Kingdom Building: Civilization Starts with Divinity-Chapter 129: Back to Work!
[Starlight Breaker](Pioneer of Salvation | Rank 1): Well, I’m glad that some friendly faces are here. And Tharis. But I have things to do still, so I’m gonna piece out.
[Dragonborn](Dragon’s Descendant | Rank 2): Fuck you, Monarch.
[Starlight Breaker](Pioneer of Salvation | Rank 1): Yeah you wish <3.
[Alice_In_Wonderland](Heir of the Fey Court | Rank 3): Okay! Bye bye Onee-sama! Can Alice ping you if I want to chat?
[Starlight Breaker](Pioneer of Salvation | Rank 1): If I said no, would you leave me alone?
[Alice_In_Wonderland](Heir of the Fey Court | Rank 3): No!
[Starlight Breaker](Pioneer of Salvation | Rank 1): Thought so. Well, I might pop into chat during my free time. Later.
[LukezVerySane](First Virtue | Rank 10): Goodbye, Alchemy. Stay safe.
Closing the chat window, Alchemy smiled widely.
|<You look happy.>|
"Am I not supposed to be? I’ve finally met my friends again after 11 days of fighting for my life."
|<No, but your genuine smile is much prettier than that maniacal one put on so often.>|
Looking at the message, Alchemy rolled her eyes before standing from her throne.

"Ugh, we really did take a big hit to our food." Alchemy sighed.
Before closing her Storage panel, she grabbed out the IDOL Upgrade Token.
It was a large glowing orb, one the size of a volleyball.
"Holy shoot. It’s massive."
The IDOL Upgrade Token was new. Alchemy had never seen such a thing back in A.O.A, but that wasn’t much of a surprise anymore.
After holding it for a while, she put it back in her storage. She had plenty of sacrifices for her IDOL in the instance dungeon, so there was no reason for her to use it yet.
If she was lucky, she could immediately level her IDOL up to 3, which wouldn’t usually be possible for another couple of months.
"So. To use that new skill I just gotta kill things, right?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
|<The amount of memories you extract is dependent on age and level of the entity killed, but yes.>|
"I see. Guess that means I’m heading toward the Inner forest after I finish things up here."
Alchemy did want to leave right away, but she had a number of things to deal with before she could.
"Now that I think about it. I haven’t realized any memories of mine missing. Shouldn’t Mental Destruction be eroding them?"
|<The System is regulating it. The memories deemed unimportant are being destroyed first. The small things for now, like what you’ve eaten in the past, the feeling of eating them for the first time, the faces of people you passed in your day-to-day life, etc.>|
Now that her Handler mentioned it, Alchemy thought back. She tried to remember what the last cereal she ate was. She knew that’d be a simple indicator of what she’s forgotten, because she remembered that she always ate the same type of cereal every morning.
But when she tried to remember its name... There was nothing. It wasn’t like she had just forgotten either...
There was a clear void in her memories. An empty spot. Her memories surrounding it were intact to the point that she could make inferences about everything she forgot, but... This wasn’t what she expected from the aftereffects of Mental Destruction.
It was far... Scarier. As she looked into her memories, that seem cold feeling that had been encompassing her this entire time reared its ugly head.
"Hmm. I can enjoy food for the first time again. That’s fun, isn’t it?" She tried to look on the bright side.
It didn’t do much for her, but she had a way to deal with it now, so it wasn’t that big of an issue. At least, she wouldn’t make it out to be.
When she left her hut, she saw that the partying had significantly slowed downy, and all the Verminae were in their own groups chatting.
She let out a sigh.
"Your attention." She called out, grabbing the eyes of everyone present.
"I did plan to let you all relax until tomorrow, but with Nera temporarily gone, I don’t think it’s wise for us to be idle. That being said, I’m not interested in forcing you guys to work, so if you still feel like resting then that’s fine."
{Mother! We’re always ready to work for you!}
{Please! Give us your orders.}
"I-I’ll help here I can." Sapphire also responded.
Alchemy knew her worries were unfounded, but this loyalty was still unnerving. She had no idea if it was something she’d ever get used to.
’Once I have completed my Divinity and created my core belief system, I should be able to fix that blind loyalty.’
|<That is extremely Ill advised.>|
’Yeah, well, even I have some ideals that I won’t allow to bend.’
"Then! Let’s get back to work! The offensive Verminae should go around and collect the corpses of the mimics. Sylvies, get ready to start dismantling them. After that, both of your groups can go back to your normal stations of hunting for food. Granis’ I have some buildings for you to work on."
As she spoke, she pulled up the Burrow Dens that she had Rio research a few days ago.
|<Burrow Den>|
|<Building Type: Unit Housing>|
|<Cost: 1000 Units of Wood | 1000 Units of Stone>|
|<Build time: 5 Hours>|
|<Description: A simple burrow for citizens of the Verminae Faction. Can hold up to 20 units All hail the Seraphim Verminae!>|
’Well. I can’t build the eight that I need... I guess three will do for now.
