Kung Fu Baby with 17 Doting Brothers-Chapter 431: Afraid of Tuanzi
Because of this little episode, the group of students didn’t talk on their way back to the archaeological site.
Gu Zhuo was extremely anxious, opening his mouth several times but not knowing what to say. Even the usually talkative Tuanzi pursed her lips and remained silent. They arrived at their destination without a word.
The destination was a bunch of tents, still a bit of a distance from the actual archaeological site. The area was somewhat barren, with no trees for shade.
The archaeological site was cordoned off with caution tape and had a few security guards; considering the size of the graveyard, the number wasn’t many.
Tuanzi examined the tent carefully, "This tent isn’t very good, are you going to sleep here the whole time?"
Gu Zhuo finally found his voice.
He noticed Xu Yue and others entering the tent and felt relieved.
"Not all the time. We sometimes stay in town or research other projects."
He lowered his gaze and, meeting his cousin’s curious eyes, quietly explained, "This project first invited other professors before inviting our professor. Our professor is just curious. He has many other things in hand, and we might leave at any time."
Tuanzi immediately thought of her cousin’s mentor, the particularly obsessed archaeology enthusiast, Professor Gu.
"Professor Gu seems very nice."
She tilted her head, a bit puzzled, "But why are his students so nasty? Oh, not including you, cousin. You’re great."
With a personality as soft as this, there’s no way not to be good.
Gu Zhuo’s face turned white. His clever cousin had figured it out after all.
"The professor is busy and doesn’t usually handle these things," Gu Zhuo tried to explain, "Also, there are students from other professors here."
Everyone follows different mentors, but they’re all in the same department, really competing in the same resource pool.
Tuanzi was still dissatisfied, wrinkling her nose, "Gu Zhuo, you’re too..."
Someone called Gu Zhuo’s name from afar.
Tuanzi leaned to look and realized it was Professor Gu.
"Alright, you go get busy," Tuanzi could only let him go work, then added, "Miaomiao will come to find you in the evening."
"Going out alone in the evening is too dangerous."
Though happy for her sister’s affection, Gu Zhuo didn’t want Tuanzi to fall into danger.
"Don’t worry, Senior Brother Two is here too, he will take Miaomiao home."
Tuanzi thought to herself; if she went out, who the danger was for was unknown. But the adults at home always felt that even if she was a martial arts master, she was still a child, and it was best to have an adult accompany her when going out. Ah, what a sweet burden.
Gu Zhuo finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Until Tuanzi disappeared from his sight, he realized his cousin coming to find him at night clearly meant she was going to question him. How should he respond?
Tuanzi used Qinggong to return near the supermarket and found the lady staff member anxiously looking for her.
"Sister, Miaomiao is here."
She landed somewhat guiltily, showing the staff a soft smile.
"You scared me. You suddenly flew off."
The staff knew Tuanzi was capable, but worrying about children had nothing to do with their abilities.
"Sister, I’m sorry."
Tuanzi proactively took the staff’s hand and gave it a gentle shake, "I’ll definitely explain clearly in advance next time."
She apologized sweetly and even gave her a long-preserved candy.
"Sister, quickly eat it, and don’t be mad anymore."
The staff was easily coaxed.
A round-faced, big-eyed cutie softly and coquettishly apologized. It was hard to sternly scold her.
The staff held Tuanzi’s hand and took her back.
During the time, the two promised each other they wouldn’t tell anyone else about it.
The other staff members hadn’t come over, so they didn’t discover this incident.
Nothing special happened in the afternoon.
Besides regular customers buying things, a few villagers, seeing there were activities, bought more.
At six o’clock, everyone gathered to do the accounts.
Children learn quickly; now, aside from Zhong Yi, everyone else had learned to use the calculator. They quickly tallied up the day’s receipts and found that their revenue was quite good.
"Hahaha, Miaomiao can buy that pack of candy now!"
Having endured the whole day, Tuanzi happily took the pack of candy she’d been eyeing.
"This is what Miaomiao earned herself. Big Brother certainly can’t say anything."
She hugged the candy, her eyes curved in a smile, muttering, "And Miaomiao is just collecting, will keep her promise."
She doesn’t eat much, just keeps it, like a dragon guarding treasure, watching her stash grow little by little brings her immense joy.
Just as she was happily walking out, she heard a childish argument.
"Eh? They’re arguing?"
She quickly ran out to see Zhong Yi trying to grab candy again.
He had really put effort into selling and now that he received money, he wanted to buy lollipops.
It’s just that the production team had been instructed by his mom to allow him only one piece a day at most. The production team was gently trying to suggest other options to him or ask him to save it up for toys later.
Zhong Yi was a bit fearful of his parents at home and somewhat afraid of Tuanzi but not of anyone else here.
He expertly threw a tantrum, "I want candy! I want candy!"
The day’s work was wrapping up; things weren’t too heated, but not too calm either. Overall, Director Zheng was quite satisfied.
Who’d have thought Zhong Yi suddenly became uncooperative at the end.
Director Zheng glanced at the stream of comments, feeling a bit helpless as he rubbed his forehead.
[This Zhong Yi is really annoying, always throwing tantrums, acting like this place is his home]
[Not always, though. He’s good when there’s food and he’s done quite a few things too]
[Clearly spoiled, how did the production team invite such a kid to participate?]
[From young to old, you can tell this kind of person won’t amount to much]
[Don’t exaggerate, he’s just a kid, can’t you be kinder in your words?]
[Even adults are given opportunities to correct their mistakes; can’t we be patient with a growing child and allow him to slowly correct some bad habits? The world isn’t just black and white]
The comments turned somewhat chaotic, with some being mean-spirited and others believing Zhong Yi is still young, and with patience, he could change some bad habits.
Lu Feiyong and the other two stood awkwardly at the side, wanting to intervene but not knowing how. The staff, however, was patiently trying to reason with Zhong Yi, conveying his mom’s request, but Zhong Yi wasn’t listening.
Tuanzi appeared amidst this commotion.
She stood next to the little boy with her candy in hand, bending down for a look.
Zhong Yi was rolling around when suddenly a shadow fell on his face, and upon closer inspection, he saw a chubby yet delicate soft face, immediately scrambling to get up, brushing off the dust, abandoning the money, and quickly running outside, the plump little figure suggesting a hasty retreat.
[???]
The comment section was filled with question marks.
