Imperial Phoenix Rules-Chapter 83 - Xiao Jin’s Plot
Chapter 83: Xiao Jin’s Plot
With a loud rumble, the stone door slowly opened to reveal a pathway.
Jun Mohuang was cautious by nature. Even though Xiao Jin had repeatedly guaranteed that there wouldn’t be any danger,
She stood at the entrance of the cave and sensed for a while. After devising an escape plan, she wheeled Jun Jianlin in.
The stone walls of the pathway were carved with lifelike murals. There were luminous pearls the size of a fist embedded every five meters.
Under the soft light of the Night-Luminescent Pearl, Jun Mohuang and Jun Jianlin could clearly see the contents of the mural.
The murals were the same as the ones on the stone door. They were all about the various birds and beasts paying their respects to the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
The deeper they went into the cave, the stronger the beasts and birds were.
Jun Mohuang’s horizons had been broadened along the way. She had never known that there were so many types of demons on this mainland.
After a few hundred meters, she suddenly stopped in front of a mural.
There were two familiar beasts in the mural – Huan Yun Beast and Bai Ze.
As Huan Yun Beast was the Totem Beast of the royal family, every citizen of Huan Yun was familiar with this beast.
Bai Ze was the Totem Beast of the Bai Ze royal family. Jun Mohuang was familiar with its image as it was present in the war between the two countries some years back.
These two types of beasts had level 4 bloodlines, which were higher than the Gold-Swallowing Beast’s level 3 bloodline.
The bloodline hierarchy in Cangyuan Continent was strict. A beast with a level 4 bloodline would never worship a beast with a level 3 bloodline.
The only explanation was that the Gold-Swallowing Beast’s bloodline used to be higher than that of the other two types of beasts. It should have been at level 5.
But for unknown reasons, its bloodline had been degraded.
However, the Jun Family had no records of this information about the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
Jun Mohuang and Jun Jianlin looked at each other in bewilderment.
Since the previous Heads of the Jun Family had come here before, why hadn’t they revealed this secret before?
After walking for a while, the content on the stone wall was more or less the same. It was filled with scenes of birds and beasts paying their respects to the Gold-Swallowing Beast.
They were all of level 3 bloodlines.
After half an hour, they finally reached the end.
At the end was a larger mural on the right and a stone room on the left.
The larger mural had mostly fallen off. Only four beasts were faintly visible, but their appearances could not be seen clearly.
The left stone room held the tablets of the previous Heads of the Jun Family. There were a total of more than 300 tablets, but there was nothing else besides these tablets.
“Xiao Jin, is this the treasure you were talking about?”
Jun Mohuang looked at the dense array of tablets in disbelief. Could it be that the materials used to make these tablets were special and they were some sort of heavenly treasure?
“Master, don’t worry. I need a few drops of your blood.”
Xiao Jin brought Jun Mohuang out of the stone room and back to the end of the pathway.
“Opening the treasure requires a drop of Master’s blood.”
It first drew a few drops of blood with a needle and dripped it onto an inconspicuous round rock at the end of the pathway.
Xiao Jin’s life was bound to hers. If she died, Xiao Jin would die with her.
It wouldn’t hurt her.
Jun Mohuang followed its instructions and dripped a drop of her own blood on the round rock.
In the next moment, a stone door suddenly appeared on the cliff at the end of the pathway.
The stone door opened automatically and a bottomless abyss appeared before them.
Night pearls of various sizes were embedded in the rock walls of the abyss, illuminating this space.
With the light of the Night-Luminescent Pearl, Jun Mohuang saw that there seemed to be a large beast hibernating in the abyss.
She was about to take a closer look when she felt something round knock her on her back. She fell from the edge of the abyss.
