Chapter 513: Chapter 513: Demotion to the Mortal Realm is Inevitable

The Jade Emperor had now fully understood that Tian Peng truly knew the entire affair. His face registered shock as he asked, "Who told you this?"

"It doesn’t matter who told me. What’s important is that this person gave me the choice, and whether I agree or not depends solely on my word. But you have truly disappointed me."

Tian Peng was in so much pain that cold sweat poured down his face, yet he still clenched his teeth and spoke his clear and complete thoughts.

"Who is it, did Shopkeeper Chen tell you? How did he come to know?" the Jade Emperor pressed, and if he hadn’t been mindful of his own status, he surely would have grabbed Tian Peng by the collar to get to the bottom of this matter.

It seemed that Shopkeeper Chen had to be dealt with— even if there might be the possibility that he was a potential Saint; he could not be allowed to remain.

Just what means had he employed to come to know of these things was still unknown.

"What’s said now doesn’t matter. Our shopkeeper never forces anyone to do things they dislike."

The Jade Emperor wished to continue his questioning, but Tian Peng rolled over and slipped from the hands of the Immortal Officials carrying him, plummeting into the Immortal Pond.

The Jade Emperor only managed to stretch out his hand before the story abruptly ended.

Watching Tian Peng fall, Yang Jian felt an unnamed anger rise within him. He did not understand what exactly had transpired. He had originally thought that the Jade Emperor was in a bad mood and wished to take it out on Tian Peng, seizing the opportunity to lash out.

After the conversation between Tian Peng and the Jade Emperor, both had left themselves some leeway. If one did not know the ins and outs, they would glean nothing.

Yang Jian did not know the intricacies, but he did know that from the beginning, the Jade Emperor had intended to demote Tian Peng to the mortal realm.

It did not matter what Tian Peng had said or done; his demotion was certain.

"Your Majesty, if there is nothing else, I would take my leave," Yang Jian said as he made a fist and palm salute to the Jade Emperor, preparing to leave.

"What, now one by one, you no longer heed my words?" the Jade Emperor turned and looked at Yang Jian. This Yang Jian too had recently become increasingly close to Shopkeeper Chen of the Chaos Residence.

"I did not mean any disrespect," Yang Jian replied in a low voice.

Well then, Yang Jian must stay; he was a mainstay of the Heavenly Court. No matter the reason, he could not leave. It was best just to endure for now.

Thinking this, the Jade Emperor waved his sleeve and departed from the Immortal Pond. He was off to inform Buddhism and Tathagata about Tian Peng’s demotion to the mortal realm.

After leaving the Jade Emperor, Yang Jian went straight to the milk tea shop.

Upon arrival, he found that where the milk tea shop had once stood, there was now nothing— as if nothing had ever existed there.

An unknowing Little Immortal Official came to buy milk tea and stopped short upon arriving, spinning around in confusion, finding nothing.

The Little Immortal Official scratched his head in puzzlement, "This is really strange; the milk tea shop was definitely here. How could it be gone?"

"Don’t bother looking. The milk tea shop has closed. I presume it will not open here again," replied Yang Jian.

"Why? The business was so good; how can they just close like that without any responsibility?"

The Little Immortal Official grumbled and turned to look back, trembling when he realized it was Yang Jian.

"General Yang Jian, I was just asking casually. If there’s nothing else, I will be on my way."

The Little Immortal Official hastily apologized and then slowly left Yang Jian’s sight before making a quick escape.

Yang Jian had initially wanted to inquire about what had happened to Chen Nuo, but seeing the situation, he decided to wait a couple more days.

The Jade Emperor probably felt some apprehension towards Chen Nuo. If Yang Jian now visited the Chaos Residence, the Jade Emperor would surely receive word of it.

If that were the case, the subsequent explanation would be problematic, only making the Jade Emperor more wildly suspicious.

Within Chaos Residence, Chen Nuo and Sun Wukong had moved the entire milk tea shop back to their domain in Chaos Residence.

The Three Demons and Xi were playing cards under a tree when they looked up and suddenly saw a new shop at the entrance, all of them stunned. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"What, what, what’s going on here?"

Xi, who had good eyesight, recognized it, "This is the milk tea shop, that one that was in Heavenly Court. How did it get moved here?"

Xiong Daoren turned to He Xi, "You know this place?"

He Xi nodded, "I was just taken there by Chen today, so of course I recognize it. Don’t tell me, is it normal for the milk tea shop to move like this? Move away in the morning and move back in the evening?"

Roc Demon King tilted his head, "What are you thinking? How could that be possible? It’s not that easy. The milk tea shop has always been in Heavenly Court, I’ve never once seen it either."

"Huh? You’re an employee here, how could you have never seen this milk tea shop?" He Xi was puzzled.

"I don’t know, I’m not an Immortal, we are Demons, we can’t go up to Heavenly Court." Roc Demon King replied.

"Oh, I see." He Xi nodded.

No wonder, earlier at the milk tea shop, he noticed the Immortal Officials all appeared quite normal, similar to the nobles of the mortal world. Why then did the employees at Chen’s shop seem so strange?

While they were talking, Chen Nuo and Sun Wukong had already made their way into the courtyard.

The Three Demons and He Xi quickly stood up, "What’s the matter? Shopkeeper, has something happened?"

Chen Nuo nodded, then seeing the cards on the stone table, he looked at He Xi, "You’re good, I thought you would be reading obediently inside the house, but I didn’t expect that you’d get along with them so quickly."

He Xi scratched his head, "I didn’t know how to play these, they taught me."

"What a grievance, you’re better than us, winning every hand!" The Three Demons exclaimed in unison.

He Xi smiled shyly, "It’s all written in the books, how to play, what the winning strategies are. I just took a quick look and then understood it all."

"It seems that armchair strategizing isn’t such a bad thing after all," Xiong Daoren said sincerely.

He Xi was very clever, and this wasn’t the first day Chen Nuo knew that, he just smiled and didn’t say anything.

"By the way, Shopkeeper, what exactly happened? Why did you move the milk tea shop back here?" Roc Demon King asked.

"It’s not a big deal," Chen Nuo replied casually, then added lightly, "Tian Peng was demoted to the mortal realm."

"Oh," the Three Demons nodded, then looked up in unison, "What?! Tian Peng was demoted to the mortal realm?! Why?"

"Just that little issue." Chen Nuo took a step back, the voices of the Three Demons were so loud, his ears were nearly deafened.

"What exactly happened for Tian Peng to be demoted to the mortal realm? Did he violate the heavenly laws?" Roc Demon King asked.

"That can’t be right, wasn’t Tian Peng always in the milk tea shop? How could he possibly be demoted to the mortal realm? Could it be that he wasn’t in the milk tea shop today?" Great Roc asked.

"He was in the milk tea shop the whole time before the Jade Emperor called him away today," Chen Nuo answered.

"Then why? Shopkeeper, don’t keep us in suspense, this is a big deal, and we don’t even know about it. What exactly happened?" The Three Demons crowded around Chen Nuo to ask.

Chen Nuo glanced at them indifferently, too lazy to explain, he brushed past them and said to He Xi, "Xi, come here for a moment."

He Xi nodded, following Chen Nuo away.
