Chapter 313: Sucked inside the Enemy’s Realm?

Two mysterious individuals, coming from two directions, stood before a familiar bin that was left untouched and undamaged despite what had gone on around it.

One of them had a white, featureless mask, black hair, a tall body, and was wearing a white academy uniform—a uniform that belonged to Luton’s School of Prestigious Magic...

While the other individual was mysterious, the only key feature of their attire was the black blazer that belonged to Louis Mana Academy and a plain old hoodie that masked their face.

The two then brought out a device from their pockets that resembled talismans with different runes on each one before slapping them together.

However... Right before they, the talisman collided with one another, a feminine voice resounded beside them, targeting the person in the white mask.

"Yo. Wassup, Alibin? Or should I say puppet?"

It was Lillian.

And she was donning the Mask of Deceit, along with her chestplate and black cloak.

She had her hands nonchalantly stuffed inside her pockets as she watched the two slowly turn their eyes in her direction before slowly pressing the slips of paper together.

And upon contact with one another, the talisman shot out a burst of mana—

Fwoosh!

—Causing a small tornado to erupt outwards, trapping the three inside.

Their hair tousled inside the miniature hurricane. Their ears filled with the sounds of the winds blowing through their ears, it was almost like they were surrounded by a swarm of locusts.

The two men fixed their gaze on Lillian’s casual figure, who continued to stoically stare back at them without a care in the world about what was currently going on.

Currently, Lillian felt extremely... Calm.

She soon tore her gaze away from them, finding the wind around them to shift in colour to a darker tint. For now, due to the effects of the wind, she wasn’t able to move.

And that applied to the two before her as well.

Such was the reason why the three hadn’t begun to battle it out. This was because the tornado that they were stuck inside was a spatial tunnel to the place of destination.

Lillian closed her eyes, breathing softly as she prepared herself. (2)

Fwoosh...

A few minutes later, the winds of the tornado finally parted, revealing an entirely new scenery around them. It was like... They were in a lab.

The two men twisted their bodies around, raising their hands and shooting long, slender strings from the tips of their fingers that were sent in Lillian’s direction.

However, right before their sharp strings could reach her, they suddenly dropped to the ground.

Their bodies shivered, shuddering even. They didn’t know what had happened, but their bodies had begun to lose control over themselves.

Lillian, standing over them, had just used the third enchantment of her mask.

The enchantment called [Fractured Resolve]...

With what the description entailed, as long as she kept a steady focus and a constant stream of mana, she would be able to break the resolve of anyone she targeted.

However, this effect would weaken when targeting an enemy with a strong mind and will.

Lillian felt something rising up in her throat that carried the taste of iron. Her brain felt like it was beginning to tighten the longer she kept attacking the two men’s resolve.

She continued to stare down at the two, continuing to gulp down her blood that tried to escape through her mouth. She was now beginning to understand the effects.

If her mind and will weren’t as strong or at least stronger than the victim’s, she would experience backlash.

’The Puppeteer has a strong mind...’

She deactivated her ability and walked over to the two men, who continued to kneel on the ground.

Before Paul could get back to his feet, he felt a hand land on the top of his head, followed by the feeling of weakness and a draining of his mana.

Before the other man could get back up to his feet, Lillian pulled down his hood and placed her hand on top of his head, sapping him of both stamina and mana.

This, in turn, recovered what she had just lost thus far.

After draining all that she could get, she watched as the two lay on the ground.

Seeing that they were vulnerable, Lillian crouched down and raised her right hand, shaping it into a blade before slicing through their necks.

After doing that, Lillian pressed her palms together in a prayer while muttering quietly:

"Please forgive me..." (10)

She then got up and turned around, looking towards a dark hall that separated into several corridors.

It was a maze.

Lillian sighed and began her journey through the labyrinth. (2)

She then muttered under her breath:

"Let’s go all out this time..."

"Look, Red-eyes, I’m sure Lillian didn’t mean anything to leave ya behind." Millis rambled on as she sat beside a certain Assassin, who still had a gloomy look on her face.

However, that soon changed as she felt the entire underground shelter tremble.

Millis looked around, scratching the top of her head, "Woah... Are those guys using bigger bombs now? Super worrrying..."

She then turned back to Marionette.

"Anyway, like I was sayin—!"

And then realised that the Assassin had disappeared into thin air. The Heroine looked around frantically, wondering where the woman had suddenly teleported to before groaning.

"Damn it... How is she so fast?"

[??? POV]

The man continued to stare at the screen while wiping his bloodied mouth with the sleeve of his robe before stiffening.

He raised his skinny hand to the side of his neck before drawing a straight line with the tip of his finger. He had just felt something cold and chilling pass through it.

And that something was... The feeling of death. Not once. But twice.

"That’s odd... Who killed my puppets?"

He looked through the last pieces of memories he had received from them and found something rather peculiar.

They were killed inside his realm.

They were killed by an unknown individual wearing a blurry and indiscernible mask.

They were killed... By an intruder in his realm...

"An... Intruder?" His lips curled, revealing his teeth that were dyed red and were unnaturally sharp.

He then switched the camera feed and eventually found the mysterious figure wandering inside his realm.

He watched as she avoided the traps he had laid along the way and stumbled upon the group of cultists he had spread throughout his realm as guards.

He narrowed his eyes as he watched them tear through his cultists, even using their bodies as shields against arrows. And not only that, once they had dispatched his cultists, they began dragging their corpse along with them.

He stared at the tendrils that stretched out from their back, sticking to the corpses of the cultists and glowing a subtle blood red hue.

It was a chilling sight, but an exciting one for the scrawny man as he watched the intruder’s body continuously be drenched in blood and gore.

"Interesting! Interesting, I say! I must prepare! I MUST PREPARE!" He cackled loudly as his fingers twitched, pulling strings around to prepare for the intruder’s presence.
