Chapter 126: Untapped Power And Questions

Slav landed on his back; he had ruined a few shelves when he landed. He had a smile on his face, knowing that Darius had tapped into a part of his strength that he had been keeping dormant for a long time.

"So, you finally want to play?"

Slav sprung up, his eyes glowing bright blue.

"Are you ready?!" Slav yelled, looking at Darius; he was ready to strike, and it wasn’t going to be an easy fight.

Darius took his stance; he wasn’t going to let him get a hit on him like that.

"I don’t know what you are trying to do, but bring it!!!"

Slav took his stance, raising both his hands.

"Evio-Ashu!"

Slav yelled, and suddenly it was as if the entire corridor was being rearranged. Darius was looking at the sage, and he knew that there was going to be something that he wouldn’t be able to handle.

Darius took his stance, and his left arm and eyes began to emit a bright jade glow.

Slav lunged for Darius; our young warrior was fast enough to dodge the attack.

He held his ground against the Sage; it was faster than before with the spell on.

"Dammit!" Darius cursed out of frustration; he didn’t know what was going on but the main fact was...

He had to survive...

Realizing that he was in a tight spot, Darius waved his left hand, and suddenly it felt like there was a surge of power.

’Yagari Enizo- Begone!’

Darius conjured a spell in his mind; it was not what he expected.

The spell pushed Slav back a bit. The basilisk sage was looking at the young warrior.

"You’re a fast learner, but the beings you’re going to face won’t give you the time to think!"

Slav clapped his hands together, releasing a powerful shockwave that pushed Darius back.

"Asha, Gi No!" Slav yelled. Suddenly the gravity around the entire library increased by eight times. Darius was being pushed down.

It was a great crushing strength; he didn’t even know how he was going to be able to push past it. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"You’re going to be facing stronger opponents; they aren’t the type of beings that would give you the chance to think. And even if they did, you will still not have enough space to plan an attack!"

Slav didn’t waste time to kick Darius up; our young warrior was stuck mid-air.

His eyes on Slav, he managed to catch himself midway.

’Disperse!’

He managed to conjure another spell; the gravity in the room went back to normal.

Slav had a smile on his face when he saw what Darius could do; he didn’t know that the warrior would be able to take down something like that immediately.

"I’ll give it to you; you adapt even on the battlefield." Slav cracked his knuckles, walking close to Darius.

"You will be facing Beri and Urus. They aren’t forces anyone would want to imagine fighting, so I will tell you this now!"

Slav, in a split second, appeared in front of Darisu.

"What the—" Our young warrior was shocked; there was no way he would have expected the sage to be that fast.

"They aren’t going to be nice— Hurian Aizo!"

Darius was pushed back by a faster, sharper wave. It was so much stronger than the others it packed more than a punch.

Darius crashed into shelves; he looked up, and it was then that it started to dawn on him.

’Is this training?’

He didn’t know what to call it, but it was clear that Slav wasn’t fighting to kill, but it felt like he was trying to get him to evolve.

"What is your target with all this?" Darius got up; he was looking at Slav, trying to see if he would understand what was going on in his mind.

Slav was looking at the young warrior; he didn’t utter a word, looking at the boy.

"You’re trying to know what I am up to?" He had his brow raised, slowly walking close to the warrior.

Darius took a step back; he didn’t know what would come next, but then, looking at Slav, he felt something odd.

He gritted his teeth, taking his stance there. He knew that there was something that would come out of him trying to face Slav that way.

"You aren’t fighting like you want to kill me; you are fighting like you want me to get stronger."

Slav stopped walking, looking at the warrior; a devious grin took form on his face.

"So, you want to know what might be my real plan or main reason behind this?"

He was looking at Darius; his eyes were sharp, and he was ready to pounce on him.

"You don’t know what it is for me to be doing this with you." Slav took his stance, looking at Darius.

"I will tell you, if you are able to land an attack on me that should be able to take me down."

Slav moved his foot; suddenly Darius felt something odd.

"Akizi No Zi!"

Darius felt himself being pulled to Slav; there wasn’t anything picking him up, but then it felt like a hand was taking him to Slav.

Darius stood his ground; he was looking at the sage. He knew there was no easy way for him to bypass the attack, but then he looked up to see what Slav was trying to do.

’Shit, shit!’ He looked up, looking around; he knew that there was no way for the disperse spell to break the pull.

"You know that there are going to be stronger spells than this from Urus; he isn’t going to let you even have a moment to think."

Slav had his hand up; he was the one controlling the pull. It wasn’t an ordinary pull; he was trying to get him close at any cost.

"This is going to hurt, so i will advise that you brace yourself and get ready to take this blow..."

Slav closed his palm, pulling Darius close to him, but when Darius got close to Slav,.

He did something that not even the sage would have expected to see.

"Banta Konori!"

Darius used a spell to push himself back once he was at a safer distance. He looked at Slav.

"Akizi No Zi!"

He pulled Slav closer to him; it was a calculated attack. Darius kicked him back a few feet; he didn’t even waste time pulling Slav by his leg and then flinging him across the room.

Slav landed on the other side of the room; he landed on his back. Looking up at the void space above them, a smile on his face.

"You are adapting mid-battle; this isn’t something you would see anywhere!"

Slav sprung back up; he was looking at Darius.

"You are an unpredictable white-haired warrior; I don’t know if I am to get angry or if I am going to praise you!"

Darius was trying to catch his breath; he had dispersed Slav’s spell and managed to push him back.

"So you think that there is going to be a chance for you to tell me what you are trying to do with me?"

Slav was looking at the boy; he began stroking his chin. He didn’t know what he was going to do immediately, but looking at Darius, he knew that it would be better if he told him what he wanted to know.

"You see, there are some things I wouldn’t do if I wasn’t told to."

Slav looked up; the smile on his face slowly faded away.

"Darius Winters, you are in the middle of something that would decide the very fate of the universe."

The sage took a seat on the floor; he crossed his legs together.

"You know that there is going to be a problem if you aren’t going to be able to get stronger, and the more you try to push it back, then you will face the backlash of everything else."

Darius was puzzled; looking at Slav, he could see that the being wasn’t trying to hide anything.

"I am confused here; isn’t the Children of the Abyss the only problem I am going to be facing now?"

"Hmmph, even if you do defeat them, there are still evil beings out there that will come for you. They are going to be stronger and faster than the others; they aren’t going to be giving you the chance to get a breather, and you will not even get the chance to stand back and run. The only thing you will do is stand there and lose."

Filled with fear Darius was looking at Slav; he didn’t know what was going to come of him. He was looking at the sage, filled with fear and many questions in his head, none of which he knew if there was going to be an answer to.

Slav looked at the warrior; he smiled as he scratched his head.

"You should be fine." He said the young warrior was looking at him, big, shocked, and confused.

"He chose you after all, and I think I am beginning to see why."
