Kiss the Scumbag-Chapter 102
Yujin quietly glanced at Winston. The man was staring at him with an expression that screamed curiosity and impatience. Yujin opened his mouth, but words didn’t come easily. The sweet scent lingering around made his head dizzy.
Swallowing dryly, Yujin leaned back in his seat. Winston stretched out an arm into the air, looking puzzled, but didn’t try to grab him. Instead, lowering his hand and keeping silent, Winston watched. Yujin took a deep, trembling breath and exhaled.
Even speaking the words the men had said was painful. But he had to say it. They had promised to be honest with each other.
“Winnie.”
Finally forcing his lips open, Yujin took another deep breath and barely managed to speak.
“Be honest with me, Winnie.”
Winston looked at him as if wondering what he was curious about. Meeting Winston’s gaze with shaking eyes, Yujin finally asked.
“Did you sleep with someone else besides me?”
Winston didn’t respond right away. He blinked once in a daze, then finally twisted his face in disbelief and spoke.
“What? What kind of nonsense is that all of a sudden?”
“Just say yes or no. Did you?”
Yujin pressed with a stiff face. A stunned sigh burst from Winston’s mouth.
“Who did you hear that from? How could you believe such nonsense and doubt me? Yujin, do you not trust me?”
Winston’s reaction was more disbelief than anger. Like he had never heard such nonsense in his life. But Yujin was desperate.
“I said just say yes or no!”
His voice strained as he urged again, his face pale and trembling with fear. Only then did Winston sigh and reply in a voice lower than usual.
“Who else would I sleep with besides you?”
There was no greater injustice in the world. What fool had spread such nonsense to cause this suspicion?
But none of that mattered anymore. What made Winston ache even more was that his precious lover had cried. When he thought about finding those bastards and tearing out their tongues, Yujin’s trembling voice cut in again.
“What about Evelyn?”
Winston froze for a moment. Yujin didn’t stop and pressed on.
“They say you’re engaged to Evelyn. That you’re going to marry her — is that a lie too?”
He desperately hoped Winston would react the same way as before — sigh in disbelief, get mad that such nonsense was said.
But unlike before, Winston just looked flustered and unable to answer.
Seeing that expression, Yujin’s strength drained completely.
“It’s true.”
His voice slipped out like a dazed lament.
“I was just a plaything. I didn’t even know...”
“No, Yujin! What are you saying?”
Winston urgently blocked him and raised his voice.
“I was just shocked. Married to Evelyn? Who says stuff like that?”
“They’re engaged, it’s true!”
“That has nothing to do with me!”
He insisted on his innocence again, but this time it didn’t work. Distrust filled Yujin’s face. Winston groaned painfully from deep within and ran his fingers wildly through his hair.
“My parents just decided it without me. It’s not a formal engagement, just kids talking nonsense. If I was really going to marry Evelyn, would I have introduced you as my lover? Do you think Evelyn would have just let that happen?”
Of course, Yujin had thought about that too. But they were not like ordinary lovers. Didn’t Winston’s friends say that? He wouldn’t marry just anyone.
“It’s a political marriage...”
“That’s just something out of a novel!”
Yujin muttered weakly, and Winston immediately countered.
“Think about it. Even if you marry for convenience, would you just watch your spouse cheat right in front of you? Even if you don’t love them, could you really not care? Your pride would be shattered. Yujin, no spouse just lets that happen, no matter how the marriage was arranged!”
Just like my mother did.
Winston wanted to bring up Mrs. Campbell as proof to Yujin but barely held back. No matter what, she was still his mother. He didn’t want to damage the pride she desperately protected.
Yujin’s face clearly showed his inner turmoil — the desire to trust Winston clashing with disbelief, twisting his expression. Winston sighed deeply, boiling inside.
“Yujin, it’s true. There’s only you.”
He was begging now. There was no other way.
“I’ve loved only you my whole life. Evelyn and I were never formally engaged, just some talk between families. That was almost ten years ago. And I have no feelings for Evelyn. The only one I love is you. Why would I marry anyone else?”
He poured out his heart, but Yujin remained unmoved.
“You’re going to marry Evelyn.”
“No!”
Winston nearly shouted. He barely controlled his voice and instead pleaded.
“What do I have to do to make you believe me? I’ve never lied, not even once. Whatever you heard is all lies. Tell me, what must I do to earn your trust? I’ll do anything, please believe me.”
If only Yujin would believe his innocence, he thought he could tear out his own heart. Seeing Yujin just ✪ Nоvеlіgһt ✪ (Official version) silently staring at him, Winston felt despair like never before. What more could he say? He wanted to cry.
“...My friends.”
Yujin slowly spoke. Winston paused and looked at him. Yujin stammered on.
“They say you won’t marry just anyone. That you’ll choose a wife suitable for your family...”
“They don’t know anything. What matters is my heart.”
Winston hurriedly added,
“I’m going to marry you. I’ll have children with you. The only one I love in my life will be you. I swear it to God.”
In desperation, he knelt down beside the bed. If Yujin told him to dive into the sea and catch a shark barehanded, he would gladly do it. Winston was sincere like never before.
Nervously waiting for Yujin’s reaction, the latter blinked blankly, then slowly covered his mouth with trembling fingers. Seeing his fingers shake noticeably, Winston panicked and stood up, but Yujin spoke.
“...Really?”
His voice trembling as much as his fingers,
“Are you really going to marry me? ...Love only me?”
“Of course, Yujin. Ah!”
Winston admitted hastily, then sighed deeply, closing his eyes and clutching his head. Surprised by this unexpected display, Yujin’s face went pale as Winston grimaced and muttered to himself.
“I was going to propose with a ring.”
Yujin’s eyes widened even more.
“A r-ring?”
And a proposal?
Hearing these words one after another left his head spinning. Winston repeated mechanically what he had said. Regretting the ruined plan, he eventually nodded in resignation.
“Yeah. I had a whole plan... but it’s completely ruined because of those bastards.”
Yujin had cried, Winston had knelt on the floor, and even the carefully prepared proposal was ruined. He should have just shot all those bastards.
It’s not too late even now.
“Winnie, where are you going?”
Suddenly rising, Winston dashed toward the door. Yujin shouted after him.
Winston, just as he grabbed the door handle, turned his head and said,
“Wait a moment, I have something to do.”
“Something to do?”
Yujin asked anxiously. Leaving me behind now? I just proposed! Flustered, Winston answered.
“I’ll be back soon, just a moment.”
“Winnie!”
Yujin called after him again. Winston had no choice but to stop and swallow dryly before Yujin asked.
“Is it more urgent than me right now?”
Suddenly silence fell. They watched each other wordlessly for a moment before Winston finally spoke.
“...What?”
