Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 99 - 98: Hungry Enough to Eat People
Chen Mo was both shocked and furious. He watched as his disciple was completely covered in bees, without a single inch of skin visible.
He had no time to chase the Silver White Snake. Saving his disciple was the priority. He raised his palm and, gathering all his strength, struck Jiang Xingze’s body.
Instantly, a powerful shockwave of Qi blasted outward. The thousands of bees on Jiang Xingze’s body fell away with a rustling sound, like sand slipping through fingers. In a flash, the floor was covered with their corpses.
Suddenly, his heart clenched. He slowly turned his head. Now that the "coat" of bees was gone, Jiang Xingze was completely unrecognizable. The sight was too horrible to bear.
Chen Mo remembered his disciple as a bright, handsome young man. But the person lying on the ground now was more terrifying than a Fierce Ghost, covered in wounds from head to toe. Not an inch of his skin was intact. Even his own mother wouldn’t be able to recognize him.
He was in such a wretched state that a single glance would give you nightmares for three days.
But Chen Mo was no ordinary man. Quick as lightning, he placed a hand on Jiang Xingze’s carotid artery to check if he was still alive.
’Stung by thousands of bees at once, his body flooded with venom... even ten lives wouldn’t be enough to survive this.’
At first glance, Chen Mo thought his disciple was dead. But upon checking, he found a faint, almost imperceptible trace of breath.
In medical terms, he was basically dead. That faint breath would completely vanish within minutes.
Besides, Jiang Xingze’s body was riddled with bee venom. His death was certain.
"Ze’Er, it’s Master’s fault. I failed to protect you." Dr. Snake’s face was wracked with guilt. ’Everything changed too quickly the moment I pulled that Silver Needle from the Silver White Snake’s head.’
Chen Mo was filled with regret. ’That damn Silver White Snake is too vicious! A clean kill is one thing...’
’...but it had to torture my disciple until he was neither human nor ghost before letting him die.’
’Even Yama would be disgusted by his hideous appearance in Hell.’
’No. If my disciple dies such a horrible death right in front of me, how could I ever live with myself?’
"Master is here. I won’t let you die. Ze’Er, just hold on!"
Chen Mo’s expression was incredibly grim. He suddenly thought of a possible solution. It might be worth a try.
But just then, with a loud CRASH, the Silver White Snake shattered the glass and flew out.
The Shanye Group headquarters was located in the most bustling part of Wencheng City Center. The corporate tower was fifty-six stories tall, and the laboratory was on the fifty-fifth floor.
With that leap, it was instantly in the open air, fifty-five stories high.
The ten-meter-long Vampire Snake roared at the sky. It didn’t dare follow with a leap of its own. If a ten-meter Giant Snake fell from the fifty-fifth floor, even a peerless Snake Species with exceptionally strong Life Force would certainly be killed on impact.
"Vampire Snake, come back here!"
Chen Mo gave a stern command. The Vampire Snake slithered over like a dragon, raising its head so high that its massive Snake Head nearly touched the laboratory ceiling.
A sharp dagger appeared in Chen Mo’s hand. He looked up at the terrifyingly fierce Vampire Snake and stroked its massive body, which was covered in hard, fire-red scales, impenetrable to any blade or spear.
"My precious, bear with me. I’m afraid I’ll have to borrow some of your blood."
Then, Chen Mo raised the dagger and stabbed at the Vampire Snake’s abdomen. The strike failed to even break through the defense of its fire-red scales.
He took a deep breath and stabbed again with all his might. The Vampire Snake shrieked in pain and reared back, causing the entire laboratory to shake violently.
WHOOSH...
A torrent of fresh blood gushed from the wound. Chen Mo’s eyes lit up. He cupped his hands to catch the Snake Blood. Blood poured from the ten-meter Giant Snake’s wound like water from a faucet.
The blood was like molten lava—dark red and scorching hot, even hotter than boiling water.
Chen Mo caught a handful of the Snake Blood and immediately splashed it over the unrecognizable, horribly wounded Jiang Xingze. Puddles of blood were poured over his body.
The dark red blood splashed onto Jiang Xingze’s countless wounds and was instantly absorbed into his flesh.
At once, Jiang Xingze, who was filled with bee venom and had only a single breath left in him, began to convulse violently. It was as if he were having a terrifying, hysterical fit.
Dr. Snake Chen Mo was overjoyed at this reaction. He continued to pour more of the Vampire Snake’s blood onto Jiang Xingze, as if intending to soak him completely.
Meanwhile, the Vampire Snake loomed over them, its massive Snake Head swaying in agony. Its terrifying Snake Gaze was fixed on Chen Mo, filled with a ferocious light. It looked as if it wanted to swallow him whole.
But right now, Chen Mo’s only thought was to save his disciple’s life. His plan was audacious: to use the Vampire Snake’s Snake Blood to neutralize the bee venom in Jiang Xingze’s body.
Now that the Vampire Snake had become a peerless Snake Species, its Snake Blood was practically a Heavenly and Earthly Treasure, possessing an incredibly powerful Healing ability.
However, Chen Mo wasn’t actually sure if it could truly neutralize the venom. ’Besides,’ he thought, ’even if I save his life, my disciple is ruined. There isn’t a single patch of intact skin on his entire body.’
’The word "disfigured" doesn’t even begin to describe how horrific he looks.’
.............
「Meanwhile...」
After leaping out, Tu Xiao’an, the Silver White Snake, found himself plummeting through the air.
Any other venomous snake would have found its escape to be a dead end. A fall from fifty-five stories would have turned it into a meat paste on the ground.
Fortunately, Tu Xiao’an was a snake that could fly. In his panic, he scrambled to use his Consciousness Power to control his fall.
But his physical condition was extremely poor. The injected Giant Snake Gene was rampaging through his body like a monstrous flood.
Suddenly, Tu Xiao’an felt an overwhelming hunger. A frantic, panicky hunger. He felt as if he hadn’t eaten in a year, so hungry he thought he could swallow an elephant.
He felt that he had to eat something, or this gnawing hunger would kill him.
He vaguely recalled the scene of the Vampire Snake devouring countless other venomous snakes after receiving the Giant Snake Gene. He was in the same situation now.
’Food. Any food will do.’
His body’s revolt made it difficult for Tu Xiao’an to maintain control with his Consciousness Power. He continued to plummet until he was only a dozen meters from the ground, where he finally, painstakingly, managed to arrest his fall.
Below him was the most prosperous district of Shiwen City. Skyscrapers filled the skyline, a world of neon lights and bustling nightlife. The traffic flowed like a river of steel. Looking down from above, he could see a sea of black-haired heads, and the din of the city was unmistakable.
Tu Xiao’an hovered precariously about ten meters up. ’If I fall from here,’ he thought, ’I could kill someone.’
’I have to get out of here, now.’
Hungry. So hungry. The sensation of starvation filled his entire body, and his Snake Gaze began to glow with a faint green light.
And so, a famished Silver White Snake flew unsteadily ten meters above the city center. It looked like a malfunctioning plane about to crash, a heart-stopping sight for anyone who might have seen it.
It wasn’t that Tu Xiao’an didn’t want to fly higher; his condition was simply too poor. It was already taking every ounce of his strength just to stay airborne.
He didn’t dare land. The city streets below were too crowded. He wasn’t afraid of being stepped on or captured; he was afraid that he wouldn’t be able to control his hunger. He might even end up eating someone.
