"Indeed as you spoke, Secretary Mimosa!! Indeed, my behavior wasn’t up to my rank and position!! For that, I apologize!! This is something that should not have happened, more so when we are in the middle of a battle that could decide whether we live or die!! This was presumption on my part no matter what!!" Jarkon said with an apologetic face!!

That stunned the others!! Completely!!

Special Commander Zyth’s face bore a look of disbelief, his mouth wide open like his eyes!! He thought in his mind, full of doubtfulness, ’Wh—what is this son of a gun doing?? What happened to him? Did that inner demon of his have such an effect that it completely changed him??’

Other Minotaur higher officer felt the same. They all thought this person—who is known to be arrogant and unapologetic no matter what happens—is in fact backing down and apologizing!! Did the sun rise from another direction!!? Oh sorry, they are in space, so what "rising of the sun"!!

General Agronas was thoughtless, still stunned, for he knew the character of Jarkon!! He was, first and foremost, extremely arrogant!! Second, unapologetic!! Third, prideful!! But here, all those things were completely gone!!

It made the General doubt his Special Fire Domain. That domain was composed of not only the Law of Fire, but also the Law of Soul!! Meanwhile, Secretary of the Defensive Forces Mimosa was baffled at what was happening in front of him!! It was shocking!!

Forget the reality ,never in his dreams would he have thought that a child like Jarkon—who he knew would be definitely infuriated by his words—would do anything but lash out. Jarkon, seeing that, smiled and continued—not giving Mimosa a chance to stabilize his thoughts at all. "Going back to your main question!! Indeed, Secretary Mimosa, I do know the forces that are currently attacking us and brutally killing our fellows as we speak!!"

As if to emphasize his point, he pointed toward the battlefield not far from the Star Battle Fortress. There, a battle cruiser had already had its shields brought down by an intense attack!! Its frontal hull had taken many hits, its armor already damaged and even its thrusters barely functioning!!

Then, a bright, massive energy bullet landed on the hull, tearing through it and entering the ship, disappearing from their sight!! Just then, the whole ship burst forth from the inside in an explosion!! Many escape pods launched, but they were still caught in the aftermath and exploded all the same...

"The situation we all face now is something I faced exactly at the hands of those Void Fleeters back during my deployment to the Rigid Star System! I was tasked, along with my fleet, the 7th Light Fleet, to..."

And just like that, Jarkon began telling them where he encountered the Void Fleet and how it all started!! He told them of how his fleet waited at the Rigid Star System for the mana storm surrounding the Soul Region to calm down so they could eventually capture it. He spoke of how they suddenly encountered a surprise attack they were not prepared for!!

He told them how his 7th Light Fleet faced complete annihilation!! He spoke of how he suffered at the hands of the Void Fleeters, who belonged to the human race, until he finally escaped!!

"What happened to me was a reaction to the trauma I developed going through such an experience—one that I hope never to encounter again. But sadly, as if fate is playing a game with me, I am placed once again in front of those Void Humans who have taken an oath to wipe out our race!!" Jarkon said.

A shiver passed through his back while his body trembled for others to see, making them believe his fear was genuine!!

"So, that is how I encountered the Void Humans!! Back then, they barely made up a count of a thousand ships!! But now we face ten thousand!! I am most confident that this growth of their strength in but a month could happen because of only a few things: either they have deployed their complete strength, or the legacy left by the Ancient Race is this great, if not more!!"

Jarkon calmed himself down and stopped, looking at each fellow Minotaur. Commander Zyth and the others were looking at him with serious, yet weird faces!! Some reacted with stunned silence!! Others even showed fear, but most had expressions of doubt!! Yes, doubt!!

They didn’t hold that doubt in their stomachs but spilled it out for all to hear.

"Humans?? How could it be humans!! Impossible!!"

Someone even more daring stepped up and asked in a doubtful yet respectful tone, "Vice Admiral, are you mistaken somehow!! How could they be humans?? Maybe they could be another humanoid race?? One that resembles humans??"

"Yes, this could be so!!" others spoke up in support.

While a few others asked totally different questions: "Why were we not aware of such a big thing? The destruction of the 7th Light Fleet is not a small thing! Why weren’t we made aware of it by the Council??"

Mimosa, too, was curious as to why even he wasn’t aware of such a big event happening in the Minotaur clan!! He wanted to know, but more than that—he was a bit terrified!! He felt the horror of what had happened to the Seventh Light Fleet, and a dark thought appeared in his mind as he looked at the unfolding battles.

He watched the destruction of one frigate-class ship after another, while others suffered heavy damage, barely surviving under the cover of the remaining ships. Could... could the situation here be even more horrendous than what happened to the Seventh Light Fleet??

He was terrified at the thought, but with all his willpower, he ensured his expression didn’t change!! Internally, however, he was shaking. How could it be possible?? Between the Seventh Light Fleet and the fleet here at Horn Star, the difference in strength and numbers was as vast as the heavens and the earth!! Jarkon, who was secretly paying attention to Secretary Mimosa the whole time, found a flicker of fear passing through the man’s eyes!! Though his body and facial expression remained unchanged, his eyes were different; they told Jarkon that the seed of fear had been planted!!

Seeing that, he smirked. Heh, old man!! After all, everyone fears death, and you—no matter how powerful your position is—are still the same!! Good, good... this is my chance to strike while the iron is hot....

"Everyone!!" Jarkon spoke thoroughly, making the murmurs stop immediately!! Everyone’s focus shifted to him once again; Mimosa and the others were no exception to this at all!!

"Speak in turn!! First, I will say this: I have not hallucinated!! They indeed belonged to the human race!! But that strength isn’t their own. As I said, the inheritance of an Ancient Race has somehow fallen into their hands!! And they have used it to strengthen themselves!!"
