Chapter 486 - 486 Invincible: Guardians in Distress, Kate's Conviction, A Gift to Monster Girl's Heart and Battle Beast Has Arrived.

Cecil observed the interaction between the Guardians and Allen Walker through the cameras. In this first encounter, it was enough that they didn't anger Allen enough to kill someone, especially Rex Splode, who had the highest chance of making Allen really angry.

Cecil focused on Allen's face, who looked into the hidden camera and smiled with mockery in his eyes.

'Dealing with Walker is much harder than I thought.'

Allen was unpredictable. One day, he could be the calmest, laziest, and easiest person to deal with, and the next day, he could wear a health inspector suit and shut down a hospital. Of course, Allen acted this way mainly for his audience or when he felt like annoying other people, but this was something Cecil didn't know; he only saw him as someone with a loose screw.

'However, his strength is something we can't afford to lose...'

As the days went by and reports of Allen's activities reached his hands, he realized that he didn't know anything about Allen or what he was truly capable of.

'It seems he has a close relationship with Atom Eve, Monster Girl, and Dupli-Kate...'

Allen was strong, and he could be a good trainer for the new Guardians. Of course, there was a certain degree of risk since Cecil didn't know where Allen's limits were. He didn't know how far Allen could act without being provoked. So, he wanted Allen to form connections in this world, some kind of bond to ensure his support in case of a crisis.

'The ideal would be if he fell in love, but how realistic is that?'

Cecil had the impression that Allen had no interest in romantic relationships and that he was a free traveler who didn't care about anything. If only he knew the truth.

"For now, let's hope that training with Allen helps the Guardians."

The Guardians of the Globe should be better superheroes than the rest; they should take care of world-threatening dangers. They should be able to face even Viltrumites. Of course, the latter was just an ideal; Cecil didn't believe this team could take on Omni-Man or any Viltrumite, not without the help of at least Mark Grayson. But recruiting Invincible into the team was unrealistic with Omni-Man watching. So it was better to hope that this team would become decent.

...

"Are we going to fight again?!" Shrink-Ray shouted, scared. She remembered the previous experience when Allen gave them an overwhelming beating.

Allen smirked, squinting, "Of course, you didn't even get to the second phase. Once you do, we'll think about another training."

Amanda sat on the ground, exasperated, "I knew it, but you really plan to act like a raid boss, right?"

Allen laughed but didn't answer. Raid bosses were well-known in MMORPGs. They were monsters that couldn't be defeated by a single player, and sometimes even a large group wasn't enough, requiring the cooperation of hundreds, if not thousands, of players to defeat them. An exasperating feature was that when the boss's gigantic health bar dropped to a certain point, the boss entered a second phase with an increase in power, new abilities, and sometimes even healing itself.

"Well, don't get too discouraged. I'll give you an advantage."

Above Allen, a green health bar appeared, absurdly similar to one taken from a video game.

"What?!"

"You can do that too?!"

As expected, everyone reacted to this. Allen simply smiled and continued explaining.

"As we all know, you wouldn't beat me even with all the possible restrictions, so we'll use this bar, which will be your hope for victory. Every time you land an attack on me, regardless of whether it damages me or not, this bar will drop. The more powerful the attack, the more it will decrease. When it hits half, it'll be phase two. If you manage to empty the health bar, you win, and the training will be over..."

Rex stood up with a determined look, "Alright, sounds good. Let's do this, guys! Let's win and go celebrate!"

Black Samson crossed his arms, thinking that something like this wouldn't be too bad. Most of the new Guardians were too young to measure the danger. Training against Allen would prepare them for future threats.

Robot also processed Allen's words. Realistically, beating Allen was impossible for them, but a victory under these conditions was possible. His eyes gleamed as he began preparing tactical plans to fight.

Allen saw this and nodded. Then, he teleported behind the girls. "Don't think I'll go easy on you..."

Before they turned around, Allen was already back in his original position.

They all went to the training area, which was much bigger and sturdier than the one Team Teen had. Allen stood in the middle of the place, and his aura changed.

"Good brats roam to be beaten."

...

Everyone ended up exhausted and even Rex gasped as he lay on the ground, while Allen remained silent without even being dirty.

The first day was a disaster; everyone fought on their own, and as a result, they only managed to lower the health bar by 3%.

At the end of the training, Allen called Amanda for a private talk. This was noticed by everyone.

Rex got up from the floor in annoyance

"What's going on? Isn't it enough that you tricked two girls?" Rex couldn't resist taking a jab at Allen (figuratively) as a mini revenge. Allen didn't argue. He made a slight motion with his fingers, cutting Rex's belt, and his pants fell to the floor.

"Damn it!"

Rex pulled them back up, but it was too late. Black Samson, anticipating Rex would be humiliated, took out his phone and took a picture.

"Wow, for such an impertinent brat, you like boxers with heart prints~"

"Shut up, old man!"

Eve watched Allen leave with Amanda without saying anything, though her eyes stayed fixed.

"Hehe~ If you can't handle it, it's better to give up~" Kate tilted her head with a mocking look.

Eve was not bothered by her words. Instead, she looked at Kate as she blinked, "Don't you care?"

"Mmm, I don't know."

"You don't know?"

"I'm an open-minded woman. I prefer to experience things before deciding. If it turns out it's not for me, I'll walk away before I fall for him. If I can accept it, then that's how it'll be." Kate's determined look surprised Eve. Kate smiled faintly while her eyes remained fixed on Allen walking away. "But one thing I can assure you is that it's worth it. If there's a man who has a chance of making me accept sharing him, it has to be him... I know there's no one like him in this world, and there won't be in the future..."

Eve's eyes widened in disbelief. Although she knew Kate was also interested in Allen, she didn't think she'd be so serious about it. At first, she seemed only interested in sleeping with him, but now she had changed her mind.

Kate squinted her eyes. "And have you already made up your excuse? Well, if you can't decide, maybe you want to try 'fixing him.' If that's the case, good luck~"

Kate began walking away, leaving Eve deep in thought. "I... I've already made my decision, but it seems my resolution was weaker than I thought~"

Eve smiled. It seemed she had judged Kate wrong, thinking she was just a slut. Well, maybe she still had some of that, but something in her had changed. 'No, did he make her change?'

The redhead shook her head and headed for the showers as well.

...

Amanda nervously grabbed her clothes. She usually wore shorts and T-shirts, but today she had on a skirt. There was no particular reason for it, or so she told herself.

"Sorry I should have done this before training," Allen smiled with a calm look on his face.

"W-what?..."

Amanda cursed herself. She was twenty-four, almost twenty-five, and had been a superhero fighting villains that put her in life-or-death situations, yet she still couldn't control the beating of her heart.

'This guy is really dangerous!' Amanda looked at Allen resentfully. Couldn't he just be a normal handsome guy? If he were, she could handle her feelings better.

"Amanda, I wanted to give you this."

Allen pulled out a shiny pendant with a beautiful swallow on it, which had a green gem in its eye.

"This?" Amanda knew it was a gift, but she couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Since she got her appearance, she hadn't received any presents from a guy.

Allen smiled and placed the pendant around Amanda's neck. "This will help you stop rejuvenating every time you use your power. Now that training is about to increase, it's necessary. Besides, I promised to help you..."

Amanda stared at Allen, stunned. Yes, he had said that, but she hadn't expected it to happen so soon.

"I won't rejuvenate anymore?"

"That's right, as long as you wear it, of course. The pendant has protection against curses included, in the package. I'd like to break the curse, but I'm afraid you'd lose your power and couldn't keep being a superhero."

Amanda stayed overwhelmed as she listened to Allen's words.

"I'm working on a magical formula to modify your curse without destroying it. I might even be able to reverse its effect and make you grow every time you use it... but of course, only until you reach your real age..."

The girl felt like she was inside a fantasy. She'd had this curse for a decade—a decade that forced her to leave her normal life because of it. A life where she had to decide whether it was more valuable to save a life or grow each week.

Tears began to well up in her eyes.

"Damn it! I hate this!"

Amanda had a personality that made it difficult for her to show weakness, so that's why she got upset, unable to contain her tears. Allen didn't mind at all, though, he knelt and extended his arms to hug her.

"You can be a strong girl in front of others, but with me, don't worry about it. Cry if you want..."

Allen's voice became softer and penetrated Amanda's heart.

"You are... thank you..."

For a moment, Amanda, who had vowed never to give the old witch who cursed her the satisfaction of seeing her cry, broke into deep sobs, clinging to Allen, who simply consoled her in silence for almost an hour.

At some point, Amanda stopped crying and just held on to him. Even though it was a little bold, she started using her hands to explore Allen's body. He laughed quietly to himself and didn't reject her until the girl tried to slip her hands into his pants.

"Are you calm now, Amanda?" Allen smiled with amusement.

"I... I'm sorry, I got carried away." Amanda pulled her hands back but continued hugging him. "Thank you for not rejecting me... I know a girl with big boobs and a nice ass would be more to your liking, but this means more to me than you can imagine..."

Amanda kissed Allen on the cheek before running off with a flushed face, leaving him watching her retreating back. He didn't leave immediately, instead standing with his eyes closed.

"You can come out now..."

Robot appeared in the corner, his analytical gaze on Allen.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, Mr. Walker..."

"..." Allen watched Robot in silence before looking where Amanda had gone. "I used to be a kinder man, more cordial, even naive, but many things happened in my life, and I decided no one is more important than myself. It's common sense, but for me, it was important..."

Allen walked toward Robot and placed his hand on his shoulder. "I won't be lenient. If you think you can win her over before she's mine, go ahead. But once she's my girl, I'll kill you if you try anything..."

"I... I understand."

One of the reasons Robot accelerated his transition to a human was because of Monster Girl; a girl who wasn't accepted by others. It was like seeing himself in a mirror, and he developed a desire to get closer to Amanda. Soon, those feelings turned into love.

If it had been the old Allen, he might have been more understanding of Robot and maybe even avoided getting close to Amanda. But this Allen wouldn't do that. What should've been, fate, the original story, was something that would never make him back down from a rival. Still, Allen would not force a girl to accept him, so Amanda was free to choose.

So, for now, Allen would not prevent Robot from being close to Amanda, just as he did not prevent Mark from being close to Eve. But that only applies before they're a couple. Allen's patience only exists at that stage, and once he's with Amanda, he would no longer be considerate toward Robot.

...

Amanda arrived at the girls' showers. Without saying anything, she quickly undressed and stepped into the farthest shower. Eve watched her with suspicion as she noticed the intense blush spreading from her face and ears down to her whole body.

"Oh~" Kate, who was in the next shower, exchanged glances with her, and she sent a clone to spy.

The clone peeked into Amanda's shower with a mocking grin. "What's going on, did the monster girl have a movie-style romance moment... huh?"

Kate saw something she hadn't expected; it was one of those moments when a girl just needed to clear her mind in private.

A green fist punched the clone, and a furious shout echoed, "CAN'T A GIRL HAVE A LITTLE PRIVACY?!"

...

From that day on, a routine began for the new Guardians. They had missions, returned in the afternoon, and were beaten by Allen. After that, Allen would spend time with Eve, Amanda, or Kate and make some guy jealous.

On the second day of "training," thanks to Eve, they decided to work more as a team, and under Robot's tactics, they managed to lower the health bar by 10%.

On the third day, there was an argument between Black Samson and Robot, and as a result, the team split up, only managing a 5% decrease.

On the fourth day, Black Samson and Robot came to an agreement; each would lead the team on alternating days. However, Amanda said she'd rather follow Eve's orders. Kate and Rex also supported that request. As a result, on the fourth day, Robot managed 15%, Black Samson achieved 17% on the fifth day, and Atom Eve managed 23% on the sixth.

The main difference in this result was that people were less willing to follow Robot's orders. Black Samson was a good leader, but Rex would rather eat garbage than obey him. Only Eve had everyone's goodwill.

By the seventh day, Invincible joined after returning from space, and the percentages increased to an average of 30%. However, Allen's health bar was more symbolic—they never managed to hurt him. This harsh reality began to weigh heavily on some, especially Rex and Black Samson. On the other hand, Eve began approaching Allen with a towel and a drink after every training session, implying that her relationship with him had become closer.

Kate mocked and ignored her while focusing on her own movements. However, since she realized that overly aggressive seductive tactics weren't working, she had become more discreet, trying to get to know him better before trying anything more.

As for Amanda, she had initially been afraid to try anything, but once she realized that he was not rejecting her, she lost the fear. Of course, she wouldn't act like Kate, but she wouldn't let the other two girls leave her behind.

As Allen had anticipated, things calmed down, and time seemed to accelerate.

...

In the vast universe, there are a vast variety of races, from insectoids to beasts. Among them, perhaps the most dangerous is a famous mercenary, hunter, and warrior known for challenging and killing the strongest in the universe; he didn't even fear Viltrumites or anything else.

This was a huge humanoid white lion called Battle Beast. This being would be a warrior capable of killing Viltrumites, a noble fighter seeking a worthy opponent. His story would be told in the future as one of the greatest champions who threatened even the Viltrumite Regent himself.

Now, this beast had come to Earth, this humble planet, under the promise of finding an opponent who wouldn't die in his claws, like thousands before him.

Machine Head greeted Battle Beast, who arrived in an alien spaceship. Beside him were other supervillains escorting him, but none had the presence of Battle Beast.

"Welcome, King of Beasts, the undefeated champion of the universe!" Machine Head, having lost Isotope, had become more cautious and manipulative because Battle Beast could kill him.

Battle Beast's eyes narrowed as he looked to the sky, letting out his thirst for battle. "I hope you're a worthy opponent, or you'll be torn apart like any other prey!"

Allen sipping a cup of coffee in his apartment with Wednesday on his lap, smiled as if he felt the gaze of a predator.
