Chapter 412: A father and his daughters.

"I cannot eat anymore." Mei Mei said to Jun Yi when she started feeling like her stomach had bulged a little too much to the point of explosion. "A picnic is supposed to be a light snacking event, not a full five course meal. I might have to pretend to have a broken leg as well and be carried by the bodyguards."

"Someone." Jun Yi shouted. "Come and carry my sister because she lacks the ability to control her mouth."

Mei Mei gave a little shout, rolled on the blanket once and covered Jun Yi’s mouth. She never expected her silly younger sister to shout something so ridiculous.

Jun Yi mumbled something that Mei Mei did not hear.

"Hey, Jun Yi do you think that you are some kind of empress or princess and if you shout "someone," a person will actually show up to do your bidding?" Mei Mei removed her hand from her sister’s cheek and pinched it.

Two bodyguards and Muyang showed up!

Jun Yi smiled victoriously. "We have a dad, we don’t need to be royalty."

Muyang’s eyes moved from one daughter to another. "What happened? Who needs to be carried? Please do not tell me that we have had another accident of some kind or else I will begin thinking that the bad luck of the Mo’s is following us around."

Mei Mei laughed. Of all the people in the world that could accuse the Mo’s of having bad luck, their family should not be on the list. They were the ones that engineered most of the bad luck the family was facing.

"I heard the old man died." Muyang started as he sat down next to them. "Why didn’t you tell us this?"

"I am the one that told dad." Rose shared as she sat down.

They shifted slightly and formed a circle: a father and his daughters.

"It was not important." Mei Mei answered, reaching her hand out to get some more dessert. The hand was swatted by Rose. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

"You have eaten enough Mei Mei, anymore and Thunder will not be able to bear your weight tomorrow." She covered snacks and food around them, one by one.

The chef came over to put away everything.

"Did Jingzhe tell you that the old man named him his heir?" Muyang asked Mei Mei.

Her eyes widened slightly, which was an obvious answer that he had not told her anything. "He did!"

Muyang nodded.

"Why?" Rose and Jun Yi blurted out at the same time.

Muyang shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe he thought the family would rise again as long as Jingzhe was in charge of it. He is the only rich relative they have left and he has our backing and protection. If that was the old man’s scheme, I don’t blame him for trying. If I was in his shoes, I would make the same gamble."

Mei Mei shook her head slowly, "I would not. Given how they treated Jingzhe, he will never show them mercy. The fact that he has not mentioned it to me means that he has no plans of saving the Mo’s. If it mattered, he would share it."

Mei Mei looked out and saw what her daughter was up to. It made her wince before she raised her voice. "Jun Mingzhu, you have three seconds to put that wombat down."

Mingzhu was trying to stuff a wombat into her bag!

"But it wants to go home with me." Mingzhu replied.

"Down, now." Mei Mei bellowed.

She looked at her daughter intensely, eyes shooting swords and daggers. It was the look she used when she needed to be firm.

Muyang shuddered. "You have become scary."

"Because I am a mother whose daughter has Jun Yi’s large heart and habits." Mei Mei turned her head back, smiling at her father. "If I was not firm on controlling how many pets we had at home, I would be living in a zoo right now. She tries to bring home every suffering animal she sees. Look at that wombat, it has more fat than me. How is it suffering?"

They all laughed as their heads turned to look at the wombat. No doubt, it was very healthy. Agent Boyle and two others were trying to get it to go away but it was not leaving.

The children were cheering the wombat on, encouraging it to dash and win. The agents were sweating and once in a while casting looks that were seeking help from other people.

But nobody wanted to get up and help. They were all relaxed, watching the sun which was dipping and casting a golden light on the orange falls, making them more beautiful and ethereal.

"Do you remember the last time we watched a sunset, just the four of us?" Jun Yi asked.

"In my garden, only days ago." Mei Mei answered with a frown.

"Way to ruin what I was trying to build up to." Jun Yo muttered.

Rose and Muyang laughed.

"Remember when Jun Yi tried to smuggle that wild Bobcat into the house and mom said no." Mei Mei suddenly asked something that brought smiles on everyone’s faces.

Rose grinned. "Oh, yeah. She tried to sneak it inside in her bag but it kept yowling and scratching. So she started yowling out and pretending the sounds were coming from her."

"And after being forced to let it go," Muyang chuckled, "She tried to zip line with it from the neighbors house into her bedroom through the window. But it slapped her half way through the journey and she ended up dangling from the zip line with a wild Bobcat hissing and screaming."

"It pissed on her after they were rescued." Mei Mei laughed hard, slapping the ground. "And then it glared at her and run off."

Jun Yi rolled her eyes. "I was like four years old. I thought every cat was just a cat."

"And you made a zip line out of socks!" Rose shrieked and laughed some more. "You should have seen everyone pretending that were not noticing what you were up to."

Jun Yi grinned. "Do you know that the Bobcat came used to sneak into my bedroom once every month an pee on my bed?"

Rose and Mei Mei laughed loudly like hyenas.

"That was them." Muyang pointed at his oldest daughters. "They would pour water mixed with some dye on your bed and pretend the Bobcat had come by."

Jun Yi huffed. "I cannot believe you guys. I hand washed my bed sheets every time because I was afraid mom would find out and move that Bobcat from its home or something."

Rose and Mei Mei continued to laugh.

"Your mom knew about it." Muyang revealed. "As did your brothers and all the employees at home. They would gather in the kitchen and bet on how long it would take you to figure out that the Bobcat was not the one pissing on your bed."

Jun Yi’s head fell back. Everyone in the house had known but her. No wonder the pissing ended after Mei Mei left home.
