quickly grabbed the pocket watch.
Outside the tomb, many people were waiting for the students to return, including Freya and Jeskirin.
Strangely enough, Jeskirin was less focused on the tomb. His gaze remained on one man, who had arrived uninvited. His usual arrogance was nowhere to be seen before that person.
Instead, there was raw hostility, as the person was the Patriarch of the Ashborn Family.
