ISEKAI? More like I See Crap!-Chapter 228: Children, Chaos, and Comfort ( )
Chapter 228: Children, Chaos, and Comfort ( 228 )
Hazuki squatted lazily in the doorway, one elbow on his knee, the other hand casually digging at his nose like he didn’t give a damn about the noble entourage standing before him.
He stared at them.
Flat expression.
Dead eyes.
Like they were weeds blocking his view.
"First of all... it’s a pain in the ass."
He flicked whatever was on his finger toward the grass.
"Second..." he yawned. Loudly. "You disturbed my sleep."
The butler’s face twitched.
Hazuki kept going.
"Third... I hate parties. I hate—" he waved his hand vaguely in the air.
"—all that stupid bowing, smiling, and fake polite talking. What do you call it again...?"
He looked at Kisha.
"Formal crap?"
Kisha hesitated.
"...Etiquette?"
"Yeah. That." Hazuki pointed at her like she nailed a quiz question.
"I hate it."
He turned back to the butler.
"Besides." He yawned again, rubbing his eye.
"They won’t even recognize me. I’m not ranked. I’m not noble. I’m just a guy who punched monsters because they pissed me off."
He stared directly at the butler.
"So... go away, mustache freak."
The butler opened his mouth, but no word able to come out from his mouth.
One of the guards coughed awkwardly.
"Go away."
Hazuki yawned again, long and loud, before slowly rising from his squat.
He stretched, scratched his side, then turned around.
But halfway through the doorway..
He stopped.
Turned his head.
And stared directly at the butler.
His voice dropped.
Flat. Cold.
"Don’t disturb my sleep."
Then, something shifted.
A subtle shimmer rolled through Hazuki ,his posture straightened, his steps slowed, and his presence changed.
Ridan had taken the wheel.
Without fanfare, without glow or chant, Hazuki’s eyes lit up with a faint red gleam.
And then...
Pressure.
A wave of spiritual force burst out from Hazuki’s body, crushing the air around him like a falling mountain.
"Or I’ll get serious."
The words came slow. Calm.
But they hit like thunder.
The butler gasped, staggering back with eyes wide.
One of the guards fell to one knee, trembling.
Another gritted his teeth, barely holding back a groan.
Even Kisha, who had been right behind Hazuki, collapsed to the floor, palms pressed to the wooden boards, her breath short.
"Wh-what... is this... pressure...?" she whispered, eyes wide with panic.
And yet—
From across the room, at the low dining table...
The kids kept happily eating, giggling and chomping on buns and stew—completely unaware.
"Yaaay! I got the last meat chunk!"
"Hey! No fair!"
The contrast was absurd.
Terror in the doorway.
Innocence in the room.
Hazuki’s glowing gaze lingered for another second...
Then he turned away.
Hazuki lay sprawled on the couch once more, arms folded behind his head, one leg over the other, eyes barely cracked open.
He muttered with a groggy sigh:
"Damn... I was having a good sleep."
He grumbled as he turned onto his side.
"And that mustache man and his weird people had to come and ruin it."
Ridan floated above him like a smug little storm cloud, spinning once midair with a slow grin.
"Well... you know, Hazuki?"
"Hmm? What now, Ridan?" Hazuki replied, not even opening his eyes.
Ridan spun again.
"Back in my day—thousand years ago— rejecting a noble’s invitation like that would’ve caused a serious problem."
Hazuki snorted, completely unmoved.
"Don’t care."
He raised one hand slightly, then let it drop back onto his stomach.
"If they want to fistfight, I’ll gladly punch those stupid faces."
He yawned again, completely at ease.
"Might even enjoy it. Been a while since I knocked someone through a wall."
Meanwhile...
Kisha, still kneeling near the door, slowly pushed herself up on trembling arms.
Her breathing steadied.
She turned her wide eyes toward Hazuki.
Who was now... talking to no one again.
"...He’s doing it again," she whispered.
Just like always.
Outside the orphanage, the air still felt heavy.
The guards remained stiff, barely daring to breathe.
One of them stepped forward cautiously, his voice low.
"Sir... are you... you alright?"
The butler’s eye twitched, his lip curled in fury.
He turned sharply, fists clenched so tight his gloves creaked.
"Of course not!!"
His shout echoed down the quiet street.
"We’ve been humiliated!! Disgraced!! Made a mockery of—by some commoner savage with no title and no manners!!"
He spun toward the road, cloak flaring dramatically.
"We’re leaving!! Now!!"
The guards quickly fell into step behind him.
"I’m going to report this—personally—to our lord!!"
His voice cracked with frustration.
"That black-haired peasant will learn what it means to insult the noble house of Gurman!!"
As they marched off, boots stomping the dust road in sync, a child’s voice from inside the orphanage floated faintly behind them.
After lunch was finished and the bowls were stacked, the children began drifting off into the courtyard, chasing each other or basking in the afternoon sun.
Meanwhile, Elvia and Chasia walked quietly toward the living room.
And there he was.
Mister Hazuki.
Still sprawled across the old couch, snoring softly, arms folded behind his head, looking like someone who had just won a war and gone right back to bed.
Elvia slowed.
She hesitated for a moment...
Then gently lowered herself onto the floor beside the couch.
"Elvia?" Chasia said, tilting her head.
"Hmm?" Elvia responded, eyes fixed on Hazuki.
Chasia raised a brow.
"Don’t tell me..."
Elvia blinked, expression calm.
"Tell what?" she asked, perfectly innocent.
Chasia narrowed her eyes.
Then smirked.
Without hesitation, she sat right next to Hazuki’s legs.
"You’re doing that thing again."
Elvia looked up.
"What thing?"
Chasia gave her a knowing look.
"The ’I just want to sit nearby, but I’m not staring, but I totally am’ thing."
Elvia’s ears twitched lightly.
"...No, I’m not."
"You totally are."
Chasia smirked mischievously, then leaned down and hugged Hazuki tightly around the waist.
"Ehehe~ He’s going to be my husband once I grow up~" she declared proudly, her voice full of confidence and zero hesitation.
Elvia’s eyes went wide.
"N-No!! You can’t!!" she blurted.
"We’re still kids!!"
Chasia rested her cheek on Hazuki’s chest like it was the most natural thing in the world.
"Hmm? I know."
She smiled smugly.
"That’s why I said—once I grow up."
Elvia stomped lightly, fists clenched at her sides.
"No!! Didn’t you hear!?"
She pointed.
"Mister Hazuki’s already bound by a Pinky Promise Oath!!"
Chasia lifted her head just enough to flash a devious grin.
"Eheheh... I know~"
Elvia blinked. "Then why—"
"Because~" Chasia said, sitting up and crossing her arms with a teasing grin.
"You do know the pinky promise is absolute, right?"
Elvia nodded, cautious.
"But!" Chasia raised a finger.
"If he makes another one with a different girl..."
She leaned in close to Elvia’s ear.
"He can still do it."
Elvia’s ears twitched wildly.
"W-What!?."
