Chapter 411: Calamities of the wrong path.

She almost wondered if she had accidentally clicked an adult video. There he was, her boyfriend, naked from head to toe with one of her shirts between his teeth and a sultry look on his face!!

"Are you naked at work? Are you in your office right now?" she asked.

He nodded and slowly removed the shirt from his teeth. "Do you like it?"

Jun Meilin blinked. She was sure that Feng Jingzhe would give her a heart attack someday.

"Why do you have my shirt in your office?" she asked him.

He put the shirt over his nose and sniffed it. "Because it smells like you." He said softly. "I have a meeting in an hour. Sister, let’s not waste time on idle talk. Show me your beautiful long legs."

Two hours later, vacationing group united and were flown off to the Ivy mountains which were known for their naturally orange waterfall and thick canopies. They were a famous tourist destination in the kingdom but tickets for entrance were costly and restrictions were many.

The group arrived at the base, each carrying a bag that had their essentials: gourmet snacks, ridiculously expensive bottled water, portable coffee cups, candies, scarves, gloves, ropes and other things. The family pets had not been left behind as well and they also had small backpacks strapped to their backs.

They had brought bodyguards in tactical gear, three doctors who carried bags with medical equipment and drugs. Alongside them were royal agents sent by the Australian royal family to keep an eye on the group. This was especially because Emperor Junjie had tagged along uninvited after boasting about his poison identification skills.

Their hike began at Snakes leap, a coiling scenic lookout with plunging views of a valley. The plan was a leisurely stroll into the valley, rest by the orange falls, a picnic and then return to the hotel. What followed was anything but leisurely.

It all started with Siping and Muyang lecturing everyone on what they knew about the Ivy mountains and there secrets. Then, Chi Zimo insisted that they veer off the original path and discover some of those secrets.

"Bad idea." Mei Mei said.

"Where is your spirit of adventure?" Jun Jie asked her.

"I race horses, that is plenty of adventure for me." She replied. "Bad things happen when people go off the original path while hiking. Don’t you watch murder mysteries?"

Agent Boyle, quickly cut in and said, "The Ivy mountains are very safe. There has never been a murder here."

The stiffness of his smile did not make his words trustworthy.

Nevertheless, they took a new route with Australian royal agents leading the way as they claimed to know the mountain like the back of their hands. Black Guard and General Big Yellow barked, possibly in protest.

"They are so excited." Jun Yi said.

The dogs exchanged a look that did not look like excitement and more like exasperation. Ten minutes into the walk, they came across a kangaroo.

They had met many since arriving in the kingdom, some young and others old. This one was somewhere between. It was muscular, majestic and very unimpressed by Chi Zimo who had startled it. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Jun Yi took pictures while the children squealed. The dogs nudged them back, preventing them from getting close to the mean looking kangaroo.

Chi Zimo stretched his hand to touch it, "Damn, he must be king..."

"Don’t" Agent Boyle shouted.

Chi Zimo’s fingers brushed across the kangaroo’s nose.

The kangaroo responded with a swift kick to Chi Zimo’s stomach, sending him sprawling into a batch of berry shrubs. The bodyguards and agents rushed forward and the kangaroo bounced away, leaving only a trail of dust.

The doctors checked on Chi Zimo, hoping that he had not broken a rib.

"Who said he wanted to box with a kangaroo?" Jun Yi.

"It was uncle." Jun Jie pointed to Chi Zimo.

Chi Zimo continued to groan while his wife and children looked on worriedly.

"Nothing broken but this bruise will take a while to fade and he will need pain numbing shots for two days because his rib area will be tender." One of the doctors said.

Zimo was helped up and given a walking stick.

"I got it on video." Jun Yi announced.

"Yes!" Zimo threw a fist in the air. Then he winced.

Meihua chuckled. It had been a while since she vacationed with this group so she had forgotten that it could get crazy.

The walk resumed and nobody tried to pat any wildlife they came across. Mingzhu was even too scared to go near them, afraid that she would be kicked. Long Shuang was in agent Boyle’s arms because she had declared that she was too lazy to walk.

They did not uncover any secrets of the mountain an hour later and so they decided to find the nearest slope and descend. But, that was when calamity struck again.

Jun Yi, distracted by a bird slid on animal poop and lost her footing. She flailed and yelped as her body lost the battle to gravity and she landed on the ground with a thud. Two crunching sounds were heard and both were unmistakable. One was the shattering of camera glass and the other was the breaking of a bone.

"Medic." Muyang bellowed as if commanding an army on a battlefield.

Bodyguards were already skidding on the loose gravel or leaping down acrobatically. The doctors rushed down, as did everyone else.

Jun Yi had passed out, her hands and a side of her face were bruised.

The three doctors each picked a part of the body to examine. One started cleaning and treating her face while another did the same to her hands.

"Broken tibia." The one working on her legs announced and started emergency treatment.

Jun Yi opened her eyes, blinking in confusion. "What happened?" she asked.

"We took the wrong path and you were lost in the wonderful world of bird watching which led to a broken tibia." Mei Mei replied. "I told you this was a bad idea."

"As a boxer, I broke more bones than this. I still want to see the orange falls." Jun Yi answered.

"Of course you do." Mei Mei rolled her eyes. She wondered if her baby sister would still be saying that if she was not high on pain shots.

She was put on a stretcher and two bodyguards carried it until they reached the falls. Blankets were laid down and the picnic unfold with cheer, memories of the accidents a thing of the past already.

Jun Yi lay on her stretcher, eating as the doctor put her leg in a cast that would be removed the next day. She cheered as others jumped into the river to swim or take pictures.

Mei Mei remained by her side, watching the dogs chase after a wombat and Mingzhu squealing as water hit her back from above.

"Won’t you join them?" Jun Yi asked her.

"That water is orange, who knows what is in it?" Mei Mei shuddered. "I have a race and I need to be in top health to win so I am not risking anything. You people almost got me killed with this hike."

She chased away the gecko that was approaching the plate of cheese. Unfortunately, she was not able to stop an echidna from stepping on the caviar.

And that was what made Chi Zimo cry!!
