I’ll Become a Villainess That Will Go Down in History-Chapter 369
Gilles (Age: 12)
After Henry and Duke saved me, I tried not to push myself too hard.
In order to save Gramps, I have to stay healthy. It would be a complete disaster if I overworked myself and couldn’t do anything.
Besides, I had the most powerful allies, like Henry, Duke, Mel, and others. I was not alone. I am not alone.
I told them the whole story of Gramps’ illness and how I had seen him vomiting blood.
They were surprised, but soon became serious, and we worked together to find a solution.
I was sure they were all upset and shocked inside, but they never showed it.
I was the only one being childish, I thought.
Putting aside the struggle between the Liz and Alicia factions at the school, the four of us desperately searched for a solution to cure Gramps’ illness but we couldn’t find it. We couldn’t do it on our own.
It seemed that we could not help Gramps without a herb called Maddie, which we might be able to manufacture if we could find out what Maddie was made of.
Fortunately, Gramps’ Spotted Disease progressed slowly. It differed from person to person; some died within a few weeks, while others lived for several years. However, it was difficult to determine life expectancy because of the disparity between age and gender.
Some children lost their lives early, while some old people lived for a long time.
The four of us gathered in the school’s old library, which was even more noisy than before. Liz was trying to keep a low profile, and the Five Nobles and Curtis were trying to suppress the commotion.
We could do a lot of research on Spotted Disease because of that.
We hadn’t informed the nobles about Gramps’ Spotted Disease yet.
“I better check on Uncle’s condition.”
Everyone nodded at Duke’s words.
“Maybe Gramps is pushing himself too hard.”
“Spotted Disease is said to be incurable in Duelkis country. I am sorry.”
Henry apologized a little with a look of frustration on his face.
I understood what Henry was trying to say. The Spotted Disease was such a threatening disease to the people of Duelkis.
We remained silent for a while, trying to find some clues.
After about an hour, the door suddenly opened with a bang. I was startled by the sound.
“Duke, we have a problem. Can you come over?”
Curtis said, exhausted and panicked.
We hurriedly closed the book and left the old library.
I had no idea what was going on, but it was unusual for Curtis, who was always so calm and collected, to be so distraught.
I wondered if someone had died…. But no matter how much strife there might be, there was no way they were going to kill someone. Because this was a school where nobles gathered… Oh, but there was a time when Alicia was kidnapped by Liz Cather’s followers, wasn’t there?
For some reason, I felt that after Alicia disappeared, the equilibrium of this country became unstable. Probably because Alicia was such an important person for Duelkis country.
We ran after Curtis, while thinking about this.
