Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 601 - 595: Speaking with Fists_2
Chapter 601: Chapter 595: Speaking with Fists_2
Feng Chen nodded and made a welcoming gesture to Tangyu. The Feng family patriarch glanced at Tangyu’s back before turning and leaving.
"Tangyu, my grandfather rarely leaves his room, let alone praises anyone, at least you are the highest praise I’ve ever heard come from my grandfather. My grandfather’s judgment is very keen, a person he approves of could never be lacking. Compared to you, I truly feel lackluster and even ashamed. I’m afraid I’ll have difficulty obtaining even a word of praise from my grandfather in my whole life," Feng Chen said, his tone clearly tinged with sadness and loss.
Tangyu looked at Feng Chen and could tell he was a very filial descendant; he worked so hard, all for the sake of bringing honor to the Feng Family.
"Don’t say that, you’re actually very outstanding. Among the Five Young Masters of Donglin, the reputation of ’Magic Feng Chen’ isn’t for nothing," Tangyu said.
Feng Chen gave a self-deprecating smile, shook his head, and said, "Those are just empty titles after all. Even if I really were one of the Five Young Masters of Donglin, in my grandfather’s eyes, they mean nothing, just like children playing house."
"If you say so, then many other wealthy young masters might as well just commit suicide. Everyone has their own path to follow, and it’s enough to do well on that path. There’s no need to pursue deliberately; that’s just too exhausting. Maybe what I’m saying doesn’t align with your views. I’m just saying it casually, anyways—I’m not the kind of person with any grand ambitions or aspirations. In any case, I’m someone who goes with the flow and finds contentment in what I have," Tangyu said.
Feng Chen shook his head with a smile; if he really felt that way, he would probably have been kicked out of his grandfather’s house long ago.
"You’re an interesting person. I can only do my best to satisfy my grandfather," Feng Chen said with a wry smile.
"Since it’s your choice, then go for it. You’re still young; the road ahead is long," Tangyu said.
"Hmm, thank you," Feng Chen nodded.
As they arrived at the front yard, Tangyu’s eyes paused for a moment. Feng Tian and Fang Yishui, who had been quarreling nonstop earlier, were now getting along like best friends, sitting and laughing together. Moreover, Feng Tian was calling her ’senior sister’ with great affection. In just a little over an hour they hadn’t seen each other, what kind of act were these two playing at? They had gone from noisy quarrels to loving like a family?
"Master, you’ve treated my father’s illness, haven’t you? How is he?" Feng Tian came over and asked.
"Hmm, the condition is not bad," Tangyu said.
"Hehe, that’s great then. With the master personally on the case, it must be fine for sure. Oh right, master, I found out that senior sister is pretty amazing. You’re biased for teaching her so much and not teaching me," Feng Tian said.
Tangyu glared at Fang Yishui. When did he teach Fang Yishui a lot of things?
Fang Yishui made a triumphant face toward Tangyu. It seemed this girl had managed to conjure up something out of her glib tongue.
"I’ll teach you next time. I still have things to do, so I’m going first," Tangyu said.
"You’re leaving just like that? Your phone isn’t reachable, master. How will I find you next time?" Feng Tian asked.
Tangyu said, "Take out your phone and jot down my new number. The old one’s not in use anymore. Remember, don’t tell anyone my new number, no matter who asks. People I need to inform, I’ll handle it myself."
"Don’t worry, master. You’re a celebrity now. A phone number shouldn’t be leaked, right? I get it. I won’t tell anyone," Feng Tian pledged while patting his chest.
After reporting the number and having Feng Tian memorize it, Tangyu said his goodbyes and left, with Fang Yishui naturally taking on the role of the driver.
"Fang Yishui, how did you manage to tame Feng Tian?" Tangyu asked with some curiosity. After all, it was boring in the car, so he just casually asked.
Speaking of this, Fang Yishui was very proud and pleased, smiling smugly: "Dealing with that simple-minded, brawny Feng Tian is just a piece of cake, easily handled. I just casually bluffed him a bit, then with my unsurpassed beauty, all it took was a little charm, and like that, he was taken care of."
"I don’t know about Feng Tian’s taste, but clearly, he’s not the least bit interested in you," Tangyu said.
"Go die, go die, go die; I’m very pretty, okay? The boys chasing me at school could circle around the campus a few times. It’s just you who has no taste," Fang Yishui retorted angrily, as women care a lot about their beauty. Of course, Fang Yishui really was pretty, though she lacked a bit of feminine charm. Her unique style, however, had its own appeal.
"It’s not a question of taste or no taste. Feng Tian really likes you, just not your type," Tangyu said.
"...Depressing, are you even my master? You just know how to bring me down, annoying," Fang Yishui said.
Tangyu smiled and said, "This is called ’You respect me an inch, I’ll respect you a fraction.’ Besides, I’m the master, and you’re the disciple. You don’t even have a little respect for your master."
"Alright, I’m slowly learning, okay? I can’t do what you do, so how can you blame me? Enough about that. Giggle, if you want to know how I subdued Feng Tian, praise me a bit. Praise me twice, and I’ll spill the beans," Fang Yishui said.
"Then don’t say it, I’d rather you burst with curiosity," Tangyu replied.
"Would praising me kill you? As a master, you should often praise your disciple, right? Otherwise, how could a disciple have confidence? Alright, let’s settle it with fists, speak with our fists. My fist is hard, so naturally, Feng Tian became subdued. He kept pestering me to fight, so I just obliged. He thought he was really something, looking down on me, but after I used the Tai Chi Mysteries three forms, he was laid straight down on the ground, completely tamed. How about that, I’m awesome, right?" Fang Yishui said with a face full of pride.
"It should be me who’s awesome," Tangyu said.
"...Narcissist."
"Fair point."
The back-and-forth banter between the two was incredibly cheerful, like a playful pair of feuding friends.
Tangyu’s phone suddenly rang. Ever since he changed his number and only a few people were privy to it, Tangyu’s world had become quieter, with very few calls coming in. Picking up the phone, he saw that it was an unfamiliar number. It seemed strange, somewhat familiar, but he couldn’t immediately recall who it might be from. After some thought, Tangyu still answered the call, only to hear the voice of Chairman Bi: "Tangyu, it’s become quite difficult to reach you these days, it took me quite some effort."
"Chairman Bi, it’s you? I didn’t know who it was. How did you get my number again?" Tangyu asked.
"Of course, I asked your girlfriend," Chairman Bi replied.
Then it dawned on Tangyu; no wonder Chairman Bi had his number. Besides Lin Feifei, no one else would likely have divulged his phone number so easily. Of course, only if Chairman Bi had inquired would Lin Feifei have given it; she wouldn’t have likely done so for anyone else.
"Chairman Bi, you’re in such a hurry to find me, is something the matter?" Tangyu inquired.
Chairman Bi’s tone suddenly became grave: "There’s an issue, and it’s a major one. Come to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association right away, we’ll talk in detail when you get here. I know you may be reluctant, but this matter is closely related to you. Come over now, the rest of the Traditional Chinese Medicine team is also making their way here."
"Alright then, I’ll head over now," Tangyu agreed. After hanging up, Tangyu’s brows furrowed slightly. What major issue was so urgent it required gathering the entire Traditional Chinese Medicine representative team?
Shaking his head, unable to figure it out, he decided to stop speculating and knew he would find out once he got to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association.
"What’s wrong, Master? Is something the matter?" Fang Yishui asked.
"I don’t know. Take me to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association," Tangyu replied.
"Oh, alright then, hold tight, Master," Fang Yishui immediately nodded.
Twenty minutes later, Fang Yishui had dropped Tangyu off at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association. This time, Fang Yishui didn’t insist on following in to play, knowing that Tangyu had business to attend to and wouldn’t act foolishly.
"Master, if you need me to pick you up later, just give me a call. I’ll be your free driver," Fang Yishui said, finally uttering a considerate statement.
"I shouldn’t need to. Go back for now, and if there’s anything, I’ll call you," Tangyu replied with a smile.
"Fine, this miss is at your service 24/7," Fang Yishui said.
Tangyu blinked, finding this statement somehow off, it sounded weird. Fang Yishui seemed to realize her words came off a bit strange and quickly added, "I’m talking about my phone, not me personally."
Tangyu curled his lips into a smile and said, "I thought you meant your person. Got my hopes up for nothing. Turns out it’s just your phone, quite disappointing."
"What?" a flush of embarrassment crossed Fang Yishui’s face, and with a stomp, she ran off in a puff of smoke. Watching Fang Yishui flee, Tangyu chuckled and shook his head as he walked into the Traditional Chinese Medicine Association.
