Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 645 - 644: Meeting Again
As expected, it only took a moment for more than thirty orders to accumulate. Chen Nuo rubbed his temples, "Follow me to the kitchen now, I’ll teach you how to work."
Sha Wujing quickly nodded and followed Chen Nuo to the kitchen.
Inside the kitchen, there were a large number of crayfish that had already been prepared, just waiting for Chen Nuo to process them.
After arriving in the kitchen, Chen Nuo didn’t have the time to introduce anything, and instead, he directly rolled up his sleeves and walked over to the stove.
"Shopkeeper Chen, what should I do?" Seeing Chen Nuo was busy, Sha Wujing hastily asked him about his duties.
Chen Nuo pointed to a device next to the stove, "After I finish preparing the meals, put the meal boxes here, and then transfer mana into it. Everything has been set on this device, so all you need to do is transfer mana into it."
Sha Wujing nodded his head, realizing that it seemed quite simple, and replied enthusiastically, "I understand what to do, Shopkeeper Chen. Rest assured, I will do it well!"
"Good."
Indeed, one person’s mood can affect those around him. Seeing Sha Wujing so motivated, Chen Nuo suddenly felt that these orders were no problem at all.
He lit the fire and poured oil, starting to deal with the orders for crayfish.
Tian Peng had been thinking about the Water Demon since he left in the morning. He wanted to know how Chen Nuo dealt with the Water Demon.
Since it was a demon, and a malevolent one at that, then surely having dealt with it must have earned him some Merit Points, but why did the Shopkeeper say that this demon was not an opportunity for him to become an Immortal?
No matter how Tian Peng thought about it, he couldn’t understand it—not just the matter of not becoming an Immortal, but also the opportunity Chen Nuo mentioned to him.
If it was an opportunity, but not one for becoming an Immortal, what could it be?
Could it really be the chance to become brothers with him?
Tian Peng shook his head at this thought. No, that couldn’t be it; it was just too far-fetched. How could a demon with no background and no abilities possibly become a good brother to him?
He always believed that he was only on par with the Water Demon because his current power came from being a mortal practicing the way of Refining Void and Merging Tao, not that he couldn’t defeat him outright.
This day in the military camp really seemed to drag on endlessly. Tian Peng couldn’t figure out the reason, and it was particularly frustrating since he was stuck in the military camp and couldn’t immediately return to Chaos Residence to find out what had happened.
When the evening arrived and Tian Peng was finally released, he returned to his camp and used a spell to go back to Chaos Residence.
The first one to see him was still Sun Wukong, who frowned and glanced at Tian Peng, "Is the issue with the Water Demon resolved?" 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Tian Peng was taken aback by the question. Hadn’t the Shopkeeper told him to return to Chaos Residence? So why didn’t Mr. Monkey know whether the issue had been resolved?
"Talking to you, why aren’t you answering?" Seeing Tian Peng standing there dumbly, Sun Wukong raised his voice and asked again.
Tian Peng was jolted back to attention by Sun Wukong’s shout, "Sorry, Mr. Monkey, I was lost in thought. Is the Shopkeeper back?"
"He’s back." Sun Wukong still wanted to ask how it went with the Water Demon, but when Chen Nuo had returned a while ago with clients, Sun Wukong didn’t get a chance to ask.
Now that Tian Peng was in front of him, Sun Wukong asked, "Weren’t you with your master at the Flowing Sand River? How did it go, is it settled?"
"Then it became daylight, and I returned to the military camp, so I don’t know what happened later. The Shopkeeper told me to come to Chaos Residence after handling things over there, so here I am." Tian Peng looked at Sun Wukong, who seemed oblivious, "Mr. Monkey, the Shopkeeper didn’t tell you?"
"Ah, I’m still selling milk tea here. The Shopkeeper probably knew I was busy and couldn’t leave, so he didn’t tell me," Sun Wukong explained.
Tian Peng looked at the long queue behind him and thought it made sense. He was about to leave, "Then you keep selling milk tea, Mr. Monkey. I’ll go find the Shopkeeper."
Sun Wukong waved his hand, "Off you go."
Tian Peng walked forward a couple of steps, then circled back, "By the way, Mr. Monkey, did you see Shopkeeper Chen come back alone, or did he bring something with him?"
He was thinking that since the other party was a Water Demon, it wouldn’t make sense for Chen Nuo to casually bring him back. He chose a rather indirect way to inquire.
"Oh, he came back with a guest, probably someone he met by the Flowing Sand River," Sun Wukong replied offhandedly. He hadn’t associated the person, who seemed quite human, with a demon.
"Ah?" Tian Peng paused, "Then, Mr. Monkey, are you sure that the person following the shopkeeper isn’t the Water Demon?"
Sun Wukong thought about what the Water Demon looked like, then said, "I wouldn’t think so. The one following Master seemed pretty normal. A demon wouldn’t look like that."
"Really?" Seeing how certain Sun Wukong appeared to be, Tian Peng thought the person with Chen Nuo probably wasn’t the Water Demon.
As he turned to leave, he said to Sun Wukong, "Mr. Monkey, then I’ll go look for the shopkeeper. If I have the time, I’ll come help you out."
By now, Sun Wukong had grown accustomed to working in the milk tea shop by himself; he answered without much concern, "Sure, got it."
Tian Peng strode into the Chaos Residence. He didn’t find Chen Nuo in the reception hall and began searching elsewhere, but still, he saw no sign of him.
Tian Peng scratched his head. Surely he can’t be in the kitchen, can he? Entertaining a guest in the kitchen?
But since Chen Nuo wasn’t in any other place, the kitchen was the only option left to search.
Just as he entered the kitchen, indeed, Tian Peng saw the silhouette of Chen Nuo cooking.
"Shopkeeper, I’m back!" Tian Peng called out to Chen Nuo’s silhouette.
Chen Nuo turned around, "You’re back. Wait a moment, let me serve this dish first, then we can talk."
"Sure, Shopkeeper, take your time. I’m in no rush," Tian Peng hastily replied.
When Tian Peng had entered, his gaze was fixed on Chen Nuo, and he hadn’t noticed anyone else.
Now, with nothing to do and feeling awkward about sitting down to wait, he stood still, casting his eyes around the room. Only then did he spot the silhouette of someone delivering takeouts.
The silhouette felt unfamiliar to him, but the person was wearing the uniform of a servant from Chaos Residence, and of that, he was certain.
Tian Peng’s first thought was whether one of the Three Demons had returned, but the silhouette didn’t quite match.
Even if it had been a long time since he’d last seen them, their silhouettes shouldn’t feel so unfamiliar. It’s not like they were children who had parted ways; the Three Demons’ appearances were well developed, and shouldn’t change that much.
From a distance, nothing could be discerned, so Tian Peng moved closer to get a better look at the silhouette.
As he approached the front, he saw the deliverer’s hair was actually bright red.
Because it was somewhat short and the figure was enveloped in darkness, he couldn’t make out much at first. But upon drawing nearer, he noticed the hair’s color.
The person’s hair wasn’t the only thing that was red; even his eyebrows were the same color.
Perhaps Tian Peng’s scrutinizing gaze was too intense to ignore, the person turned his head to look at Tian Peng, "Sorry, I’m a bit wary of strangers. The way you’re staring at me is making me uncomfortable."
Tian Peng had seen nothing out of the ordinary when he was just looking at the silhouette, but the voice indeed sounded familiar. Surprised, Tian Peng’s eyes widened as he pointed at the person, "You! You! You’re that Water Demon?!"
