Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1179: Out of Steam
Zhen Liu didn’t choose to use [Ghost Flame] on a whim.
Awhile back, when he was creating Screamira, he had used the flames to modify and refine her original body from being a standard skeletal zako into the bombshell of a boney banshee she was today.
He figured that since she and the [Cursed Corpse Blood Puppet] proto-kaijin, or Corpse Doll for short, and Screamira were of similar natures, the [Ghost Flames] would work on her too.
Evidently, his guess was right.
In terms of physical changes, the [Ghost Flame] had smoothed out a lot of the stitches, scars and deformities that came from being made from stitched together body parts.
However, the more subtle internal changes were the important part.
With every gentle application of [Ghost Flame] to Corpse Doll’s head, Zhen Liu could feel that her pain was lessening bit by bit and that even her curses were starting to get along...somehow.
Maybe it was due to her materials becoming more aligned with one another, maybe it was due to the burning of spiritual impurities, either way it didn’t matter.
What did matter was that Zhen Liu now had a powerful new proto-kaijin on hand that should greatly help in future encounters.
All he had to do now was to get it back to the library.
[It appears the new proto-kaijin is rather receptive to the Ghost Flame...which actually makes sense now that I think about it...,] Blazejudicator commented.
’Yeah, I figured I was going to need either this, the [Hammer of the Dearly Departed] or both,’ Zhen Liu communicated while still removing the pain from Corpse Doll’s existence. ’Not gonna lie though, I think I’m going to need to return to the Library sooner rather than later. I feel like I’m about to pass out, but I’m running on enough adrenaline to give an elephant a heart attack. You think we should just the treasury’s door to head back or use one that’s more well hidden?’
[I think something more well hidden could work, but I also think you should probably check the key first. We did crash land here and whenever that kind of action occurs in the stories of your old world, it usually means the way home is temporarily compromised.]
’That’s fair.’
[Home?,] Corpse Doll suddenly interjected. [What is...no...where is home?]
[Oh, she is a fast learner!]
’You’ll see it soon...hopefully...’
...
It took the grand total of two minutes for Zhen Liu to partially treat the internal suffering of the Corpse Doll and calm her down to the point where she stopped crying.
Granted, the Corpse Doll was still somewhat in pain but it had lessened considerably after Zhen Liu treated the discomfort in her head.
^All done. Feel better?^
[Uh-huh!,] the Corpse Doll nodded with a happy expression as Zhen Liu kept parting her head.
While this was happening, Lythero finally decided that now was a good time to ask Zhen Liu some pertinent questions.
Such as...
^So...you have the ability to just bring things to life?^
^More complicated, but yes.^
And...
^Is it going to be a habit where you take incredibly dangerous, probably cursed, ass items and turn them into...whatever it-^
^She.^
^-whatever she is?^
^Maybe. Might make more dudes though.^
And more importantly...
^What’s the plan now that you’re done with...whatever this is?^
^I’m so glad you asked.^
Now that Zhen Liu had finished his business with the Cortez Company’s Treasury, he walked up to the bound Grandmasters to determine their final judgement.
Leon, Kendana and Rama, appeared to have regained some modicum of a spine despite everything they had seen up until now.
Perhaps having their places in the world shaken reminded them of how the young has a tendency to change the world a bit harder than the old.
Either way, they had come to terms with their situation and ready to-
^So yeah, in exchange for my new puppet friend over there. I am now going to take significantly less stuff from you. But I am going to have to humiliate the everliving hell out of the three of you and steal your house for the evening,^ Zhen Liu informed the trio, much to their shock.
The three of them were mentally preparing for their execution, but being told that they were going to be spared yet humiliated was...confusing.
Death before dishonor was the norm after all, but Zhen Liu wasn’t normal.

^I...what the fuck does humiliating us even entail?,^ Leon asked, unaware that he had opened Pandora’s box.
^For starters, I’m going to seal are all of your cultivations for about a day,^ Zhen Liu said in a manner that was so nonchalant that it flew over the trio’s heads that sealing the cultivation of three Grandmasters wasn’t that easy in the first place.
They also missed the part where he said, "for starters"...well, two out of three of them did.
^Wait, what happens after you seal away our cultivation?,^ Kendana asked.
^Well...let’s just say that I hope nobody is walking the streets of Papaya Town this evening. Also, I really really hope none of you have a humiliation/exhibitionist fetish.^
^Wait, what?^
Instead of elaborating any further, Zhen Liu simply ignited one of his fingers.
^Now hold still, otherwise this is going to end with me cooking out one of your eyeballs and nobody wants that...maybe.^
Needless to say, this was going to be a..rather memorable evening.
...Several moments of screaming, crying and pleas of mercy later...
^Ya know, I had my doubts about doing this...but this turned out to be totally worth it,^ Lythero commented.
^Right?!,^ Zhen Liu agreed.
On the edge of a balcony overlooking Papaya Town, Zhen Liu and Lythero were enjoying a rather amusing sight.
After Zhen Liu had temporarily sealed the cultivations of Kendana, Rama and Leon, he had his zakos strip the old codgers down to their birthday suits and had them run off in various directions with their clothes.
Due to their lack of aether right now, the three aformentioned Grandmasters were forced to run through the town buck naked like a mundane mortal who had just been kicked out of a whorehouse, all for their subordinates and the people of Papaya Town to see.
Whether or not they’d be able to get through the evening without someone permanently burning the vision of their private parts into their memories was now up to the heavens.
Lythero and Zhen Liu continued to watch the old bastards run around for a couple of minutes before the former decided to break the silence with a pertinent question.
^So...now what?^
^Well, this would’ve been the part where I invite you to my base of power,^ Zhen Liu answered. ^But my way home is currently busted.^
From the pocket of his clothes, Zhen Liu pulled out a broken key made of blackened metal.
This key was the [Key to Nowhere].
^I need to figure out a way to repair this thing, or maybe even upgrade it if I get the right materials,^ Zhen Liu mused. ^But for now, I’m going to travel with you. Unless you’re against the idea.^
^No, no!,^ Lythero immediately protested. ^I would be more than happy to travel with you. You did me a massive solid, after all.^
^Excellent,^ Zhen Liu nodded with increasingly heavy eyelids. ^But with all that said, I should probably warn you I’m about to pass the fuck out.^
^Of course...wait, what?^
^Yeah...I had to dope up a bit before my fight with those three Grandmasters, prevent your breakthrough from hurting any bystanders and bringing Corpse Doll over there to life has...more or less drained the fuck out of me,^ Zhen Liu fully explained. ^So I am going to be passing out in like...a minute.^
^O-okay! Is there something I’m supposed to do here?!,^ Lythero asked in a panicked tone of voice.
^Just listen to the fireball, he’ll tell you what to do,^ Zhen Liu said with a yawn. ^Okay. Night-night!^
^Oh shit!^
Lythero made a move to catch Zhen Liu before he collapsed to the ground, but was intercepted by the sudden appearance of a column of flames that turned into a metal covered hand.
^What the-Whoa!^
^Hi, nice to meet you.^
In other words, Blazejudicator had manifested to catch Zhen Liu before he could fall over and bump his head...or destroy the floor.
^I-who? How...?^
^Long story short, my name is Blazejudicator. I am a creature that is similar to her and I am Executor’s live-in warrior. I will be assisting you until he is conscious again.,^ Blazejudicator answered.
Lythero understood most of what was conveyed, but was confused at one particular statement.
^I see, I se-wait, her?^
[I brought the bed!,]
^Bah!^
Without making a single sound, Corpse Doll had appeared behind Lythero with what she called a bed in tow.
In reality, it was her coffin.
[Corpse Doll, you know that this is something that only dead lie in, right?]
[Caretaker isn’t dead?,] Corpse Doll asked while staring at Zhen Liu’s sleeping form. [He looks dead.]
[Well...he is dead tired...]
