Invincible Snake Emperor-Chapter 150 - 148: Acknowledge Me as Your Master
Ahhh...
Jiang Xingze drank the Snake Blood without stopping, letting out a groan of pleasure as tendrils of smoke began to curl from every pore of his body.
He was already used to the sight. It meant the bee venom in his body was being suppressed by the Vampire Snake's blood, calming down for now.
The excruciating pain that wracked his body vanished without a trace.
After a moment, Jiang Xingze's gaze turned utterly venomous. An image of a snake surfaced in his mind, one he hated to the very marrow of his bones. 'If it weren't for that Silver White Snake,' he thought, 'I wouldn't have been reduced to this monstrous state, neither human nor ghost.'
'Every day, I'm forced to stay with this Vampire Snake. Without its Snake Blood, I'll die for sure.'
He even felt he wasn't human anymore, but a Snake-man. Snake Blood flowed through his veins, and his personality grew more savage and violent by the day.
Crucially, the blood he drank daily was from a Vampire Snake, a species renowned for its malevolence. It was no surprise that drinking its blood would twist a person into something demonic.
On the other hand, it had to be said that the blood of a Vampire Snake that had become a peerless Snake Species was truly a Heavenly and Earthly Treasure, capable of forcefully keeping a man on the brink of death anchored to the world of the living.
With the bee venom suppressed, Jiang Xingze stopped drinking. He was full.
He turned to look at the Vampire Snake. It had already swallowed the guard whole. Yet, despite having consumed a fully grown man, its belly showed no signs of bloating.
The snake's overall size was even more frightening. In just over half a month, it had exploded in length to twenty meters. The mere sight of it coiled silently was enough to make people flee in terror.
A wicked smile spread across Jiang Xingze's repulsive face. He stretched a hand into the air, and the Vampire Snake's massive head immediately swayed toward him.
"So good. Human flesh is delicious, isn't it?"
He stroked the Vampire Snake's enormous head, his eyes glinting as he spoke. "Acknowledge me as your master. I promise I'll let you eat human flesh every day. At your current stage, only by eating humans can you grow stronger."
"My master only uses you for medicine. You're just an ingredient to him, an experiment. I'm different. I have your blood in my veins. We're connected by blood now."
He continued his slow temptation. "Follow me, and the world will be yours to roam. You won't have to be locked in this cage anymore."
The Vampire Snake's bewitching Snake Gaze shimmered with a ghostly light as it spoke in a terrifying voice, "For now, I cannot escape his control."
Jiang Xingze shook his head and laughed. "My master is only using Snake Spirit to control you. Just stop eating the Snake Spirit he gives you, and you'll no longer have to obey him."
A strange light flickered in the Vampire Snake's bewitching Snake Gaze as it stared at Jiang Xingze.
"Eat this. Acknowledge me as your master."
A small, crimson pill appeared in Jiang Xingze's hand. He held it out before the Vampire Snake's massive, blood-stained maw.
If Dr. Snake had been present, he would have recognized the pill in Jiang Xingze's hand at a glance. It was the very Snake Spirit he had provided, but while the original was a small pill as black as ink, this one had changed color.
Jiang Xingze had played a little trick. He had soaked the Snake Spirit in his own blood, infusing its medicinal properties with his own essence.
He already drank the Vampire Snake's blood daily, meaning his body contained both human blood and Snake Blood. By feeding the Vampire Snake a Snake Spirit soaked in that very blood, the Vampire Snake would surely submit to him completely, acknowledging him as its master and remaining loyal for life.
"You humans are despicable. All of you want to enslave me. You should all die!"
A vicious light flared in the Vampire Snake's eyes. Its crimson scales seemed to pulse with a dancing Flame, and the temperature inside the cage rose abruptly.
That's right—the temperature was rising. It is common knowledge that the Snake Race is cold-blooded, but when the Vampire Snake grew angry, its temperature soared, defying all logic.
The legendary Mutated Bloodsucker Snake was known to be incredibly malevolent; shortly after its appearance, it became the nightmare of every Snake Catcher in Bai Town. Yet now, despite its soaring power and elevated bloodline, it had been reduced to being controlled and enslaved by humans.
How could it possibly be resigned to such a fate? But under the control of the Snake Spirit's properties, it had no choice but to compromise.
"Only by acknowledging me as your master can you act without restraint. Only then will you be free, no longer used as a living medicine."
"Come, eat the pill. Acknowledge me as your master, and I'll get you out of here."
Jiang Xingze hadn't wanted to do this, but his master was planning to send him abroad, which was a clear sign he was being abandoned.
'If he's going to be ruthless, he can't blame me for being treacherous.'
By controlling the Vampire Snake, not only would he survive, but he would also gain a powerful pet. Then, he could finally get his revenge on that damned snake.
Therefore, this was his only option. He had to do it.
The vicious glint in the Vampire Snake's Snake Gaze grew ever more intense. It wanted nothing more than to swallow Jiang Xingze in a single gulp. He was even more despicable than his master.
But an Awakened Creature such as this possessed an intellect on par with a human's; it was exceedingly clever.
It understood the pros and cons. If it killed Jiang Xingze, it would be trapped in this cage forever.
"Go on, eat. Your life will only get better if you follow me."
Suppressing his excitement, Jiang Xingze placed the crimson pill into the Vampire Snake's gaping, bloody maw, watching the snake's reaction all the while.
The Vampire Snake merely stared at Jiang Xingze, its eyes glowing with an increasingly intense, vicious light. It watched, silent and unnerving, as he placed the pill into its mouth, offering no resistance.
After the Vampire Snake successfully swallowed the pill, Jiang Xingze was ecstatic. Controlling this snake felt like possessing the entire world. A torrent of excitement and exhilaration burst forth from him like a flash flood, wild and unstoppable.
"Call me Master!"
Jiang Xingze roared at the Vampire Snake, his heart pounding, fit to burst with excitement.
The Vampire Snake's Snake Gaze turned crimson, brimming with bloodlust. It didn't respond, only stared intently at Jiang Xingze. Suddenly, its twenty-meter body shot upward as if it were about to go berserk. The scene was terrifying.
THUD...
Jiang Xingze was so scared he fell right on his rear. He stared, stunned and terrified, at the Vampire Snake, now risen up like a menacing Sky Pillar. 'Did it fail?'
'Impossible. I'm already connected to it by blood; we're incredibly close. With the Snake Spirit my master gave me, how could I fail to control it?'
ROAR—
An earth-shattering roar ripped through the air, so powerful the entire cage began to shake violently, as if it might collapse at any moment, heralding the apocalypse.
'Did I really fail? Or did I just manage to enrage this vicious snake?'
'What's it going to do? Kill me? Eat me?'
Jiang Xingze was terrified. He was, after all, not his master, Dr. Snake, who possessed an almost innate dominance over all snakes.
In his master's hands, any venomous snake became as docile as a pet—even the notoriously savage Vampire Snake was no exception.
If there had been one single exception, it was that Silver White Snake—the very one that had reduced him to this wretched state, neither human nor ghost.
Back then, in the lab, it had eaten the Snake Spirit and submitted to Dr. Snake, but in the end, it had still raised hell and escaped.
It was the only failure of Dr. Snake's entire life, and that single failure was the very reason Jiang Xingze had become like this.
Because of this, deep down, Jiang Xingze even harbored some resentment for his master. 'Why couldn't he control that damned snake?'
'If he had controlled it, would I have ended up in this monstrous state?'
.................
PS: I'd like to say a few things. To everyone discussing the whole Snake versus Dragon debate: please stop. It's pointless and, frankly, a little ridiculous. This is an Exotic Beast novel with a Snake protagonist. Since the main character is a Snake, the story is naturally going to be about snakes and will highlight their power. The protagonist is always the strongest—that shouldn't be too hard to grasp, right? I'd really rather see people discussing the plot, or at least something related to this book. Also, I, Qing Bai, would like to say something to those who don't care for this novel: If you don't like it, that's fine. If you feel that a Snake's destiny is to become a Dragon, that's fine too. There are countless novels out there about a Snake Becoming a Dragon. You can easily find one to scratch that itch. The reason I'm not writing about a Snake Becoming a Dragon is that nearly every novel about a reincarnated snake follows the same cliché: the ultimate goal is always to become a Dragon.
So, I decided not to write that story. I imagine it gets boring always reading about a Snake Becoming a Dragon, doesn't it?
Can't we try something new for a change?
Of course, if you truly dislike my book and think my writing is poor, I can accept that. You can just arrive quietly and leave quietly. Let's part on good terms. There's no need to go out of your way to leave a negative review in the comments section and curse me out just to feel satisfied. I really don't see the point. It's better to be a decent person. After all, you've been reading this book for free so far. I haven't charged you a single cent. You read it for nothing and then insult me—isn't that a little unfair?
No book can please everyone. All I can do is my best to write it well and hope that more people will come to enjoy it.
So please, I'm begging you, stop with the negative reviews. If you absolutely can't hold it in, just curse me out silently in your own head.
