~THIRD PERSON POV~

Hector knocked on the door and when Odette opened it, Hector nearly fell over.

"Fuck." He mumbled under his breath, gulping hard.

"Are you ready?" Hector asked trying to regain his composure seeing as he fumbled at first.

"No, but let’s do this." Odette took a deep breath and stepped out of the room.

Her feet moving like they knew the way. But her mind was racing. Her vision was blurred. Her heart hammered in her chest, battering ribs. Each beat louder than the last as she approached the ballroom doors.

The chatter could be heard from behind the closed doors.

"When I open this door, all those fears need to melt away and remember this. You are our Luna. You walk in there and command the room." Hector said.

On cue her family came up behind her.

Ash looked at his daughter and praised "You look like the goddess you were born to be."

"You command that room and remember, you own this world my darling and we all just live in it." Lilith grabbed her hand and held it.

"We’ve got your back, kiddo." Oliver dropped a hand on her shoulder to steady her.

She felt it then. The love they had for her wash over her. Her confidence building.

’This is it. This is my moment.’ She told herself.

She closed her eyes and took one last deep breath before nodding to Hector to open the doors.

And just as expected the entire room dropped into an instant silence.

She walked in slow and steady. She commanded the air around and bended it to her will. Despite her strong confident and powerful appearance her knees were buckling.

A few steps into the room she did what Ambrose told her and carefully released her aura. Letting her raw power settle in the room filling every space, sucking the air from everyone’s lungs. The weaker shifters dropped to their knees and kneeled.

The first shifters felt her presence and moved forward between the guests. They felt the draw, the pull toward their creator.

They were confused and conflicted on why their body moved against their will.

Everyone looked in awe and marvel at the woman who walked in like she owned the world. Ambrose was rocked to his core by her ethereal beauty.

She looked otherworldly. The stars envied her shine right now. This night lived for her.

When he reached her their eyes met. And he held her hand tight, balancing and steading her.

"I can feel you heart racing from just your hand." He whispered teasingly to her.

"Are you sure it’s not through the bond." Odette teased back.

"That too."

She could feel all eyes in the room on her.

They were mesmerized by her. and like the first shifters, they all felt this unexplainable connection and pull toward her.

They weren’t just drawn to her power, or her beauty, but to her.

Something inside her called to their inner beasts.

And it forced them to listen.

The crowd gathered behind them as Ambrose and Odette walked to the windows by the front of the ballroom. Her family fell to the back of the room spreading out, ready to defend their princess at a moment’s notice.

Ambrose was a wide mix of emotions. He was also nervous. Excited. He’s never done anything like this and wished he had parents to coach him through this. But he didn’t. And he wouldn’t let his mood be soured by where those thoughts would take him, so he quickly shut them out.

Together they carried each other through each terrifying step to revealing a truth that would shake the very foundation of their world.

"You look like a goddess." Ambrose whispered low enough she would be the only person to hear him.

"That’s because I am one." She smiled back at him.

When they reached the stage, they turned and faced the part guests.

Ambrose began.

"I have a few announcements to make. What I am telling you tonight is information only a very select few have been privy to know. And understand I had my reasons for keeping this quiet until now. Things have been happening and I am sure you all know the rogue attacks have been worsening." Ambrose’s voice was sturdy and strong, casting a shadow of warning with his next bit.

"A war is coming and things will need to change. Sacrifices to be had and alliance’s to be made. This war is the kind that will dictate the survival of all night citizens. As such I have made the decision to take a luna finally." His tone began to shift, something more authoritative and commanding. He started letting out his alpha aura and Odette matched him, increasing it, adding to it, but not becoming one with it. Still holding its own strength and independence to it.

"I will not introduce the future Luna Queen." He gesture to his beautiful white haired love and kneeled. "This is Princess Odette Drakarys, Princess of Darkness and Daughter of the moon goddess Artemis, The MoonChild."

The crowd erupted in screams.

"Liar!"

"Vampire’s are evil!"

"A pretty face can’t undo the darkness in their hearts!"

The crowd howled with displeasure. Odette’s family readied themselves for a riot.

But Odette stepped up and did exactly what Ambrose had instructed.

Show them she was not just a vampire.

But she was a goddess. Their goddess. In flesh.

"SILENCE!" Her voice echoed with ancient authority and took control. Odette let her aura out; the entire room was instantly struck with what felt like a ton. Crushing everyone and forcing them to the floor. Even her own family.

"I am not just a vampire." She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She was ready for this. To show her power, her truth, herself.

The ground began to quake beneath their feet, but Odette and Ambrose remained standing, the windows shook but didn’t shatter.

"I am much more than that."

When she opened her eyes, they glowed white. White lightning crackled around her. Her hair floated, lifted by the raw power radiating off her body.

"I am The MoonChild."

White flames began flickers over her skin. Kissing her gently at first before roaring to life like a violent fire that threatened to destroy them all. But she wasn’t burning, she felt charged, safe, and warm. They danced on her body like they’ve been there their whole lives.

"I am the daughter of Artemis Goddess of the Moon and of the Hunt, Mother to Shifters. I am of her soul in flesh. You she be considered blessed to have the daughter of your fucking creator as your Luna!" Odette yelled, her voice carried the depth one would expect of a god. The world bowed to her command like it didn’t even have a choice.

No one in the room dared speak against her while she floated above them covered in glowing white flames.

Ambrose gazed at her as if the whole world completely faded away and she was the only thing in it.

The way the flames reflected in the gems on the dress made her look iridescent. Shimmering like moonlight on the still and quiet ocean.

With the crowd subdued by her impressive display, she pulled the fyre back in and lifted the weight in the air enough for people in the room to not just breath but swallow what they just witnessed.

Artemasia walked up and did exactly as she said she would.

"This The MoonChild. Born with a piece of our goddess as her soul, Artemis is her Mother. And your Alpha King, he is Onyx, the first wolf. His purpose, your purpose, is to protect her." Artemasia yelled pointing to Odette.

"You dare defy the will of your goddess because she’s a vampire? Fools!"
