Last Ruler Of The Empty Throne-Chapter 51: Skills
The last orb,
[TELEKINESIS (SECOND REALM) LEVEL 5: YOU CAN CONTROL MOVEMENT OF ANYTHING WITHIN 50 METERSEFFECT: VECTOR CONTROL: USE 200 POINTS TO CONTROL SPACE]
"WHATTTTTTT!" This time, he roared and fell on his butt on the ground from the bed he was on.
The Beast Lord, who was outside, rushed inside again, trying to figure out what the problem was, but Jon was still in a daze.
"Vector, vectors, vectors." He kept repeating the word as if he were possessed.
If anything, he knew about vectors more than anyone in this camp. He was a physics student before the fall, and if there was anything with one of the widest and broadest concepts, it was vectors.
It had a lot of divisions, but if one wanted to summarize it, it was controlling points in space.
Space was a figurative way of saying everything, because everything existed in space, and everything had certain points, every single object or person. There were points of space around them.
Now, one could only wonder what he could do with the skill. It was only after about ten minutes that he finally showed signs of calming down.
The shock was too profound for him.
"What the hell?" He still couldn’t believe it. He hadn’t shown this kind of excitement with the rod or the crafting spirit, but with this.
"But the mana consumption is crazy." He clicked his tongue in sadness, but he was still happy.
He now had about 900 points of mana, and this was already taking 200 points per use, but he still felt it wasn’t enough.
Suddenly, he started feeling that his mana capacity was too small. Before, he had no reason to worry about running out of mana, but now he felt that if he wasn’t careful, he could lose his life.
It would be crazy to lose his life because he couldn’t finish using his skills, right?
He had only one First Realm core and about thirty Unranked Realm cores, and though they wouldn’t be useful in evolving any of his skills, they would be useful in his blacksmithing and crafting.
’So, after going to the blacksmith, I should join the attack team.’ He suddenly found himself planning a schedule and then registered it with his ’Mind World’ to alert him at various intervals.
Now it was time to see the full details of the skills he had acquired during his evolution and those he hadn’t seen the full descriptions of previously.
[YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE SKILL ’DREAM SCROLL’]
[’DREAM SCROLL’ (SECOND REALM) LEVEL 5: USING 30 POINTS OF MANA, YOU CAN READ THE HISTORY OF AN OBJECT TO AN EXTENT.EFFECT: USING 50 POINTS OF MANA, YOU CAN READ SPECIFIC MEMORIES OF A TARGET.]
"I’m curious. If the Second Realm can be like this, then what about the Third and Fourth Realms, if they exist?" His anticipation about this end-of-the-world scenario was starting to excite him more and more.
There was something he had always wanted to see the history of. He activated the skill on his watch, and the history appeared in the form of a message.
[????? ?? WATCH (???? REALM):??????? IS AN ANCIENT RELIC, FROM THE ***???? OF THE??? ***** ERROR]
"Why am I not surprised?" He looked at the watch with a dumbfounded expression. "But now I know it’s an ancient relic. But how ancient are we talking?" Without delaying or trying to find something he couldn’t, he moved on to the second item.
[YOU HAVE OBTAINED THE TRAIT ’MOON PATH’]
[’MOON PATH’ (THIRD REALM): YOU CAN USE THE ENERGY OF THE MOON MORE EFFICIENTLY, NATURALLY.EFFECT: YOU ARE IMMUNE TO ATTACKS RELATED TO THE MIND. YOU CAN UNDERSTAND MYSTERY, DREAMS, AND THE UNCONSCIOUS BETTER.]
"Hmm... this trait is more like a passive effect than something I have to use mana for, and it means a lot of things if I look at them separately." He kept talking to himself as he read the screen.
Then he moved to the next skill:
[MOON (SECOND REALM) LEVEL 1: YOU CAN CONTROL THE CONSCIOUSNESS OF A TARGET AT A HIGHER LEVEL, WITHIN THE SCOPE OF YOUR UNDERSTANDING.EFFECT: USING 50 POINTS OF MANA, SEE THE VISION OF A TARGET.]
"Ah, consciousness." The system kept telling him about consciousness, and honestly, he still didn’t understand what it meant. Now it was reminding him that it was still relevant. The only thing he could do was stop or cut off the connection between the body and mind, but he didn’t know more.
And now he felt he could do it on a larger scale, though that was still all he knew about it.Since he didn’t fully understand, he put it aside and moved to the next:
[MOON GAZING (SECOND REALM) LEVEL 1: USING 30 POINTS OF MANA, YOU CAN READ THE INTENTIONS OF A TARGET.EFFECT: USING YOUR MANA WITH YOUR WILL, YOU CAN SEE MORE.]
"See more? But I can already see plenty." He couldn’t understand what it was trying to convey.
And surprisingly, it was the Beast Lord, who still hadn’t left, who answered him.
"It means understanding why something is as it is, why the world is the way it is, why the body functions the way it does."
Jon gazed at the Beast Lord for a moment; he was surprisingly knowledgeable in these kinds of matters. Jon then nodded at him. He had just needed a clue and had now gotten one, so he understood the whole picture.
After this, he would ask the Beast Lord the questions he had been holding off.
[REGENERATION (SECOND REALM) LEVEL 1: YOUR HEALTH INCREASES BY 300.EFFECT: USING 100 POINTS OF MANA, YOU CAN REGENERATE A PART OF YOUR BODY]
The description was short, but the skill was invaluable. He didn’t know the kinds of battles he would face in the future, but he liked knowing he had a skill to fall back on if he lost a part of his body.
It sounded crazy, but that was the way it was. And with that, he had checked out the orbs and the skills. All that remained were the books he had found on his watch.
Since one of them had gone up in flames, he now had nine left. Then he just read the descriptions on the front covers instead of opening each of them.
Understanding of Monster Cooking
Introduction to Array
Basic Use and Application of Mana
Basic Building Techniques
Understanding Blacksmithing
Introduction to Alchemy
Body Structures and Mana Circuits
Blood Vessels and Arteries
Basic Healing and Appliance
"This is..." The books surprised him so much. He hadn’t checked them before, and he didn’t know they were there.
But there was no rush; he would first finish the book he was reading and then move on to other things.
Now, he finally had time to ask his questions. He turned to the Beast Lord and asked, "Who are you?"
The Beast Lord replied as plainly as possible, "I am Gar’al."
"Gar’al? That’s not a common name. Where did you come from?"
"I found myself waking up one day and surviving with the rest of us who called ourselves ’Lords,’ and you know the rest."
Jon narrowed his eyes. The answers sounded so sincere and short that he doubted it.But then he remembered, it was his watch that showed him, and it was ancient. So, he wondered, ’Is this among the mysteries the skill told him about?’
It wasn’t strange to relate mystery and the ancient together. Saying mystery meant unknown, and ancient could also be unknown. He even used the effect of his Moon Gaze, but nothing clicked.
"Haa, so what do you want to do, Gar’al?" He sighed after thinking for a while.
"I don’t know either, same way you don’t."
"How do you know that?" Jon’s eyes narrowed—not in suspicion but pure curiosity.
"You would have taken over this camp by now," Gar’al replied casually.
"Now you’re making me so curious. Do you know me from somewhere?"
"I haven’t; I’m sure, but it’s strange for me too."
Gar’al didn’t know why he was acting the way he was.
"I just want to create a safe place, so I don’t have to see the people I care about die or get hurt." Jon started rambling about what he wanted to do.
"Then what is stopping you?" Gar’al was curious about the reason. Jon was by far the strongest now, and if he alone wanted to capture that camp, it was possible.
"I don’t know. I’m not sure."
"Hmm..." Gar’al couldn’t think of anything else to say and kept quiet.
Then, Jon suddenly stretched the hammer and gave it to him. "Take it. I don’t need it."
"Thank you." Gar’al’s eyes sparked as he saw the hammer. He took it without hesitation; he must have liked it that much.
"RONALD!" he shouted towards the door.
"HIEEE..." Ronald, who was behind the door, freaked out. It was no surprise he was there, after all; Jon’s previous scream was loud. So naturally, he too was curious about what was going on.
"Come in," Jon said, his voice turning softer. Then, after a while, the door creaked open, and Ronald walked in.
"Y-Yes."
Jon immediately activated his Moon Gaze with his will and gazed at Ronald. "Hmm... so your attitude turned into a trait." It seemed this was what the system meant by ’see more.’
In front of him, Ronald was practically bare.
"Uwahhh." Ronald suddenly felt uncomfortable with the look and aura coming from Jon.
"Who are you?" Jon asked the same question he had asked Gar’al.
"Hieee... I-I am Ronald Patrick." Ronald cried with all his willpower before collapsing on the floor. Others couldn’t see it, but he was laid bare before Jon. And he could tell that Ronald was getting stronger just by acting as himself, cowardly.
It was crazy, but that was the power of a trait formed from one’s attitude and character. If it was a weakness before the fall, after the fall, it became and would become his greatest strength. He was even using willpower without realizing it.
Something Jon’s martial skills told him about.
"Take this." Jon then threw the dagger to Ronald.
"T-T-Thank you."
Then, with all said and done, he stood up from the bed and walked towards the door.
"I’m going to the blacksmith now."
