Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 109
Winston’s expression froze for the first time.
“...That’s a lie.”
He continued speaking with a dazed, blank face.
“Pregnant? That’s a lie... Whose, exactly?”
“Yours, of course.”
In a voice that sounded faintly trembling, Yujin lied shamelessly.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t believe me. You can do a DNA test, right? They can even do it during pregnancy these days.”
His heart was pounding as if it would burst. It’s okay, I just need to leave this house before that. And I’ll never see this man again. Yujin decided not to tell this man any more truths. He had done enough. What difference would it make to lie to someone who would never believe anything he said?
Winston’s face was completely stunned. Even if Yujin had slapped his cheek with all his strength, that expression wouldn’t have appeared. Seeing the arrogant face that had insulted Yujin so many times freeze in embarrassment was satisfying. His heart was uneasy, unable to cope with the absurd lie, but his mind felt like dopamine was exploding like fireworks. Yujin kept speaking. His lips wouldn’t stop.
“There’s no reason for me to stay in this mansion anymore. Angie and I will leave tomorrow.”
“Leave?”
Until then, Winston had been staring at Yujin in a trance, but suddenly he stood up. His shocked and pale face made Yujin certain he had completely fooled him. The irony was palpable. The man who never moved an inch when begging to believe so many truths now immediately believed a lie. Yujin stood up after him and spat with all his might.
“Yeah, there’s no need for me to sleep with you anymore, right? We can meet at the hospital when the DNA test happens. I’m sick of you now! I don’t want to spend even one second with you!”
“Wait, where do you think you’re going?”
Winston grabbed Yujin as he turned and tried to leave, but Yujin shook him off with all his strength.
“I told you! I’m done sleeping with you! I’m going to sleep with Angela tonight. And tomorrow, I’m leaving immediately!”
“That ridiculous nonsense...”
“Did you forget? About the will.”
When Yujin snapped, Winston hesitated. Then he confidently recited the will’s contents clearly.
“You have to provide me with all the conveniences I want. I’ll be staying at a hotel starting tomorrow. Financial support is obviously included, so you have no right to object.”
Wow, I’m really good at talking!
Yujin was secretly dumbfounded. Maybe I really do have a talent as a writer. Thinking back on the editor’s praise from earlier today, his chest swelled with pride. Seeing Winston at a loss for words only boosted his confidence.
“Well then, goodbye, Winston. Sweet dreams.”
Yujin grabbed the door handle and gave him his final farewell.
“I hope we never meet again.”
Smiling even at the frozen Winston, he opened the door and walked out. Alone in the quiet hallway, a chill ran through his whole body. He took a deep breath trying to calm his excitement, but it wasn’t easy.
I will never be intimidated or walk on eggshells around anyone again.
He vowed to himself, raising his chin confidently. Without hesitation or looking back, he walked toward Angela’s room and ◆ Nоvеlіgһt ◆ (Only on Nоvеlіgһt) opened the door. Carefully, so as not to wake the child, he lay down beside her, but he was still too excited to fall asleep easily.
What should I do after leaving this house?
It’ll be easier to act freely at the hotel. They said they’d send the contract by email, so there’s no problem. What I need right now is a bank account. I’ve never made one in my name before — there was never a situation or need for it. Jobs were always unstable, and I always got paid weekly in cash. In some ways, that was more convenient. Getting even a small, shabby place to call my own was a relatively recent thing. But now it’s burned down and gone.
I’m glad I can get the contract money in advance.
‘Normally this money is paid after the contract is finalized, but I’m giving you a check in advance on my personal behalf to show how serious we are.’
Remembering the editor’s words filled him with gratitude. How kind the person was. Just publishing my work was already a blessing, but to get the advance too — and before even signing the contract.
I wanted to keep that check forever as a memento, but reality made that impossible. Yujin closed his eyes, holding only the joy of the moment in his heart. Tomorrow, I leave this mansion.
Saem, I did my best.
He recalled with his eyes closed. No matter what happens now, he would never regret not trying harder to persuade him. He had completely let go of his last lingering attachment. Now he was free.
Winston sat alone on the sofa, lost in thought. His mind hadn’t moved forward since earlier. Yujin’s leaving? This mansion? Me?
Again?
It was unimaginable. Now the family and all the property belonged to Winston, but Yujin was saying he’d give it up. Even Winston himself.
Yujin being pregnant wasn’t that important. He was surprised, but as Yujin said, a DNA test could confirm it, so he probably wouldn’t lie about that. What mattered more was that Yujin was leaving. And that he was using pregnancy as the reason to leave Winston’s side.
He wasn’t wrong. From the start, they married to execute the will’s contents and had sex countless times. That was Winston’s claim. So Yujin’s words had no holes. Winston should accept it willingly.
Something’s wrong.
This wasn’t what he expected. Yujin leaving was completely off the plan. He thought Yujin wouldn’t give up the money and would settle in the mansion, naturally.
Yeah, that’s what I wanted.
Only now did Winston reluctantly admit the desire he’d hidden deep in his heart. What he wanted was to have Yujin back in his hands. More precisely, to have him as his own, without anyone else taking him away, finally as his.
I thought I could do that.
So why did it end up like this? He had no idea why. The answer was one: there was another man.
Why? I satisfied him every day.
He had tried not to let him turn to another man. Eating dinner every day, having sex, doing his best to keep no empty time.
Maybe he got tired of sleeping with me?
Suddenly he realized. That must be it. It was probably the first time he’d been with the same man for so long.
Yeah, that’s the only reason. And the moment a new man appeared, he’s trying to abandon Winston. Thinking back to the man Yujin met during the day, it became more certain than anything.
Then what should I do now?
Tomorrow, Yujin will leave with the child. And they’ll never meet again. Just returning to the previous life. An empty and tiresome routine without Yujin.
And Yujin with the new man...
The glass he was holding cracked in his hand. Winston glared at one spot, gritting his teeth.
Hadn’t I promised myself I’d never be fooled by the same trick again?
I won’t make a stupid mistake, lost like that with Yujin again. But that doesn’t mean I’ll let him go.
Then.
If so...
He put down the whiskey glass and stroked his lips with a serious expression. The night was gradually deepening.
“Ugh...”
After a long time, Yujin finally fell into a deep sleep. He moaned softly and turned his body. The soft feel of the bed made him sigh with happiness unconsciously. Slowly, consciousness returned. Yujin groped the bed while his eyes were still closed, naturally expecting his beloved daughter to be beside him. But no matter how much he reached, he found nothing.
...Huh?
Only then did he open his eyes and stare blankly, suddenly startled as he sat up. Then an unimaginable situation unfolded.
Where is this?
It wasn’t Angela’s room where he had fallen asleep. Nor was it any other room in the mansion. He was bewildered by the unfamiliar surroundings inside the room. The next thing he noticed was a faint, regular sound. And when he saw beyond the wide-open balcony door an endless expanse of blue sea, he completely froze.
