Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 676 - 656: Customers Flood In
Chapter 676: Chapter 656: Customers Flood In
Fang Min lay on the bed, Tangyu sitting beside it, and the two locked eyes, creating an awkward atmosphere. Fang Min, a mature woman, now revealed a girlish shyness.
"Tangyu, can you step out for a second?" Fang Min suddenly said.
Tangyu replied, "Just get up already. You’re not naked, and I can’t see anything. Besides, I promise I won’t peek." If I looked, it would be openly anyway.
Fang Min said, "I’m wearing pajamas; I need to change clothes."
Change clothes? That’s what I love to watch most.
"Go ahead and change; I told you, I won’t sneak a peek," Tangyu said with a laugh.
Fang Min gave Tangyu a coquettish glance, "When did you become so mischievous? Hurry up and leave, or I won’t get up."
"Not getting up? Then I’ll just join you in bed, I’m pretty tired anyway." Tangyu joked, pretending to lie down, which scared Fang Min enough to push him forcefully, "Are you asking for trouble? Get out now!"
"Alright, alright, I’m leaving. No need to be so fierce," Tangyu relented and finally stepped out. After he left, Fang Min let out a sigh of relief, a smile forming unconsciously on her lips, finding the feeling quite wonderful. It was a sensation she’d never experienced before. They say that couples quarrel at the head of the bed and make up at the foot; lovers’ bickering adds to the romance, doesn’t it? Isn’t that what "fond abuse, the language of love" is all about?
Once Tangyu reached the living room, he realized Fang Min’s parents were not at home. He figured they must have gone shopping, but he had already prepared himself to dine here. When Fang Min came out after a while, Tangyu’s gaze immediately fell on her. Dressed casually, yet maturely alluring, she looked completely captivating in that outfit. At work, Fang Min always wore professional attire, very formal. But today’s light purple dress highlighted all her feminine charms. Revealing just enough to add a touch of temptation.
After all, women tend to look better wearing less.
And the most beautiful sight, of course, is bare-skinned.
Seeing Tangyu’s gaze fixed squarely on her, Fang Min felt a mix of shyness and joy. What woman doesn’t enjoy her beloved man giving her such admiring looks? It was a sense of accomplishment for her.
"Min, you look so beautiful like this, I could almost eat you up," Tangyu said, grinning. Fang Min was like a perfectly ripe peach, tempting anyone who saw her to take a bite.
Fang Min’s face blushed instantly, "Tame your eyes, you’re getting more and more improper."
"I was very proper, but seeing Min, I can’t help myself—I’m just overcome with emotion. Tell me, do you possess some kind of Magic Power that’s turned a pure young man like me into a wolf? Min, you must compensate for my lost purity. This won’t do; you have to take responsibility for me, or it’s too much of a loss for me," Tangyu said, joking in a rare fashion. His personality tended to be reserved but humorously flirtatious, though usually subtly so, seldom so openly.
Having been quietly flirtatious for so long, Tangyu felt it was time for a change, to be more proactive; otherwise, his love life was too full of hardships.
Maybe it was the stimulation brought about by Huangfu Jing, so Tangyu was keen to seize any opportunity, like Zhang Xiaodong was an example of success. With that precedent, Tangyu naturally hoped to apply the same approach to winning over Fang Min.
However, clearly, Fang Min wasn’t falling for it, "That might work on young girls, but not on me."
"What should I do then, Min? How should I pursue you? Just tell me what you want, and I’ll do anything, meeting all your demands. Whether it’s domineering, wild, gentle, artistic, or passionate, I’m game," Tangyu said.
"Pfft—enough with that, you’re just getting more excited as you talk, let’s change the subject. Here, eat an apple and keep your mouth shut," Fang Min, made to laugh by his antics, grabbed an apple and tossed it to Tangyu.
A woman’s smile or frown is always so beautiful.
Tangyu took a bite of the apple, "Mmm, so sweet. The apples you pick really are different, Min. I’ve never tasted an apple this sweet before."
"...Eating doesn’t silence you, and those sweet nothings really don’t work on me," Fang Min said, though her face already revealed a smile—a happy one, a sweet one. If not for the conflicts in her heart, Fang Min would have gladly accepted this love, the romance she had waited for so many years. Love is something you either feel or you don’t. Marriage can be forced, but true feelings cannot.
It’s like a nice girl who might fall madly in love with a rogue, who is terrible to her, even abusive, yet she remains utterly devoted. This is what love feels like.
Over the years, many have pursued Fang Min, many with good prospects, but she always trusted her feelings, refusing anyone if the spark wasn’t there. The dilemma troubling her was that after all these years, the man she had a feeling for was already taken.
"Min, are you free tomorrow?" Tangyu suddenly asked.
Tomorrow was Sunday, Fang Min would normally be off work and was about to say she was free, but she swallowed her words before they came out, "Why?"
"If you’re free tomorrow, let’s go on a date," Tangyu suggested.
"Who wants to go on a date with you?" Fang Min’s mouth curved into a slight smile.
Tangyu curled his lips into a smile; an apple had been devoured without him realizing it, "Then I’ll come pick you up tomorrow."
"I didn’t agree to that," Fang Min muttered softly, looking especially adorable in her girlish way.
"How about I don’t go back today, Min? I’ve stayed overnight here before anyway. In that case, we could have a date tonight and find a place to spend some quality time together tomorrow. How romantic and pleasant would that be?" Seeing Fang Min like this, Tangyu couldn’t resist teasing her further. He felt that he was becoming less and less pure-minded. Ah, what to do – living in such a dazzling world, even purity inevitably turns into a thing of the past.
If these girls were shy, then he would just have to be more proactive.
"Ah!" Fang Min was also startled, her face instantly flushing with shyness. Last time, due to her parents’ insistence, she had allowed Tangyu to stay overnight and even shared a room with him, so they did have the experience of ’spending the night’ together. Seeing Tangyu’s unserious demeanor, Fang Min wasn’t sure if he was joking or serious, leaving her uncertain. Today, Tangyu was indeed acting differently from before; he was too proactive, which made Fang Min seem very passive.
"If Min doesn’t object, then that’s consent by default. Alright, I won’t leave today," Tangyu said.
Fang Min immediately snapped back to reality, responding quickly, "Who said I consented? I’m not keeping you here."
Tangyu pretended to be disappointed as he stood up, "You’re not keeping me? Then I’ll go."
In her urgency, Fang Min subconsciously grabbed Tangyu, "I didn’t say you had to leave now—at least wait until after dinner before you go. Why are you so petty?"
Tangyu curled up his lips into a smile and sat back down, "Alright, Min, I was just teasing you. I came here to eat, after all. Even if you shoo me away, I won’t leave."
Fang Min instantly knew she had been played by Tangyu, stabbing at him in mock anger, "You, you... it feels like you’ve become a whole new person after a few days apart. So boring, don’t joke like that again. Seriously, not one bit of seriousness."
"Hmm, I also feel I’ve changed a lot these past few days, gotten much more handsome. There’s certainly a gap compared to before," Tangyu nodded along.
"Conceited," Fang Min said.
Through teasing and light-hearted bickering, their affection for each other was invisibly drawn closer, and the atmosphere became much more relaxed.
"Dong dong!!"
Fang Min slightly furrowed her brows and got up to open the door – it was her mom and dad returning from shopping, hands full of large and small bags, "Mom, Dad, don’t you have keys? Why bother knocking?"
"Hehe, we didn’t want to disturb you two," Zhang Cuihua said with a smile.
Disturb us?
Fang Min was initially clueless, but after giving it some thought, she caught on and glanced at her mother reproachfully. Disturb what? She and Tangyu weren’t even in a relationship yet. However, there was no use explaining such misconceptions that just kept piling up. Besides, given the subtle relationship between her and Tangyu now, there was no need to explain anymore. Should their playacting become real?
"Xiaomin, you go keep Tangyu company. Your dad and I will start cooking," Zhang Cuihua urged, not wanting to neglect their potential future son-in-law.
No sooner had the door closed than the doorbell rang again.
"Who could that be?" Fang Min turned back to answer the door, only to be stunned by the sight of a group of people at the doorstep, "Uncle Cai, Aunt Liu, Granny Li, Grandpa Wan..."
"Yo, what brings everyone here for a visit?" Fang Tangjing quickly set aside what he was carrying and came over to greet them, his face blooming with a smile. Naturally, he guessed that these neighbors had come to see his potential future son-in-law.
"Hehe, Old Fang, you’re really blessed to have such a fine daughter. I’d be grinning from ear to ear if my daughter were even one-tenth as good as yours," one of them commented.
"Don’t compare your luck with Old Fang’s, that’s just asking for trouble. Hehe, we heard from Aunt Liu that your son-in-law was here, so we came over to join in the fun," another added.
"Right, Old Fang, are you not going to invite us in?"
Upon hearing that these elders had come to see Tangyu, Fang Min’s cheeks could not help but grow warm with a blush.
"Hehe, look at me getting all excited. Come in, come in, everyone; Xiaomin, go pour some tea," Fang Tangjing immediately said.
"Xiaomin, don’t worry about us. We’re just having a look and leaving soon enough, or we’ll crowd your house terribly. Just go on with your business," they assured.
The group entered, amounting to more than ten people, quickly filling up the living room. Concerned that Tangyu might feel awkward, Fang Min also took a seat next to him. Tangyu, however, was entirely at ease, greeting everyone warmly. Confident and responsive to any question, he charmed the older folks into cheerful spirits. A stream of compliments flowed and Fang Tangjing’s laughter was unceasing, while Fang Min’s face was painted with an intense glow of happiness. All the praise nearly reached the skies.
