Kaijin Fighter: So I Have to Make Monsters, So What?-Chapter 1143: To Topple Tyrants
What is this feeling?
This feeling twisting in my stomach?
Is it fear that I feel?
Is it excitement?
Or is it anger over the fact that my subordinates are so useless?
Whatever it is, I can’t help but to wonder.
Why am I feeling it from such insignificant pests?
Perhaps it will go away once my guards deal with them…then again, perhaps I should do it myself.
...
"Either I’m going crazy, or that big dusty bastard is giving us a dirty look."
"Grunt!"
"Yeah, it won’t matter after we take his head…wait, this is my first time dealing with an elemental aether beast, do they have heads?"
"Grunt!"
"Fair enough!"
As Zhen Shi and Tiny continued to charge forward, the two of them began to channel a power that they had only learned to recently wield in a manner befitting their status.
[Chaos].
[Primordial Beast Scripture…]
As man and beast continued to condense this strange power, the shadows of a great serpent and an even larger hippopotamus began to manifest around them.
Needless to say, the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant] took this display and strange feeling energy as a challenge to its dominion, and promptly ordered for this challenge to be dealt with.
SKROOA!
AOOOO!
WOOO!
As Zhen Shi and Tiny got closer and closer to the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant], the two [Sand Devil] guards protecting it charged forward with their weapons drawn, and ready to slay these annoying little pests..
Now, this would’ve been the part where Zhen Shi and Tiny make use of a recently learned move of theirs to defeat these ephemeral bastards in a single strike and then get caught with their pants down, but they were saving that power for the significantly bigger bastard behind them.
Fortunately, the [Sand Devils] weren’t going to have even a chance of getting close to Zhen Shi and Tiny.
Just as the [Sand Devil] guards were about to bring their halberds down on Zhen Shi’s head, two distinct groups of warriors intercepted the blades.
"Brothers, with me!"
"Wait, what about the other one?"
"We got it covered!"
"Oh, hell yeah!"
Due to them being only Aether Grandmasters, all seven of the Zhen Clan elders had to join hands in order to push back against the sixth tier [Sand Devil] and its deadly pseudo weapon.
By pooling their aether together, the Zhen Clan elders activated a formation that allowed them to resist the halberd as if they were wielding a rather large shield.
It was straightforward and a bit brutish, but it worked for their purposes.
As for the other [Sand Devil], they had the "privilege" of having to face the secretaries of the Zhen Clan, Lucille and Aranea.
"I honestly keep forgetting how unsettling their [Regalia] looks."
"Dude, don’t be disrespectful."
"I’m sorry, it’s just that their armor looks so...uncanny."
"Fair..."
"I’m more terrified over the fact that those two women are stronger than all seven of the Zhen Clan elders combined."
By a massive technicality, Aranea and Lucille were of the same cultivation level as the elders of the Zhen Clan. However, the duo had proven time and time again that they were actually warriors who were more than capable of being able to punch above their weight class by at least several stars.
To outside observers, their ability to do so was due to the secretaries being monstrous elite warriors who probably been bestowed a multitude of rare aether medicines designed to make them powerful beyond their levels.
That or because they were born with innately powerful physiques.
To those who were members of the Zhen Clan though, the inner circle to be more specific, they knew it was due to the fact that the two warrior women cultivated [Chaos] to a degree that put their meager understanding of the [Primordial Beast Scripture] to shame.
That stated, the real reason for their absurd power wouldn’t be known by the rest of the Zhen Clan just yet.
Regardless, by using [Chaos], Lucille(Lacerage)and Aranea(Arcahnidame) were able to push back against the [Sand Devil]’s weapon by forcing the latter to constantly waste aether in order to maintain its existence.
The [Sand Devil] could quite literally feel the sand halberd in his hands disintegrating as Aranea’s and Lucille’s [Chaos] tore apart the aether holding it together, and could think of no other counter other than to keep pumping aether into their weapon.
Needless to say, this measure wasn’t going to last much longer.
"Your way is clear now, patriarch!"
"Give em hell, father!"
"Right!"
At the final stretch towards the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant], both Zhen Shi and Tiny were at their limits in regards to condensing [Chaos], but that was fine. This just meant that they were both ready to make use of the [Primordial Beast Scripture].
"I’ll go high, you go low?"
"Grunt!"
"Awesome."
Not wanting to give the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant] an easy target, Zhen Shi proceeded to leap from the top of Tiny’s back and reach a height where he was able to get a downward, bird’s eye view of the monster that dared to attack his home.

And now he was going to use this angle to bring down the wrath of a beast that the gods of another world once feared.
[Primordial Beast Scripture: Yearning Serpent!]
[Grunt!]
SKROOOAA?!
Before the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant] could even level a proper response, it had found itself besieged by beastly constructs that rivaled it’s might in ways it could have never predicted.
From above, a giant serpent made of ice and ocean water.
From below, a titanic hippopotamus that was made from howling wind.
It only had enough time to react to one of them, and it only had enough time to determine which one would hurt less.
Needless to say, the [Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant] wasn’t happy about this current predicament.
...Meanwhile, in Roaring Tide...
’Okay, I sincerely thought I’d be done sooner. Have I missed anything important?’
[Nothing much.]
[Your grandfather and Tiny are about to charge headfirst into attacking the Whirling Dust Devil Tyrant and we’re working with your clan’s elders to deal with the Sand Devils. So...yeah, nothing much.]
’I...I keep forgetting y’all have very different scales of danger than I do.’
<=Just get back to Stone Claw when you can, and we can figure out the rest from there.=>
’Aight.’
...
The funny thing about natural disasters, or an invasion of hostiles beasts, is that they tend to only have an effect on a particular region or populace.
As such, while Stone Claw City was dealing with the absolute nightmare that was the the Beast Tide, Willow Scale City was enjoying a relatively peaceful day.
Of course, there were people in this city that were anything but feeling peaceful at the moment.
"So... how’s everything going back home?"
"Everything seems to be going fine. Grandfather and Tiny are about to tackle the leader of the Beast Tide head on though."
"What the fuck?"
"Seriously?"
"Yeah..."
"Not going to lie, getting the play-by-play like this is...mildly frustrating, to say the least."
"How the fuck did you get used to it?"
"Practice," Zhen Liu sardonically admitted. "And exposure."
The three scions of the branch clan that had opted to go to the [Abyssal Lands], Zhen Hai, Zhen Liu and Zhen Feng, were currently sitting around in the middle of the main clan’s estate, waiting to finally make use of the teleportation array and get back home so that they could assist in dealing with the Beast Tide.
Granted, they had only learned that the Beast Tide was an issue a couple moments ago.
Up until that point, they were just getting annoyed about it seemingly taking forever to finally leave as minor event after minor event kept happening one after the other.
Now, every second and minute they were getting delayed felt as if a guillotine’s blade was getting closer and closer to dropping down on their necks.
As to why they were getting delayed this time around, the reason was actually painfully simple.
Their great grandaunt, Matriarch Zhen Xun Tian, leader of the Zhen Clan, wanted to come along. And as a result of this decision, was now in the middle of an argument with her son, Zhen Xun Po.
Well, to be more precise, she had attempted to leave for Stone Claw without informing any of the administrative members of the main clan, which included her son.
Oddly enough though, it was an argument about her own mortality.
<<Mother, we just came back from a harrowing campaign that almost ended with us all dying by the hands of a giant mechanical monster, that was apparently a stolen Imperial super weapon!>>
<<And?>>
<<WHY DO YOU INSIST ON TEMPTING FATE AGAIN?!>>
<<Oh, please! You and I both know that that prophecy I got was about...as accurate as a blind man in an archery contest. Barring your cousin, Zhen Ji Pan.>>
<<Mother, don’t change the subject, this is still about your galavanting behavior.>>
<<NYEH!>>
Technically speaking, the branch clan could’ve just left while the arguing was going on, but they couldn’t because the guards in charge of the array were ordered to block entry until this argument was over.
Needless to say, everyone was pissed about this.
