Immortal Supreme: Sovereign of the Grand Dao-Chapter 272: Telford’s Power: Nascent Soul?
The armored figure standing beside Arthur raised his sword slightly in a deliberate motion.
The weapon gleamed with a strange light that hurt to look at directly. It wasn’t normal light but something else entirely.
Everyone’s eyes watered when they tried to focus on the blade for more than a second. Some people had to look away completely because the pain became too much.
"This is Telford," Arthur said in a calm voice that carried across the silent arena. "My servant."
The moment those words left Arthur’s mouth, Telford released his aura without warning. It crashed down on the entire arena like an invisible tsunami. The pressure felt like a mountain had been dropped on everyone’s shoulders all at once.
Every single person felt it immediately strike their bodies. Even the three Martial Saints took steps backward without meaning to. Their feet moved on instinct as their bodies recognized the overwhelming danger.
Emperor Markus’s eyes widened in shock. His mouth opened slightly.
His own aura felt small compared to what radiated from this armored figure. It was like comparing a candle flame to the sun.
’What kind of power is this?’ he thought with disbelief. ’This level shouldn’t exist in our realm!’
Old Man Whitebeard and Darius Noir both broke out in cold sweat within seconds. Drops ran down their faces.
Their robes became damp and stuck to their skin. They were Martial Ancestors with decades of cultivation behind them.
They’d lived through countless battles and faced death many times.
But this presence made them feel like children standing before an ancient dragon. Their years of experience meant nothing in the face of this power.
The rebels fell to their knees under the massive pressure. Their legs simply gave out beneath them.
They had no choice in the matter. Thomas Hartfield couldn’t even lift his head to look up at what was happening. His neck muscles refused to work properly.
Kaiser’s face went completely white. All color drained from his skin until he looked like a corpse. His hands shook violently against the ground.
The sect leaders who’d joined the rebellion gasped for air. Some of them started crying without realizing it.
Tears ran down their faces as primal fear took over their minds. They’d made a terrible mistake. They understood that now with perfect clarity.
The five Nether Realm invaders reacted immediately to Telford’s presence. They recognized the danger before anyone else in the arena.
This power was beyond a Martial Saint. This was something far more terrifying. Something that shouldn’t exist in this world according to everything they knew.
"Retreat!" one of them shouted urgently to his companions. His voice cracked with panic.
Dark energy swirled around their bodies like living shadows as they attempted to escape through the barrier that sealed the arena.
Another invader chose to attack instead of running. He decided to eliminate the threat directly.
Black flames shot from his hands toward Arthur’s position. The flames carried corrupted energy that twisted the air around them. They moved fast like striking serpents.
Telford moved in response. He didn’t seem to walk or run normally.
One moment he stood beside Arthur in his original position. The next moment he appeared directly in front of the attacking invader. No one saw him cross the distance between those two points. He just appeared there as if space itself didn’t matter.
His sword flashed once in a simple motion. There was nothing fancy about the movement. Just a basic horizontal slash. But the power behind it was absolute.
The black flames vanished as if they never existed. They didn’t explode or fade away. They simply ceased to be. The invader froze mid-attack with his arms still extended forward. His entire body went rigid. His eyes widened in his hood as he realized what had just happened.
Before anyone could blink or process what they’d seen, Telford moved again. His speed was impossible to follow with normal eyes.
Even the Martial Saints couldn’t track his movements properly with their enhanced perception. He became a blur that shifted between positions. One second here. The next second there. Moving between the invaders with purpose.
*Clang! Clang! Clang!*
Mysterious chains materialized from nowhere in the air above them. They weren’t normal chains made of metal.
These glowed with an otherworldly light. Strange symbols covered every link. The symbols seemed to shift and change as you looked at them.
They wrapped around all five invaders at the same time with perfect precision. The chains glowed with strange symbols that seemed to burn into the invaders’ bodies where they made contact. Smoke rose from the points of contact.
"What is this?!" one invader screamed in pain and fear.
His voice broke as the agony hit him. He pulled at the chains with all his strength. His muscles strained.
But the chains only tightened further in response. The more he struggled, the tighter they became. The symbols glowed brighter with each movement.
The other invaders tried different methods. One attempted to phase through the chains using a shadow technique.
Another tried to burn them with dark fire. A third tried to freeze them with ice energy. Nothing worked. Every technique failed completely. The chains couldn’t be affected by any power they possessed.
Their cultivation was being suppressed rapidly. They could feel it draining away. The overwhelming power they’d displayed moments ago faded like water draining from a broken cup.
Within seconds, all five were bound and helpless on the ground. They lay there unable to move properly. They couldn’t move their limbs more than an inch. They couldn’t use any techniques or channel any energy. Their power was completely sealed away.
Telford returned to Arthur’s side as if nothing had happened. He walked back with normal steps this time. He stood in the same position as before with his sword held at his side.
The entire sequence took less than ten seconds from start to finish. Ten seconds to completely neutralize five powerful invaders from another realm.
Complete silence filled the arena. No one could speak. No one dared to move or make a sound.
They could only stare in absolute shock at what just occurred before their eyes. Their minds struggled to process what they’d witnessed.
The rebels felt their last hope die. They’d thought the invaders might cause enough chaos for them to escape.
But that hope was crushed instantly. If beings this powerful could be defeated so easily, what chance did they have?
The sect leaders finally understood the true gap between themselves and real power. They’d thought reaching Martial Saint was the peak. They were wrong. So completely wrong.
Qin Tian’s body shook where he stood. His master’s voice came through their connection. It sounded different now. Frightened. ’That armor... those chains... I’ve seen records of them in ancient texts. This servant of Arthur’s... he might be a Nascent Soul Realm at minimum. Possibly even higher.’ 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
’Higher than Martial Saint?’ Qin Tian thought back in disbelief.
’There are levels beyond what this continent knows,’ his master replied grimly. ’We need to be very careful now. One wrong move and we’re dead. Although we are not invaders like the others we might be viewed with hostility considering our true identities’
