Chapter 102: Avalon, The City of Fire Dragon Clan

With their improved abilities, their flying speed and magic endurance have also increased.

Earlier, Aurora could only fly up to the Wasteland’s border. But, after flying for eight hours without stopping, they finally arrived at the land.

Their objective was not to arrive at the original border, but much deeper. Aiden’s aim was to arrive at the former palace ruins, where the first fragment of the Chronos Fire Dragon beast essence was found.

Aiden squinted, the fire had been extinguished in the earthen hollow where Azar’s fire spear had been. He saw that there was no one there, not even a single fire dragon clan warrior.

He and the others left Clovis at six in the morning. Now, they arrived at the ruins at two in the afternoon. They had about four more hours to find the whereabouts of the fire dragon clan warrior.

Aiden and Joe dismounted from their mounts. The two stepped around the place to find their tracks. Still, they found nothing.

Aurora and Rachel transformed back into humans in different sparkles of magic energy, according to their dominant elements. Rachel fell to her knees, Aurora turned around and helped her up.

"I’m fine, Sis Aurora. I’m just a bit tired," Rachel whispered.

"We’ll rest here, let them look for them," Aurora replied.

Rachel nodded. They stepped together near a lush tree, the only tree that hadn’t been affected by Aiden’s fight with Azar. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

The dark-haired girl was silent for a moment, sitting against the tree trunk while taking a deep breath occasionally.

Aurora got up, looked back and saw Aiden and Joe still doing their part.

"I didn’t find anything, Aiden!" Joe shouted from the other side of the place.

Aiden was silent, his head scanning the surrounding area to see if there was anything suspicious to him. However, the Wasteland was just a barren plain, filled with sand, rocks, cactus, and dead trees.

As Aiden stepped further, his foot accidentally touched something on the ground. It created magic runes which activated and enlarged in that place, until they extended to the area where Aurora and Rachel were resting.

"What are you doing?" asked Aurora, panicking.

"I don’t know!" said Aiden, confused.

Seeing the mysterious magic runes that had appeared, Aiden and Joe ran over to Aurora and Rachel. Joe pointed his purple spear forward, Aiden brought up his light fire spear.

Aurora stood by behind them, ready to help Aiden and Joe with her ice magic. Slowly, the circular red magic rune mysteriously disappeared.

"Disappeared? What exactly are those magic runes?" Aurora asked.

’Perhaps it was a incomplete magic rune? But even if it’s not complete, it should have some effect,’ replied Aiden.

"Did you feel anything?" asked Aiden, looking behind him.

The three shook their heads, none of them had felt anything since the mysterious magic runes had appeared. They also assumed it was a fake magic rune.

"There’s no way it’s a fake magic rune. There were no such magic runes when we got here," Aiden replied.

"Are you saying that the magic runes were made by the Fire Dragon Clan?" asked Aurora.

Aiden nodded. Only those with the courage and ability to do so, given that it was difficult for human race mages or adventurers to get to this place.

Not long after, what Aiden had guessed happened. A red glow appeared from the edge of the horizon, about 40 people in number. Aiden told Aurora and the others to be ready.

It was the Fire Dragon Clan! They came with 35 warriors wearing red armor and magic wings, while the remaining five were the ones wearing dragon-red uniforms and long robes.

"HAHA!"

"It wasn’t hard for us to find you, Aiden!" said one of the five in the red uniform.

"Who are you? Where’s Azar?" asked Aiden.

"The prince doesn’t need to come to face you. Just me!" said the man, pointing downwards.

The gesture was a signal of danger to Aiden and his friends. 35 Fire Dragon clan warriors pointed their fire spears ahead, threatening them.

"So, are you going to come with us willingly or do we have to force you to come by force?" the man asked, glaring at Aiden.

Aiden was silent for a moment. Fighting was unnecessary here, he was tired of fighting these days. He looked back and looked at Aurora. Aurora nodded, also reluctant to start a fight.

"Alright. We’ll go willingly," Aiden replied.

Aiden’s answer brought relief and satisfaction to the five early elders of the Fire Dragon Clan.

If a fight had broken out, it was feared that they would have failed to bring Aiden and returned home wounded.

"Good," the man said.

That man, the leader of the five early elders of the Fire Dragon Clan, was seen patting his magic pouch.

He brought forth a boat that could fly, to help Aiden and his friends leave without using their magic.

Aiden climbed onto the boat, followed by Aurora, Rachel, and Joe. The man raised a hand, allowing the fire dragon clan warriors to stop being cautious and start flying home.

The five early elders of the Fire Dragon Clan landed on the flying boat, walking over to Aiden with stern faces full of seriousness. The other elders focused on balancing the boat for stable flight.

"It’s surprising to see you still alive after being hit by Prince Azar’s World-Destroying Fire Spear. The prince is right, you have a unique ability," replied the Fire Dragon Clan’s early elder leader Nor.

"Did he tell you about it?" Aiden asked.

"All the elders knew about it. He reported it directly to the Fire Dragon King."

"The Fire Dragon King?" said Aiden.

There was an uneasy feeling whenever Aiden heard the name of the Fire Dragon Clan King, as if that man was truly powerful and could rule the world.

Earlier, Azar had even threatened that the Fire Dragon Clan would not hesitate to invade the humans if Aiden refused to come.

The old man before Aiden saw the young man’s anxiety. He stepped back to the front of the flying boat, standing with the other early elders of the Fire Dragon Clan.

"If Princess Amber’s words are true about you, you should have no need to be so anxious," the man said, Aiden stunned that his facial expression was read by him.

"I am not afraid. I am indeed the Envoy Master!"

"Haha! Only the King and the legacy of the Goddess Magical Astralis will decide that," the man explained.

Suddenly, the flying boat came to a stop. The man who had been talking to Aiden pointed his hand forward, emitting a fire laser to open a special protective gate of the Fire Dragon Clan’s territory.

The door opened sideways, like a tearing dimension. Aiden gasped, and so did everyone else. Aiden’s guess was right, the Fire Dragon Clan’s abilities exceeded those of the human race.

The flying boat began to fly again, entering through the rift until it arrived at a large city with a high civilization. Skyscrapers were made with many fire dragons flying freely in the sky, much different from Miresvoir’s city.

"So, this is the Fire Dragon Clan’s city?" asked Aiden, shocked as he looked to the side below, the others following.

"Yes. This is Avalon, the Fire Dragon Clan’s Main City," Nor explained.

"Then, where’s the Fire Dragon Clan Palace?" asked Aurora.

"We’re flying towards it. The King and Queen are looking forward to seeing the human who tamed their daughter," said Nor.

"You’d better be prepared! The Fire Dragon Clan doesn’t take easily to visitors of foreign races and clans."
