Interstellar Number One Farmer: I Only Want To Farm!-Chapter 423 - 130_2
"She’s a public figure now, what’s going on? If she’s going to carry the title of a coach, she should act like one; it’s not just for show, otherwise it’s lying."
"Coach or not, Su Xiaocai doesn’t need your acknowledgment to be a coach."
"The Vegetable Farmer Team has no objections, Su Xiaocai herself has no objections, but now some random people jump out, demanding Su Xiaocai to prove she’s a coach. It’s really funny."
"Watch the match, watch the match, the competition has started."
Xing Miao stood at the command center, currently positioned within a lush planetary fortress.
The opponent’s fortress was 300 kilometers away.
Previously, both sides had become mortal enemies over a mineral resource.
For reconnaissance of the mineral site, Wu Qingqing encountered five people from the opposing side.
As soon as the match started, the enemy and our side were face to face.
The five from King’s Contempt were momentarily stunned, then raised their weapons.
Wu Qingqing quickly retreated, escaping their line of sight in less than five seconds.
But their weapons had already auto-locked onto the target.
From Wu Qingqing’s image feedback, Xing Miao saw her situation and knew King’s Contempt would surround her.
Xing Miao asked Wu Qingqing, "Do you want to challenge them yourself, or should I command and avoid their attack?"
Wu Qingqing: "Definitely avoid their attack. I don’t need to reveal all my strength at the start."
Audience: We want to see it, please go all out, Qingqing!
Xing Miao immediately commanded, "Direction at five o’clock, throw out the interference device, retreat 300 meters."
Almost as soon as Xing Miao said "five o’clock," Wu Qingqing had already, out of instinct, thrown a small, ball-shaped interference device and continued running.
King’s Contempt’s artillery fired thunderously, missing completely. It toppled a few trees and left a charred crater, but not even a fire started because of the high humidity.
The announcer said, "See that? Top players love to carry interference devices because many players like to use tracking missiles initially. Tracking missiles can be easily neutralized. Timing it right, a small interference device can render them useless."
Without a second thought, the five Standard Mechas of King’s Contempt pursued. They had some prior knowledge about the Vegetable Farmer Team, but not in depth. They only knew most members were Military Training freshmen and sophomores.
They had watched solo match videos of the ten from Vegetable Farmers, but without professional analysts, they just felt the Vegetable Farmers’ driving skills were simple, with quick reflexes. They thought they could manage it themselves as well.
It was a mysterious confidence—"I can do it too"—a sense of inflated self-esteem, hence they paid little attention.
Of course, they were here to have fun, with no thought of necessarily entering the finals.
Wu Qingqing retreated so fast they blamed her for being too cowardly, only sending out one person, so confident yet unwilling to confront them directly.
"Activate the scanner."
With the scanner on, there was no trace of mecha on the interface.
"Switch to radar."
"Over ten locations with readings, possibly interference devices."
"Life detector?"
"This area is full of biological life, with hundreds detectable. Should we check them one by one?"
King remained calm, "Search around. Shoot to test any spot with activity." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
The mineral site was in the valley, shaped like a depression. The dense vegetation overhead obscured the view extending into the distance.
With no luck finding anything, King had to choose to take flight.
"What about command over there, can they locate the enemy?"
The command for King’s Contempt: "Integrated maps show nothing, the mecha should still be nearby. Improvise." They also deployed drones but, lacking Xing Miao’s insight, could only cautiously advance.
Having thrown out more than ten interference devices, Wu Qingqing hid within the dense forest and shut down the mecha.
With no energy reactor or large-scale equipment generating energy signatures, the enemy couldn’t locate the mecha at all.
Who would think Wu Qingqing would audaciously power down to avoid detection?
Upon seeing the terrain and specific environment, Xing Miao instructed Wu Qingqing to hold her position.
The drones she deployed had reached the valley, and before the enemy could notice, Xing Miao said, "They’re airborne. You can start now, target the mecha with the blue weapon, understand?"
"Understood!"
The audience listened to Xing Miao’s command and watched Wu Qingqing’s current position.
With the canopy blocking the sky, how would she aim? Using the detector? Energy feedback mirror? Or the magnetic sensor?
Any of these would undoubtedly risk revealing her position instantly.
Wu Qingqing rebooted the mecha, throwing a small ball into the air. It was an inconspicuous live-feed instrument, so small even the detector could hardly identify it.
