Duality of Shadows-Chapter 1025: Awakening
Two small particles of opposite colors stealthily infiltrated millions of universes. The space-time miracle didn’t need to be used; instead, they relied on their control over the power of the Heaven’s Will, which they had learned to master over the years. Being insignificant fragments, they could move wherever they wanted with ease.
As they crossed the formation, they came upon a barrier of golden runes that enveloped everything in all the universes. The queen spared no effort in creating this immense and terrifying formation; after all, she obviously didn’t spend thirty million years standing still.
However, much of that power came from the crown. Alm and Bruno were merely fragments of souls, but the power of the Primordial Chaos Pillar wasn’t just tied to the body and the Tree of Chaos. After all, their bodies were no longer physical and had fused with their own existence. Even while keeping their bodies intact from afar, they still possessed a fraction of the pillar’s power.
As they approached that golden energy, they simply ignored it and passed through. Soon, in millions of places at the same time, they found themselves in the space of the universes.
Alm and Bruno had become more experienced in using their power, but perfectly controlling millions of fragments was impossible for any being. This only made the mission harder; the two could only give synchronized commands for all their parts to execute the actions together.
’So... what’s the plan?’ Bruno muttered next to Alm in one of the universes.
Alm retorted, ’Plan? Wasn’t it you who wanted to save everyone?’
’Me? We were one, the decision was joint.’ Bruno said dryly. ’Be honest for once, damn it. We can’t fail now, this is the decisive moment. We need to think of something fast!’
The two kept putting themselves in chaotic situations, and these types of words were always said. Alm snorted and retorted, ’Yeah, the pressing haste, hastily pressing the haste.’
The two small light fragments moved in sync across all the universes, approaching some galaxies.
It didn’t take long before the sight everywhere was once again overtaken by golden light. All the galaxies radiated this glow, for on all the planets with life, nearly everyone was connected to the formation, which had been activated at its maximum power.
As they neared the planets, they slowly descended onto one...
The sight was almost identical everywhere—macabre, to say the least. A dense blood fog hung over the surface, tinting the air with an oppressive, suffocating hue. All around, bodies lay scattered like dead leaves after a storm... they looked like zombies, but they were alive.
Before, they had lived their lives normally—until the queen activated the formation and their lives were turned upside down.
A golden rune pulsed on each of their foreheads, as if it were burning their souls from within. Their bodies were rigid, evidence of the agony they were enduring. Veins bulged under their skin, twisted, as though something were crushing them from the inside. Their wide eyes and expressions of pure suffering marked their faces.
A few could manage muffled, guttural grunts, but they were empty sounds, hopeless, as if even the pain was slowly draining away. The blood, mixed with vital energy, flowed out of their bodies in a slow, steady stream, feeding the formation through the connection with the golden runes on their foreheads.
In millions of universes, on countless planets, the same horror was unfolding. Every intelligent form of life, without exception, was trapped in this endless torment. Only plants and creatures that couldn’t cultivate themselves were spared—like mere spectators; but even they trembled in fear, hidden away.
The people were conscious. Their minds screamed in despair, realizing too late the truth that had always been before them: they were never free. They had been slaves from the start. Now, they were being consumed, slowly and mercilessly, for a purpose they didn’t even understand.
And the worst part? They knew. They knew death was coming... but it would not hurry.
The two opposite fragments hovered in the skies of the planets, watching the scene. Only ten minutes had passed since the invasion.
’The situation is as bad as we imagined...’ Alm murmured coldly. ’It’s your time to shine. Our only chance is to put everything into a single shot.’
Bruno snorted. They needed to be accepted by all, to the point where their collective will could create the power of faith. That was the basis of the law: people directed their hope and conviction, releasing their three vital energies, which condensed to form this power.
Once created, this power behaved like a message with a sender. It flowed and connected to the heavenly laws, which then directed it to its true owner. But crossing universes took time, and this power ended up accumulating in the underworld.
’Who would’ve thought this random power, which we got because Ruri thought it’d be fun to have people worship us, would end up being the key to our final victory...’ Bruno murmured.
’You’ll have to help this time! Don’t even think about running away! I’m you, and you know I only acted to create a seed of hope in people. My performance was always exaggerated and ridiculous, it only worked temporarily because people were desperate. After I gave them so much, they truly started to worship us.’
Alm snorted reluctantly. But he knew exactly what Bruno was planning. This time, they couldn’t just act and take risks. To fully convince everyone, instinctively they knew what they had to do.
It was something from the Omega they had become. This time, they had to be completely honest.

The two light fragments, scattered across all the universes, began to shine slowly. The glow increased more and more, until they looked like stars in the sky, amidst the golden formation and the red of the blood.
Suddenly, the fragments emitted a wave of intense light, like a sun, which expanded. They burned all the power of the celestial soul in one go, sparing nothing.
The light shattered and spread in all directions, like a meteor shower. But its speed transcended space-time. In just a few minutes, each planet in all the millions of universes received a part of that light.
Then... it was like the heavens opened on every planet.
All forms of life felt a gentle breeze touch their faces, calming them. Without realizing it, they regained some movement and turned their gazes toward the sky.
There was nothing up there, really. But everyone, even those inside buildings or places where the sky wasn’t visible, saw it directly with their souls, not with their eyes.
The image was simple and clear, as if they were very close.
Two figures stood high, gazing at them lightly. One emitted a pure celestial Yang aura; the other, a dense and oppressive black Yang.
No one felt fear, actually... everyone felt a warmth in their chest when they looked at them. They were like immeasurable shadows, two parts of the same thing, perfectly synchronized and in harmony.
Alm was the first. He let out a long sigh, then waved, and everyone saw quick images pass before their eyes.
They were scenes of a nefarious villain refining entire galaxies, people screaming in despair and dying in agony... all while he watched with a faint, eerie smile on his face.
It was quick, and when it ended, his voice echoed in everyone’s mind: "This is me, and this is my past. Surely some of you did something similar, on a smaller scale. As you can see, I’m no different from anyone else. But... it was only after walking down that wicked path that I found the way to get where I am now. All paths eventually lead to the same place. I won’t deny my past. I’ve learned to value life because I’ve lived it. Anyway... I’m not good with words. I’ve done everything you can imagine of someone without salvation. But I’m willing to try to save everyone if you believe in me."
He fell silent, and a few seconds passed. No one responded, because no one could.
Bruno waved, and then different images flowed into everyone’s mind. They were current images, of people in every universe, suffering in the same way they were. Only then did these people realize that this wasn’t something restricted to their planet. It was happening to countless others... even worse, it was happening in numerous universes!
"Just to make it clear, he and I are the same," Bruno spoke softly. "Most of you must’ve heard about the Sacred Goddess. She’s the one doing this to everyone... but, as you can see, we’re not much better than her. Maybe only the scale is different."
"Well, we came here because we want to save you, even without a guarantee that we’ll succeed... we’re still too weak to defeat her directly, but we will go to the end to try. If you believe in us with all your will, there’s a chance we can save everyone. You have one minute to decide. After that, we will disappear forever."
Bruno finished, and the image of the two, in everyone’s mind, began to slowly blur. It was clear their power was running out.
The two stood still, waiting. Their eyes were focused on the people, and internally, they were hoping they would believe in them.
At every moment, they only thought about saving them, and then attacking the queen with all their current power. They had chosen a foolish route, just to save them. They truly wanted to avoid so many innocent deaths; so much so that it never occurred to them that this could be a way to pay their karma.
They did what they could... there was no way to be more aggressive, or the queen would notice. They also didn’t have enough power to do anything much better. They were just fragments with little power.
But...
Even though they didn’t understand how, the power of Omega within them acted subtly. Everyone felt, deep inside themselves, their genuine and pure will to help.
Who cared about their past? No cultivator was a saint. Not even a mortal; they just didn’t remember their past lives.
Suddenly, the bloody mist on the planets changed.
Small bright spots of celestial blue flowed from the people. It was just a tiny drop from each one, managing to escape the chains the queen used to bind them.
That blue rose to the heavens, and the gold was eclipsed. Everything converged to one place in the universes... to two tiny points nearly disappearing, who were internally astonished by the perfect result.
Bruno snapped out of his stupor. They only had a few seconds to act. He smiled and manipulated that immense mass of faith power.
Ciceya, even being a deity, had managed to study this law at the immortal level. This power seemed to be an exception for deities because it didn’t come from them, but from their followers.
After so long, Bruno had received days of explanations from her. Now, he knew how to manipulate it perfectly.
The power of faith left a subtle connection with the believers. Through this connection with the people, he infiltrated their bodies. Then, he moved stealthily, going straight to the golden rune that connected them to the formation.
"I’m in!"
Bruno spoke excitedly mentally, and Alm sighed heavily. In sync, both of them used all the remaining power they had to give them strength.
Suddenly, in a central and immense universe—the only one where people weren’t going through that—the queen opened her eyes alarmed!
She felt the danger and immediately tried to cut the connection between the universes and the formation, separating them. But...
Her eyes trembled, and she immediately vomited a lot of blood. Her soul within the formation was destroyed, everything collapsed. She was completely terrified. How the hell did this happen?
Suddenly...
In the underworld.
The whale opened his eyes.
In his inner universe, everyone noticed his consciousness returning to his body. Ruri and Meru’s eyes shone like stars.
Ruri smiled and said, "Only half an hour? Hehehe, master was excited this time."
**RUMBLE!!**
As her words echoed, a powerful sound reverberated. The entire inner universe trembled.
Time seemed to hesitate.
An indescribable weight fell upon everything, as if existence itself was being rewritten in that moment. The laws of the world trembled...
Then, everyone saw.
At the top of the Tree of Chaos, something pulsed.
The darkness there was as thick as black ink. It was karma so vast and impenetrable that staring directly at it froze the soul. Until...
Cracks spread through that darkness, thin and white like fractures, intertwining like spider webs, expanding more and more.
And then... light broke through from within the cracks.
Not just any light. Not light that merely illuminated.
It was something supreme. Something that existed before the very idea of light and darkness.
Everyone’s hearts pounded like war drums. Blood boiled in their veins, the sensation was overwhelming.
Then, as if it were just a fleeting thought, all the black karma... disappeared.
And in its place, a vision appeared that no one would ever forget.
Before everyone’s eyes, a lotus with a thousand petals gently spun.
Each petal was a different color, a hue that seemed to contain entire worlds within it. The mere movement of that flower made everyone’s souls vibrate irregularly, as if they were just echoes of something much greater, something at the very epicenter of creation itself.
*Bang!*
A muffled sound echoed.
It wasn’t deafening, but it didn’t stay in that place.
It was heard everywhere in the world.
In all universes.
In all forms of life.
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
*Bang!*
It repeated several times, and no one could count. They were muffled cracks. And with each impact, everyone felt as if something were being born. Something beyond comprehension.
Then... silence.
Time seemed to stop.
The whale took a deep breath... and his body faded... disappearing completely.
In that moment, the Eternal Chaos of the world felt it.
All the existing laws became static. It wasn’t just a pause. It was as if something beyond Heaven’s Will, beyond the very heavenly laws, was undergoing its awakening.
’Sovereign of Eternal Chaos? I think that’s a title only for her.’
Alm spoke, feeling that everything was beneath him now. They broke through all restrictions and levels immediately, reaching, in theory, the same realm as the queen.
Bruno nodded slowly, and his creative mind began to think.
’Sounds right.’ he said, feeling something vast and boundless pulse within them. ’We’ll call ours… The One Beyond Chaos.’
