I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!-Chapter 208: It must not be important
He had spent almost everything he had last month before he first received that unknown profit, making all his loss go to waste.
"I can sell the items I received from Necropolis. But everything I have left, can be traced back to them. Similarly, it will lead them to me. At a time like this, I can’t bring them out, or leave a trail."
Leo wondered where he could get the money from. So far, he had been relying on Auctioning Treasures, but most of them were ones that were rare, yet could still be found at places, and couldn’t be linked to Necropolis.
Unfortunately, all that he had left now, was the rarest of the rare, and clearly related to Necropolis. Unless one was a fool, they could find the link.
"That little bastard... He just had to die after being kidnapped. What’s the point of being from the ancient house if you’re going to die so easily? Couldn’t you wait for a few months?"
He couldn’t help but click his tongue, remembering the youngster that was kidnapped by him.
"As for the fools that were responsible for taking care of him, don’t let me catch you! Even if you’re a prince, I’ll still crack that skull of yours for giving me such stress."
In frustration, he cursed the prince of Necropolis, as well as Timmy.
He had given that bastard a new phone, just so that he could find them again in case they were lost. But that phone was the first to disappear.
"Then again, if the hostage from the ancient house is dead, then those two might also be dead... If that’s the case..."
He let out another sigh, feeling a bigger headache.
If the prince of Necropolis had also died, then he really couldn’t let himself be found out. After all, he would be the biggest suspect if that happened.
"For now, I should focus on what I can control... I need to go back to the roots..."
He closed his eyes again, and stopped thinking, feeling his blood pressure rising again.
....
Soon, Leo’s ship finally returned to their space sector where things had calmed down a lot.
The space sector wasn’t under a lockdown anymore. And even if it was, no one would have dared to block the ship of Earth’s Lord who had taken out the Lionel Family.
If anything, the families that had a bad relationship with him, including the other banks, had been sending gifts and messages to let bygones be bygones. They were even willing to collaborate.
"Finally... I never thought I would feel so relieved to be back! But after going through such a nightmare, this barren planet truly looks like heaven to me!"
Trent was the first to jump out of the ship, landing before the only branch of Leo’s Bank, on a planet that was solely owned by him.
As it was the day for their return, the bank and the entire planet was closed for the customers.
Even if someone wanted to sneak inside, they couldn’t. Now that Leo’s battle fleet had been revealed, there was no need to hide it anymore.
The battlefield was already stationed around the planet, like guards to prevent any intruders.
The other half of the fleet was stationed around earth, albeit with nothing to do since the Hero Tower was there.
"So you do know how to show your face. Are you feeling better?" Archmage Ulen asked Leo, while carrying a man on his shoulder.
The man on his shoulder had a moustache and the skin of his face looked a little off, considering his face shape. Many even wondered about the identity of that man, but they didn’t question it.
"I’m feeling better," Leo answered.
"Good. By the way, what should I do with this man? Since his family is already in ruins, does he even hold any importance? Are you going to torture him?" Ulen asked.
"Aren’t you in a competition with Yang to see who could make a better city? I’m sure you can use more workers, right?"
Leo didn’t really care about the old man. Although he did order the Watchdogs to lock him up, that was personal. That was at least fair since they targeted him, and not those close to him.
The one who took things too far was Fiona. He didn’t think he would find pleasure in torturing this old man who was already half a step through the door of death.
What was true hell for a person like this? For someone who had lived as the wealthiest man, enjoying all the luxuries of life, accepting respect from everyone, what could be worse than death?
There was nothing worse for him than falling to the bottom of the food chain.
Leo was certain that Ulen was going to find a way to make him work while ensuring that he couldn’t kill himself. As a mage, this was something he was truly capable of.
"Are you certain? Didn’t you say you wanted some key from him?"
"If you didn’t let him die, then I’m certain he would beg me to take the key from him. It’s only a matter of time. Until then, use him well."
Leo didn’t say much more. He walked past Ulen, waving his hand lightly.
"I wish you both the best. I really look forward to seeing whose city looks the best."
His words weren’t just targeted at Ulen, but also at Yang, igniting the fighting spirit within them.
"Of course I will win! Is there even some suspense left in that?" Yang exclaimed, his ego not even able to think about defeat.
"Strange. Why do I feel like I forgot something important?" Suddenly, he thought out loud.
Eventually, he shook his head. "Well, if I forget, it must not be that important."
He tapped his feet on the ground, jumping forward, disappearing into the sky.
Meanwhile, Ulen scratched his forehead. "Wasn’t this entire trip to find the bald sage?"
He knew what Yang had forgotten, but he didn’t remind him. With a smirk, he disappeared with the Lionel Family Patriarch.
