Laid-Back Life in Tokyo: I Really Didn't Want to Work Hard-Chapter 788 - 470: What You Can’t Have Always Stirs
November 8th, Saturday, the weather is still sunny and the temperature is pleasant.
Today I’m going to keep the promise with that guy, Todaka Keichiro.
Uesugi Sakura went out with Hanamaru Hanabi, and they got on the train at Shirokane Takanawa Station.
As the train swayed, Uesugi Sakura scooted a bit closer to Hanamaru Hanabi and took the chance to ask her:
"What’s my current favorability rating?"
Hanamaru Hanabi thought for a moment, then said to him: "-15."
Hearing her say this number with her cute voice, although it was still negative, at least it had improved a little.
Uesugi Sakura felt comforted and said with a smile, "Was it because I was nice to you yesterday?"
"Well... not really that nice, it’s just..." Hanamaru Hanabi suddenly stopped talking.
"Just what?" Uesugi Sakura leaned forward to her.
"Not telling you, Sakura!"
"Then, at a favorability of -15, can I get a hug?"
"No," Hanamaru Hanabi looked at him and said, "Sakura-kun, what are you thinking? Holding hands needs a favorability of 70, for a hug, it obviously needs to be higher."
She looked at herself, while Uesugi Sakura looked at her hand.
Apart from warming her hands a bit yesterday, and touching her once or twice, he hadn’t touched her these days.
At night he still slept on the sofa, if he wanted to smell her scent, he’d have to bring over her stuffed shark to hug to catch that sweet fragrance.
Uesugi Sakura really missed the times when she cuddled into his arms, rubbing her head shyly and playfully.
Just a light touch would make her face turn red and shy away.
"Hana-chan~"
"Mm..." Hanamaru Hanabi replied weakly. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"I like you, you’re my favorite."
Hanamaru Hanabi turned her face away and no longer looked at him, murmuring softly, "Even if Sakura-kun keeps confessing, Hanabi won’t be swayed."
"Really?" Uesugi Sakura continued whispering in her ear, "Hana-chan, you don’t know how much I like you. Hana-chan, your face, your hair, your silky strands, your little hands, I like them all so much, you know that? Last night while sleeping, when I hugged the shark, I dreamt of you."
"Sakura-kun..." Hanamaru Hanabi reached out to push him away, interrupting what he was saying.
"Feeling shy?"
"Not at all..."
"You say that, but your face has already given you away."
Hearing his words, Hanamaru Hanabi turned her face away further, her eyes evading, and she shifted her feet to move a little further away from him.
The sound of the moving train filled the air, Uesugi Sakura looked at his wife, who was slightly further away, a spontaneous smile appeared on his face.
Outside the train window, the scenery was gradually passing by, and her little dress swayed gently with the rocking of the carriage.
She buried half of her face in the beige scarf around her neck, hiding from him, not wanting him to see her shy look that left her without words to counter.
At that moment, Uesugi Sakura suddenly felt that just watching her from a distance like this was quite nice.
Just looking at her filled his heart with a sweet sense of happiness.
My wife is so cute.
...
The train arrived at the station, and Uesugi Sakura waited for Hanamaru Hanabi who stepped out of the train after him.
Amid the crowd of people, he moved to her side.
The two began to move toward the train exit, stepping onto the escalator.
"Can we hold hands now?" Uesugi Sakura deliberately lowered his voice so the people around couldn’t hear their conversation.
Hanamaru Hanabi’s left hand’s fingers moved slightly toward him but quickly retracted, clasping with her other little hand, and said in an even smaller voice:
"No... no, if we hold hands... the favorability won’t mean anything..."
"This is an exception," Uesugi Sakura persisted.
"No exceptions..."
Not achieving his goal of holding hands, Uesugi Sakura didn’t feel a bit of failure, because he saw how cute Hanabi was, and just seeing that was a gain.
"Then what about yesterday?"
"Yesterday... was yesterday... today... is today... different."
Uesugi Sakura guessed she couldn’t explain what was different, just talking for the sake of talking, regardless of logic.
Oh well, whatever the wife says is okay, even though she wouldn’t let him call her wife now.
Walking out of the station with Hanabi, Uesugi Sakura suddenly remembered... Hanabi seemed to rarely call him husband.
Why is that?
Because the term husband is more intimate than Sakura-kun?
Just as Uesugi Sakura thought to ask Hanabi, Todaka Keichiro appeared on the street not far away, waving to the two of them.
Kobashi Rikai was also there, though she stood a little further from Todaka Keichiro.
The group exchanged greetings upon meeting.
Hanamaru Hanabi had seen Kobashi Rikai a few times at school, so they knew each other but weren’t familiar, making their greeting somewhat awkward.
Hanabi was much more familiar with Kobashi as they saw each other every day in the café, though they hardly spoke.
The group agreed to head to the shopping street first.
The two girls who needed to get more acquainted walked ahead.
"So, what’s the plan for today?" Walking behind, Uesugi Sakura asked Todaka Keichiro beside him.
"Uesugi, what do you think is the most romantic place in Tokyo?" Todaka Keichiro asked back, looking quite the proper university student today.
"Skytree Tower?"
"Wrong."
"Disneyland?"
"Wrong."
"Then what is it?" Uesugi Sakura stopped guessing.
"The cinema."
"..." Uesugi paused for two seconds, "Not as good as Skytree Tower."
"We can go to Skytree Tower later, but the movie tickets," Todaka Keichiro took four tickets out of his pocket, "Haha, I bought the movie tickets in advance, four people, just right."
