I Truly Am The Villian-Chapter 1189 - 1188: Old Acquaintance in the Dark, Forcibly Breaking In
Chapter 1189 -1188: Old Acquaintance in the Dark, Forcibly Breaking In
Lai Canyin gazed at Xu Zimei with a somewhat wooden expression.
Her eyes were lifeless, as if her soul had vanished.
“Still haven’t woken up?” Xu Zimei asked with a faint smile.
“This is the Nine Ghosts Academy,” Lai Canyin was silent for a long time before cautiously asking.
“What did you dream of?” Xu Zimei inquired.
“Wasn’t the dream created by you?” Lai Canyin took a deep breath and responded.
“I create dreams, but not their content,” Xu Zimei replied.
“The dreams you have are drawn by your subconscious.”
“I see,” Lai Canyin nodded and said, “Thank you.”
“I’ll be leaving the Nine Ghosts Academy tomorrow. Get the map ready as soon as possible,” Xu Zimei reminded.
“Why so soon?” Lai Canyin asked, puzzled.
“Has someone threatened you?”
“There is no one in this world who can threaten me,” Xu Zimei replied.
“It’s just that there’s no point staying at the Nine Ghosts Academy. I want to explore elsewhere.”
“Alright, I’ll have it ready for you tomorrow morning,” Lai Canyin nodded.
As she was about to leave, her brows suddenly furrowed. She pulled out the Spotted Stone with her right hand, only to see that its light had grown dim.
“Is it nighttime already?” Lai Canyin turned to look at Xu Zimei and asked.
“That’s odd. It shouldn’t be this early,” Xu Zimei replied.
Although people here used the Spotted Stone to gauge time, they could still sense the general passage of time.
The darkness seemed to have come unusually quickly.
Xu Zimei took out his own Spotted Stone, which had also dimmed.
Lai Canyin hastily shut all the doors and windows.
Outside, gray winds were already howling, and divine power intertwined with ghostly energy, becoming chaotic once again.
The energies raged, swirling violently around the White Bone Tree.
“There’s something strange about this Ghost God Qi,” Lai Canyin muttered to herself.
She stared out the window, silent.
After a long while, as if something had occurred to her, she suddenly looked at Xu Zimei and asked, “Do you know everything in my dreams?”
“I have no intention of spying. It’s just that the Profound Meaning naturally reveals it to me,” Xu Zimei explained.
“What did you see?” Lai Canyin asked calmly.
“You, and another woman who looks very much like you,” Xu Zimei said.
“That’s my elder sister, one of the Nine Ghosts,” Lai Canyin smiled.
“Oh,” Xu Zimei nodded slightly.
“Aren’t you curious?” Lai Canyin turned to ask.
“Curious about what?”
“About me, or my sister’s identity,” Lai Canyin replied.
“If you want to share, I’ll listen. If not, I won’t press you,” Xu Zimei said.
Such matters were of little consequence—worth hearing, but not essential.
“My sister’s name is Lai Xi. We’re twins, though she was born a dozen seconds earlier than me,” Lai Canyin said.
“Our Lai Family’s Startling Mirage Orchid is the Legacy Lotus, passed down through the generations.
But in our generation, something unforeseen happened.
At the time of our birth, the Startling Mirage Orchid split in two, with half in each of our bodies.”
Xu Zimei nodded. This explained why Lai Canyin’s orchid was only a fragmented one.
“From a young age, she has always excelled over me in everything. Even at the academy, she became one of the Nine Ghosts.
She is the successor to Han Ba.”
Lai Canyin sneered coldly, “I just want to defeat her and become one of the Nine Ghost inheritors.
The Startling Mirage Orchid can only fully bloom as one, and there can only be one inheritor.”
“You’ve got quite a long road ahead,” Xu Zimei remarked.
He had met Xiao Tian today, a Nine Ghost inheritor, whose cultivation had already reached the Great Emperor realm.
If Lai Xi hadn’t encountered any setbacks, she too would likely be at the Great Emperor realm. By comparison, Lai Canyin’s current strength still lagged behind significantly.
Just then, the gray winds outside intensified suddenly, and a figure streaked through the storm.
Though it was only a fleeting glimpse, the figure disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.
Yet Xu Zimei was certain that what he saw was clear.
“Lan Ke’er!”
His eyes narrowed as he stared into the pitch-black night where nothing could be seen.
He slowly began walking toward the door.
“What are you doing?” Lai Canyin asked.
“Going outside,” Xu Zimei replied.
“Are you insane?” Lai Canyin gasped in shock, trying to stop him, but it was too late.
Xu Zimei had already opened the door and stepped out.
Lai Canyin froze at the doorway, not daring to step outside.
After stepping out, Xu Zimei immediately noticed what wasn’t so apparent while inside the room. The roaring wind outside was howling madly, bellowing with unrelenting force.
The gale seemed as though it would uproot the entire world and sweep it away.
Xu Zimei felt an overwhelming force surging toward him, as if the gray wind was attempting to utterly devour him.
Frowning, Xu Zimei waved his right hand, stirring the heavens and scattering the stormy clouds.
The gray wind swirled around him, moving as if tethered to his presence.
With a single step, he shattered the ground beneath him.
With a deafening “boom,” he rushed toward the heart of the storm.
At this moment, bolts of lightning crackled and thunder roared amidst the storm, like a relentless tornado assailing him from all directions.
Nearby, waves of power emanated, tearing through everything, seemingly intending to dismember Xu Zimei into pieces.
Xu Zimei let out a powerful shout, activating the Divine Demon Visualization Chart. Mighty, ancient demonic energy radiated from him.
Under the Law of Heaven and Earth, he stood like a towering giant.
One hand supporting Hengyu, one foot pressing down upon mountains and rivers.
“Stay where you are,” he roared, charging toward the core of the storm.
At that moment, a bolt of black light suddenly burst forth from the core.
The black light was ferocious, ripping apart everything, annihilating all, blasting Xu Zimei flying backward.
“Surrender them to me!” Xu Zimei swept his right hand, opening a portal to the Divine Continent.
Bai Meng, the Seven-faced Demon General, and Crimson Blade Bull Demon stepped forth.
A palpable aura of Holy Power surged continuously.
Their roar echoed throughout, as the three moved to flank Xu Zimei on both sides.
Above Xu Zimei’s head, an azure-blue star circled endlessly.
Soon, the storm was completely suppressed on the spot.
At the heart of the gray winds, a portal emerged.
The portal was black, engraved with countless ghastly faces.
Two circular rings were embedded within it, exuding an aura as though it led to the Netherworld.
“Open,” Xu Zimei commanded, stomping forcefully upon the portal.
Yet the portal didn’t budge an inch.
Even with Bai Meng and the others combining their strength, the portal remained entirely immovable.
“It’s Rule Power,” Bai Meng said grimly.
Only the force of rules could render so many of them powerless.
It was said that the Ghost God Realm was shrouded in unparalleled mystery. By nightfall, when the storm swept through, anyone caught outside would vanish without a trace, dead or alive.
The secrets of this place had remained unsolvable for millennia.
“What’s wrong? Afraid to open the door?” Xu Zimei shouted.
“I’d like to see for myself the great terror hidden within the Ghost God Realm all these years.”
After a long silence, a voice emerged from beyond the portal.
“The Demon Lord and I do not walk the same path. Why should we meet?”
“I’m not here for you, but for an old acquaintance,” Xu Zimei responded.
“There is no one here for you,” the voice replied once more.
