Chapter 2196: Chapter 2196: I Want to Ask for Your Help

The two players from the Holy Land Goddess Temple were first shocked and angry, then became incredulous, "You’re threatening us?"

The raised tone sounded as if Xu Huo were talking about something utterly ridiculous.

Indeed, from the perspective of the temple players, on their own turf, they had almost absolute advantage, with the scarcity of cities and population granting them absolute control over the district. The blessing of the eye pattern and the restrictions of the instance caused players coming here to not dare openly confront them, so when Xu Huo said those words, they didn’t feel threatened, but found the speaker laughable.

Not just the two of them, the players who came near the main hall because of Xu Huo’s earlier words all felt the same way.

At least twenty players, openly and secretly, were around, all watching Xu Huo, sizing up this outsider who didn’t know the heights of heaven and earth.

Ignoring their gazes, Xu Huo turned his wheelchair and moved outward, adding, "Remember what I said."

However, the two players at the entrance of the main hall didn’t intend to let him just leave. They stepped forward to block the wheelchair, but before they could position themselves, they heard a commanding voice: "Move aside."

These simple words made the two involuntarily step aside. Even though they quickly realized, the path was already clear. Their faces turned a bit unpleasant, and they discreetly signaled the players outside to use the "eyes" inside the temple.

The temple was filled with little mechanisms; some floor tiles or walls would flip out concealed patterns under control. These "eye" patterns, perhaps specially treated, could release amplified spiritual power. The temple players consciously or unconsciously avoided them, only aligning them towards Xu Huo.

This was far from the inhuman thing Xu Huo encountered in the Inquiry Hall of Purple Lake City. Even though pressure was felt, it wasn’t to the extent of incapacitating his thinking or movement.

But the temple players’ behavior was...

"It seems those guarding the temple aren’t receiving the Goddess’s blessing either." With meaningful words, he left the temple. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Crossing out of the Divine Hall’s Main Gate, the oppressive feeling immediately vanished. The temple players didn’t follow, but some bold believers did, seemingly wanting to keep an eye on him.

Xu Huo didn’t mind, heading to Shitan Hotel to check in.

Quite a few Outer Zone players were staying there. Seeing Xu Huo enter and exit prompted some to approach him to converse.

After talking briefly, Xu Huo understood these Outer Zone players were waiting to clear the instance. They hadn’t crowded into the dungeon, preferring to unite some people, sending a group in first to scout the way.

But very little information came back, as if those disappearing inside the temple were cut off. Occasionally sent back information was disjointed and bizarre, leaving it unclear what they actually encountered inside.

Even more perplexing was the fact that players would leave a small prop outside before entering; if the prop became ownerless, it suggested they most likely met an unfortunate fate. Yet today they received messages from players who supposedly died yesterday!

"Perhaps something is affecting their minds, causing them to abandon the prop left outside." Xu Huo suggested.

"That’s the logical deduction. But this problem isn’t small," said a player nicknamed Red Windmill. "The fact that they can send messages means they aren’t cut off outside the game. Messages from Beneath the Dimension being garbled means the instance disrupted their basic perception, preventing even writing and communication. Imagine the difficulty of the instance."

After listening, Xu Huo asked, "What do you want from me? I did see players disappear inside the temple, but as I’m not a dungeon player, I’m afraid I can’t provide useful clearance information."

"Seeing you come out, we also guessed so," Red Windmill replied. "I heard from a few stranded players that non-clearance players can actually enter this instance. And the instance, restricted by the game, means non-clearance players won’t be targeted by the instance like clearance players, and will be released after a certain time..."

Though the rest wasn’t spoken, their intention was clear.

"You want me to enter the instance with you, or more likely, have me go in first to scout?" Xu Huo sized them up, "You’re not planning to forcibly take me into the instance, right?"

The others understood without speaking, knowing that the only non-ticket player appearing before them happened to be an injured person. If it were a typical player, they’d worry about being retaliated against once inside, but an injured person needed their protection.

"If you help, we can offer a reward," Red Windmill said. "Props, potions, White Notes, anything."

Xu Huo raised a hand to stop him, "No need to say more, I won’t do it."

In a sealed dungeon venue, ticket players could still choose to clear and leave, but non-ticket players couldn’t be so certain. Even if the instance periodically released failed players, there was no need to gamble.

"We can gather two Rank A Props for you!" Red Windmill attempted to persuade.

"No need." Xu Huo signaled him to step aside.

Red Windmill stared for a few seconds, but ultimately moved away from the wheelchair.

Two players wanted to take action, but when they locked-on target, they found Xu Huo staring at them, causing them to hesitate and restraint to surface.

As he passed through the crowd, Xu Huo seemed to suddenly remember something and turned back, "If you’re not in a rush to clear, perhaps wait a few days. There might be changes in the Holy Land around the time of the divine event, maybe you won’t need to run the instance at all."

Being from Satellite City, they all sensed something was off with the atmosphere in the Holy Land. It was one thing to sense trouble, but another to predict when it would explode. They dared not be certain the Goddess Church would indeed have issues around the time of the divine event.

"Did you notice something?" Red Windmill followed up, though no answer was given.

Xu Huo went upstairs, communicating with Huang Mao once in the meantime, while keeping an eye on the temple’s happenings.

There were too many native players inside and outside the temple, with tension not aimed at maintaining order and defending against Outer Zone players. Amidst their patrols, minor friction appeared occasionally.

After resting, Xu Huo removed the bandage on his hand. His arm nearly fully recovered, allowing Free Action, though his leg injury was more severe, requiring more time.

He clenched his fist, supporting himself at the table to stand and stretch his body. Just as he was about to order food, there was a knock on the door.
