I Was a Loner, but My Class Got Summoned to Another World…-Chapter 416: Clash in Elris Pt.3
Drakhel, the blood-red scaled dragon flying high above, had everyone's attention. The four massive comets of blood he summoned rained down upon the demons and wolves below. The enemy forces seemed somewhat prepared for it—at least, until the sky itself turned dark.
A thick black mist began to spread as Narok, the black dragon, activated Black Eclipse. The fog descended rapidly, veiling the battlefield and obscuring the attack from view.
Moments later, four massive explosions echoed within the mist—like bombs erupting all at once. Chaos erupted. Magical wards flared, and the wolves scattered, fleeing from the overwhelming power of the sovereigns.
Cheers rose from the allied side, the dazzling assault bolstering their morale. As for the enemy, they responded by reinforcing their wards and hunkering down, waiting for the mist to dissipate.
Narok didn't keep the skill active for long. He could sense the demons' attempts to siphon his mana—if he overused it now, the backlash could be severe.
Meanwhile, the army was preparing to launch a counterattack. They needed to break the wards if the dragons were to keep pressing the offensive.
Brian hurled fireballs forward, testing the defenses. Each one struck a translucent barrier and fizzled out. The wolves had magic of their own, it seemed—a system of runes unlike anything he'd seen before, capable of blocking spells with unnerving precision.
"Strong… and their magic isn't affected by the mana drain the demons use," Brian muttered under his breath. "What a mess."
"Don't worry, I can handle that—but only that. Afterward, I'll be out of commission until I recover. I just hope you can work with Kiel, Ren, and Yui to take out the wolves one at a time," Owen sighed, trying to stay hopeful.
His skill, Artillery Strike, launched a volley of condensed material that detonated on impact. The unique benefit came from the arrows themselves—they were linked to a pocket dimension, and each arrow would release whatever was stored inside it upon impact.
It consumed a massive amount of mana and depleted his entire stockpile. Nearly a castle's worth of supplies had been prepared for this moment—everything from spears and spiked stones to explosive materials designed to detonate violently.
He had saved this arsenal for the main war effort—not for the opening battle—but perhaps it was the perfect way to begin testing his true strength.
Owen readied himself, fully aware that he might even blackout from the strain.
"Make sure you get me back to safety," he muttered. "I don't think I'll be able to stand after this."
He knew better than to count on Brian for help, so he directed the warning primarily to the nearby troops.
Then he took his position, drew his bow, and prepared a dozen arrows for launch. With a sharp breath, he let them fly.
The projectiles screamed through the air before slamming into the enemy wards. One after another, they exploded—each unleashing its hidden cargo and a violent burst, even some of the shrapnel landed on the allied wards.
Under the tremendous weight of the materials unleashed by the arrows, the barriers buckled and collapsed, sending debris tumbling down toward the demons.
Brian, seeing his chance, called out to the other heroes.
"Now! With me!"
He wasn't aiming to fight the entire pack of leaders—no, he had one target in mind.
He was going to kill the white wolf.
The dragons and other creatures could handle the rest. That one wolf, though—he wanted it skinned before any other battle ended.
Ren and his sister exchanged a hesitant glance but ultimately joined him, the two rode on the giant bear and rushed to the font line. The siblings had completed their previous quest alongside Logan, and were now strong enough to fight on par with Brian.
Kiel and Carla followed soon after—not out of loyalty to Brian, but to make sure he didn't get himself killed. The wolves were proving increasingly dangerous, especially when working in teams. Their coordination was only getting deadlier.
The silver, black, gray, and brown-furred wolves were all ready to receive them.
"Yui, help Karla up onto this creature. I don't think I'll be riding their bear much longer," Ren said suddenly, jumping down. His hair fell over his eyes as he landed, but he pushed it back and looked around. Brian was already standing beside him.
"Pick your color, Brian. I'll keep the others off you while you fight it."
Brian frowned slightly at the implication—that Ren thought he could handle the others alone. But as long as he could kill the silver-furred one, he didn't care. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com
"The silver is mine. Keep the others away… for at least two minutes. That should be enough."
Ren shrugged. With his new class and his sister at his side, he was starting to wonder if he might be able to outmatch Brian, especially since Brian no longer had Logan's buffs.
The boy then entered his stance, his sister right behind him. The two were a combo, and with their new classes and skills, their synergy had grown even further.
Ren drew his sword and, in an instant, teleported behind the brown-furred wolf.
Yui intercepted a punch from the black wolf with a powerful kick, then hurled two kunai to either side. She now possessed the ability not only to teleport herself, but also a clone—or even one other person.
