Chapter 87: Prepare Yourself

"You are scarier than Slav." Darius stared at the man, and he took a step back, trying to process all that was happening in front of him.

"So what are you?" Darius was still examining the man in front of him, he knew that there was no way for him to be a normal warrior.

"Did you face Slav and lose, or did something bring you here?"

The man chuckled. He was amused by the type of man Darius was and how he was able to handle something like this.

"I have never seen a warrior like you before," He said, looking at Darius. He leaned closer, looking at our young warrior..

"You seem to be getting physically stronger, too. All this is a sign that you are doing your best."

Darius rolled his eyes, he took another step back.

"Best?"

He was looking at the man, there was nothing coming to his mind immediately, but the fact that there was a lot happening around him.

"If I were doing my best, then by now I should know how I am going to deal with the stupid children of the abyss hanging around to enter this world."

Darius sounded worried; he knew what would happen if he was going to face those creatures, even though Slav told him that they wouldn’t be a problem. He had seen how strong Slav was and how he was able to handle Pryion and the other champions.

"I just don’t know if I am ready..."

The man was looking at the young warrior speak so sadly, he ruffled his hair a bit, almost like a man trying to console a child.

"What’s this talk about being ready?" He spoke slowly, looking at our young warrior, it was almost like he was trying to push him back on his feet.

"Life is always filled with unpredictable turns of events, and if you keep trying to get ready for it all, they will swallow you up whole."

Darius looked up to look at the man, he couldn’t help but feel some kind of strange connection to a man he had only seen twice.

"One thing I would love to tell you is that if you keep waiting for yourself to be ready for the next big step, then that step might be the one to kill you."

Darius was standing there, and he looked at his hands. He slowly formed a fist.

"So what do I do?" He turned to the man again.

The man was a bit silent, he let out a sigh.

"Prepare yourself for every situation, both good and bad, always make sure you won’t be pulled into anything harsh."

Darius was looking at the man, his Ashbone coloured hair was something else, but he couldn’t shake off the feeling that he knew the man from somewhere.

The man was looking around, he then turned to Darius.

"I think it is time for you to head back now, you need to help your friends."

He extended his hand to shake Darius, the young warrior looked at his hand, then, slowly shifted his gaze back to the man in front of him. He couldn’t put a finger on why he felt like that, but he knew there was something he didn’t see there.

"I know this might sound stupid, but can you tell me who you are?"

He was looking at the man, trying to see if he was going to be able to get him to spill the beans on who he was.

The man let out a slight chuckle. He was looking at Darius, and he could see what the young warrior wanted.

"I know you are eager to know who I am, but it is not yet time for you to know who I am; there is so much you need to do first."

Darius was looking at him, he couldn’t even think of anything else to ask, but knowing that there was trouble outside and he needed to make sure that nothing would put him in trouble.

’Maybe sooner or later, I will find out who you are and then things might be a bit clearer for me.’

Darius thought to himself as he extended his hand to shake the man.

Immediately their hands touched, Darius noticed that he could now see the man’s mouth and not only his eyes.

"Stay strong, Darius Winters, until we meet again. By then, I know you should be stronger."

Almost immediately, Darius was covered with a wave of pure power, which felt calm and welcoming, and Darius could feel the power’s warmth as he was taken out of the dimension.

The man stood there looking at him vanish, he could only smile as he saw the young warrior fade away.

"You seriously think that warrior is going to be someone like you?" A voice came from behind the man.

He had a soft smile, turning to look in the direction of the voice.

"Maybe he is, after all, he is already making the divine shake in their thrones. Besides, wasn’t he able to make you see that already?"

The voice had a slight chuckle, it sounded more like an evil dictator going through his evil plans. "Tell me, Great one, what do you see in him?"

The man paused and looked at the owner of the voice. "Well, let’s say I see bits of me in him. Don’t you agree with me, Slav?"

Back in the real world...

Pryion stood there guarding Theo and Raya as they were still unconscious. He looked around and felt something coming.

"More of those stupid Orcs? Don’t they get tired?’ The knight was looking in the direction of the forest, he was ready to take them down.

He felt something else, he turned to look in the opposite direction.

"Someone is coming here, this being isn’t an orc. If I didn’t know better, I would say it’s my Liege coming here. But this power isn’t yet close to his."

Pryion then turned to the place where he had left Darius.

"Speaking of my Liege, he is about to wake up."

Almost immediately, Nathan Cruz, Michael Krigg, and the Transponder with them arrived at the spot. They were shocked to see all the dead Orcs and a seven-foot-tall knight standing in front of them.

The Transponder looked to the side of the knight and saw the two warriors lying there unconscious.

"This is bad, Theo Sung and Raya Tegeshi are out cold!" He yelled, looking at Michael and Nathan.

Michael smiled a bit, and he took a stance.

"Tell me, is this knight part of the warriors who followed us in here?" He asked, looking at the knight, preparing to pounce.

"No, he looks like a monster if you ask me." The Transponder replied, and Michael’s smile widened.

"Then I will make sure I kill this monster!"

Pryion was still looking at them, not moving a muscle or even trying to say anything, almost like he was observing what the man would do.

"Golden Bullet!" Michael yelled before he launched himself at the knight to land a blow on the knight.

The impact caused another massive shockwave. Pryion only caught the warrior’s fist, he was trying not to fight him.

"Oh, this monster has power, doesn’t he? Must be the boss!" Michael sounded ecstatic, he was looking at Pryion.

The knight had no interest in what the warrior was trying to do, but if he pushed him, then he wouldn’t hesitate to kill him.

"You shouldn’t start a fight you can win," Pryion said in a cold and distant voice.

"What’s this? You think there is a world where you would be able to win me?"

Michael laughed. he pulled his fist away from the knight. Looking at him, he had a devious smile on his face.

"Now then, let’s dance knighty!"

Pryion stood at the same spot, not uttering a word. He only sighed and stared at the warrior with a cold and domineering gaze.

"If you wish for your death, then take another wrong step."
