I Truly Am The Villian-Chapter 1201 - 1200 Divine Blade, Liaobei Sea, Gathering of the Liu Tao
Chapter 1201 -1200 Divine Blade, Liaobei Sea, Gathering of the Liu Tao
“That monster also knows the power of the Divine Blade. It is now guarding the Path-slashing Peak where the blade resides,” Xu Zimei replied.
“Where is this Path-slashing Peak?” the group asked, bewildered.
“It’s located on the Liaobei Sea of the Northern Border,” Xu Zimei said.
“It’s a lone peak atop the vast floating sea.”
“The Liaobei Sea is indeed boundless, being the largest ocean of our Northern Border.
A peak above it is actually quite possible,” Mr. Wen nodded in agreement.
“But the Liaobei Sea is too vast; finding it will not be easy.
Moreover, with the monster guarding it, a head-on confrontation is impossible.
We must find a way to divert the monster to seize the Divine Blade.”
After Mr. Wen finished speaking, he looked at Xu Zimei and asked, “Do you have any method?”
“That’s quite simple,” Xu Zimei replied.
“Gather the people of Liu Tao and inform the entire continent to battle against that monster.
Meanwhile, during your great battle, I can take the opportunity to steal the Divine Blade.”
“What if we’re discovered?” someone beside him asked.
“Then discovered we shall be; the Divine Blade is on the lone peak, and the monster cannot take it away,” Xu Zimei replied.
“Since you’ve already decided to go all out, why bother with such concerns.”
“In that case, I will notify the other members of Liu Tao,” said Mr. Wen as he stood up.
“We will fight the monster, better to die standing than live crouching.”
“Then the young master will stay at my mansion for a few days. Once everyone is gathered, we will set off,” City Lord Qin Haoshi said, looking at Xu Zimei.
Xu Zimei nodded slightly and began walking out, led by the General.
Watching Xu Zimei’s departing figure, as he had already gone far,
someone below finally spoke up, “Can we really trust this person?
His words, whether true or false, are unfathomable.”
“If there really were an Ancient Lineage, why hasn’t even Mr. Wen heard of it?”
Qin Haoshi remained silent, instead looking at Mr. Wen.
He knew Mr. Wen was a man of great wisdom.
“Let’s prepare for two possibilities,” Mr. Wen stood up and said.
“On one hand, inform Liu Tao and others, preparing for the final battle against that monster.
On the other, investigate this person’s identity; I will also test him.”
The crowd nodded slightly, for at this point, there was no other way.
In fact, they all knew that if things continued like this, they would have no choice left.
……
The General of the City Lord Mansion escorted Xu Zimei to a secluded courtyard.
He said, “Master, you shall stay here for a few days. Once everyone is assembled, we’ll inform you promptly.”
“Thank you,” Xu Zimei nodded, without saying much more.
After the General left, Xu Zimei looked up to see the sky was growing dark.
He returned to his room to rest.
The moon hung round like a disc, while the starlit sky spread across.
The lamp inside the room had dimmed, with the burnt-out candle still leaving black smoke.
A figure crept into Xu Zimei’s room silently.
A short blade, resembling a willow leaf, swiftly aimed toward Xu Zimei’s neck.
Xu Zimei’s previously closed eyes instantly opened.
With a single hand, he clasped the blade, tossing it to the side effortlessly.
The figure in black retreated quickly.
“Why graces me with a visit so late at night?” Xu Zimei asked.
“To kill you,” the figure in black rasped.
From his sleeve, countless flying knives shot out, like a rain of arrows.
The flying knives emitted a black glow, evidently showing venom on them.
Xu Zimei dodged each one.
A series of “ding ding ding” noises sounded as the knives fell inside the room, everything they touched corroding into black pus.
“Kill,” the figure in black lightly shouted.
Two more willow leaf blades appeared in his hands, charging straight for Xu Zimei.
Xu Zimei’s gaze sharpened; with one hand, he seized the black figure’s wrist, evading the attack.
Using borrowed force, he pushed the black figure, sending him flying.
With a “boom,” the black figure smashed into the threshold, shattering the entire door.
He was thrown back into the courtyard.
The black figure quickly stood, ready to attack again.
“Mr. Wen, why bother testing me? If you have no trust, just say the word,” Xu Zimei laughed.
Upon hearing Xu Zimei’s words, the black figure stopped in his tracks.
After a moment of silence, he finally removed the black cloth from his face.
“Master, you’ve misunderstood. It’s not that I distrust you.
I just wanted to test your strength, to see if you could obtain the Divine Blade.”
“And the result of your test?” Xu Zimei asked.
“I’m naturally convinced,” Mr. Wen replied.
“I trust you can understand why I proceeded; after all, this is a gamble with the fate of the entire continent.
We cannot afford to lose.”
“You won’t lose,” Xu Zimei answered.
“Back then, the Ancestor of our Ancient Lineage could suppress that Monster Beast; today, I must be able to do the same.”
As he spoke, he also mused in his heart.
This Divine Continent was everything to him; no matter what happened, he could never destroy this world.
“Then we shall borrow your words,” Mr. Wen bowed.
“Apologies for the disturbance tonight, and I hope for your understanding.”
Watching Mr. Wen’s departing figure, Xu Zimei sneered.
He returned to his room.
……
In the following days, nothing unexpected occurred.
Xu Zimei stayed in the courtyard for five days.
Finally, on the morning of the sixth day, Qin Haoshi arrived with a group to find Xu Zimei.
Behind Qin Haoshi was a crowd of people.
Every one of them emanated a majestic aura, their Divine Might restrained, with deep, profound eyes.
It was evident that these people were the most powerful from the entire continent.
Especially the leading six, aside from Mr. Wen and Yin Ruozhuo of Shu Mountain, the other four were equally matched.
“I’m Gold King Wei, one of Liu Tao,” a robust man declared loudly.
“I heard you have a way to destroy that monster. As long as it’s true, we will follow your commands.”
“Qin City Lord should have explained the basics to you, right?” Xu Zimei said.
“All of you will distract the monster while I take the Divine Blade.
Once the blade is in hand, our chances of victory increase by at least thirty percent.”
“Good, I’ve been bearing with that monster for some time now,” Gold King Wei replied.
“We’ve prepared ships in Flame Stone City, and this time we’ll have several hundred people going,” Qin Haoshi added.
“Let us all find that lone peak.”
Everyone nodded.
With brief preparation, hundreds of them set off for the Liaobei Sea.
Most of these people were extraordinarily skilled, soaring into the sky together.
In half a day’s work, they arrived at Liaobei Sea.
A vast ocean greeted their eyes. This sea was not beautiful, bubbling like foam.
Hundreds of ships were quietly docked on the sea surface.
