I Will Create a Good Ending for the Yandere Villainess-Chapter 30: Unorthodox Element?
Chapter 30: Unorthodox Element?
Using her swift legs, Lillian dashed through the arduous trees. Wherever she went, more markings of the same massive claw marks could be seen scratched into the trees.
It was starting to get slightly daunting now...
Just as she was about to take another step... she suddenly tripped over an exposed root.
"W-woah!"
THUD!
She groaned from her clumsy fall. 'Great... I grazed my knee...' Getting up off the floor, she then realised that the ground before her looked slightly... odd and unnatural. (2)
Before, she was a large patch of leaves neatly packed together in a circle.
She stared with a deadpan expression at the carpet of lines. Kneeling down, she grabbed one of the sticks nearby and brushed against the leaves, revealing a grid of sticks underneath. (5)
Now that she had confirmed her suspicions that this was definitely a trap—She held out her hand and blasted a water bullet at it.
Her attack shattered through the rough foundations keeping the leaves from falling and revealed a pit several metres deep.
Peeking inside, stone spikes of varying sizes and shapes stared grimly back at her.
"... This looks so cartoony..."
'... Good thing I tripped...' Just as she was about to walk around it, the familiar voice of a woman resounded from behind a tree.
"OH COME ON!"
Lillian snapped her head towards the tree and saw Millis peeking from behind it—dumbfounded.
"YA ALMOST FELL INTO IT!"
"... Almost! Good attempt, though." Lillian smiled comfortingly at her. If she hadn't had her necklace, she would've no doubt fallen into it. (2)
Actually, she didn't think she would've made it this far without it.
"How did you even get here so fast?"
"Hm? I just used the trees."
"The trees...?"
"Mhm! How 'bout I just show ya?" Millis said with an ominous tone.
She raised her hand and patted the tree beside her.
SWISH!
Lillian rolled out the way as something shot at her from the tree. Looking back at it—she saw it seemed to be a long, narrow but sharpened branch.
It looked like an oversized toothpick!
She looked back at Millis with a wry expression, "No warning...?" (2)
"Would ya like one?"
"I mean... I would prefer you t—"
"Warning!"
Before Lillian could even finish her sentence, Millis interrupted her—launching yet another wooden projectile at her.
Only this time...
SPLATTER!
It pierced through her shoulder—splattering her blood across the grass and dying it.
A searing pain erupted in her shoulder, causing her mind to blank. She gritted her teeth and braced through the pain. (2)
She would then go to summon another health potion from her inventory and swiftly drink it. This was her last one.
The hole in her shoulder then began to heal miraculously at a visible rate. Her muscles are growing and stretching out—mending together. Millis watched wondrously—patiently waiting for Lillian to finish healing.
Lillian breathed a shaky sigh of relief as she saw her shoulder as good as new. Although a scar now replaced that area. She looked up towards Millis and asked:
"How come you didn't attack me?" (2)
"Ehhh... doesn't seem honourable for me to..."
Lillian's eyes softened as she remembered this nature of hers. While Millis was indeed someone who desired a harem, she was still, in the end, a Chivalrous saint.
'A lustful, chivalrous saint...' Lillian snickered to herself.
"Well then... shall we begin?"
Millis nodded and patted the tree once again—shooting yet another splinter towards Lillian, except she was ready this time. With a tilt to the side and narrowly avoiding it—she counterattacked with a projectile of her own.
Millis grinned as she saw the bullet of water approaching her rapidly and raised a wall of wood in response.
SPLASH!
The power behind it was able to leave behind a small crater in the wall.
Lillian stared solemnly at the wall.
'The element to control nature itself. Since it doesn't belong to the category of natural elements—it resides in the unorthodox section of this world's power.'
The category of Natural Elements is basically centred around the four main elements and the different sub-variants of it. For example, her water element, since it belongs to this category, may lead her to be able to control ice itself.
The category of Unorthodox, however, as its name suggests, are elements that don't fall in the traditional section of what we would refer to as elements.
This category would focus on more abstract elements in the world—for example, metal or blood.
If she had to bet between a person with an unorthodox element and a person with a natural one, she would most likely bet it on the one with an unorthodox element.
The possibility of it being anything and most likely deadly in battle is high.
'And currently... I'm facing off against someone who owns an Unorthodox Element... great...' She then grinned.
Millis continued to hide behind her wall until a ferocious tremor permeated throughout it. Sensing something was off, she dived towards the ground, narrowly avoiding a spinning drill of water that penetrated through her wall.
Looking up and through the hole in it, she saw Lillian's mad and defiant smirk on her face. (8)
